Article: Does Soreness Mean Growth?

Like arnold said doms is the only way to know youre growing. The only reason you eventually stop becoming sore is because either your body becomes used to your training or the muscle your training just isn't going to get any bigger. Especially if you're natty. It's not like growth is unlimited. You will eventually stop being sore simply because there is no more growth ability for that particular muscle. This is fact.

Interesting article it completely contradicts what Dr.Fred Hattefield suggests regarding continued soreness being a good thing. To much unknown about DOMS at this point

I've been waiting for this article. I don't always have DOMS and my strength keeps increasing as a result of my 5-3-1. Im a firm believer that you don't need to experience DOMS in order to make progress.

Nice

if I train chest once a week I can have no doms but if I train it once every two weeks it sore dose this mean I will still grow
I train each body part once every three weeks just for that purpose and I've been doing this for the past year and a half. Check out chad shaw. You and him are closer in age and he's a phenomenal natty.

not trying to be rude, but some ppl need to read some basics physiology. detraining and atrophy begins in muscle as soon as 5-6 days from its previous training. to each his own but i try to train based on FACT and founded physiological principles. the idea that soreness is always good or required for growth has in no way ever ever been proven or substantiated and all the factors that effect DOMS are not even clear.
