I've read of people running Smolov for deadlift, which includes deadlifting 4x week, with success. Your body can handle a lot, given all your X's and O's are in order.

I've talked to him before and he says the reason why he deads so much is because it's his strongest lift. He hyper extends and never locks his knees. Eh, to each their own.

This Out of shape overweight guy at my gym chalks up and pulls 3-4 times a week. Yells and screams while he's doing it. Form is meh but he's picking up a lot of weight.

He always wears a tank top that is too tight and his gut sticks out. His arms are small for his size and if I ever thought deads would cause me to look like this guy I'd never do them again. EVER!
 
One douche bag at my gym piles 500kg on the leg press, does half reps and leaves the fu*kin weight on there!!

I did 1080lbs, 3 half reps before the weight made my legs feel like rubber, lmao....n dropped on me, lol....
Yes it was a b!tch to unload all the weights, to bring it back up, so the guy that was using it could finish his sh!t, lol....
It was fun trying though....

Good night I hate going to the gym at 5 pm! We got bumped to overtime now and so instead of being only a handful of people at 3, now it's packed! More douche bags too! One today had a "tattoo" on his fluffy arm of an anchor and it said USA Navy. It was done with an ink pen and it was smudged and coming off! Lmbo!

Ask any cross fitter, they'll tell you those are mad productive and effective!
 
I crossfit. I squat too. I also like penguins, I rack my weights, and I don't have to kip to do pull-ups. Sorry it's so offensive to incorporate metabolic conditioning into a traditional weightlifting program.

Jk... I know the type your talking about. As someone who dabbles in the dark side of CF on the weekends, I'm not a fan of your hardcore Koolaid drinking CFers who think that theirs is the only way....although that can be said for any other type of lifter as well

Nah, I take no issue with anyone's opinion. I can see how the crossfit craze is off-putting, and I understand some of the anti-crossfit sentiment. I have my reasons for why I do it, and it has helped me a lot. It is what it is. To each their own.

I agree man. I'm talking about the crazy koolaid drinkers. I'm military and functional crossfit style training is something I do. So I could be considered a hypocrite lol. I just hate the dudes that are the prophets of crossfit and if you don't CF they will try and convert you... or wanna tar and feather your ass.

There is no right and wrong way to train as long as its the right way to reach your goals. I wouldn't lift.like a bodybuilder if I was training for a marathon lol

hahaha, I have noticed u like to throw fuel on the fire, I like that, and Dave's pure bodybuilding, so crossfit just isn't his cup of tea, plus that was the guy being nice, he's on a ton of gear haha

Lol I functional train.. i can't avoid it in the military. And it was nice and yes... I am on all the gear
 
I was squatting in the squat rack last night and this kid was squatting on the smith machine next to me. Every time I went up in weight, he did also... Awwww.... A little competition never hurts. :)
 
I think crossfit is great as long as ppl are lifting within their abilities. Some new boxes have crappy trainers who let their trainees lift far too much weight when they aren't experienced on dangerous Olympic lifts.

Naw it was an ongoing joke at work lol. I can't let go haha. We had some pretty funny ones today and some pretty disturbing ones. Military humor

Ok speaking of military.. I do cardio on base in the morning and I watch the weight floor. I have never seen so many little guys think they are so tough. I wish I could video tape this sh*t. I think every bench was taken and everyone was half repping... same in the squat racks. Every lift contains cheating and extra movement. Nobody has a shirt on that fits.. everything is a small, sleeves rolled or cut off. Its the dbag mecca. It hard to use the stairmaster when you are uncontrollably laughing. Haha. Now I remember why I don't lift on base anymore. I will take pictures next time

So true. This is why I hate going to the base gym here where I'm at. I'm by no means jacked or anything but I know it. The gym here is filled with the same type of d bags that think they are huge and I get the craziest looks on my sumo deadlift days

Unfortunately at my gym they extended their $9.99 per month New Years special. Now the gym is crowded even at 5:30 in the morning. Almost all the newbies are in pairs. Usually two clueless guys with notebooks using random equipment and clogging up the place. Then there was this douche bag woman doing pushups in the only path that leads through the weight room. There's probably 600 square feet of open space to use in various spots in the gym and she is right in the walking path. I wanted to step on the back of her throat.
 
I tend to just grab 100+ dbs and walk right towards ppl doing that. They tend to gtf out of the way very quickly.

So the dbag who hits on all the girls, is finally getting kicked out of the gym. (He got kicked out from my last gym also.) He finally hit on the wrong girl (trainer's gf.) Turns out, he's been using a free pass for the last 3 months... Oooooh, someone's gonna lose their job!!!
