Sean's Powerlifting Journey

I get mine at academy sports BCG brand 7.99 gets the job done holding everything in place

Holding up constuction wise? How much support/compression?

For UA type material? I just got some and I actually like them more than my UA. My buddy had some and said to get them one size small and they offer a ton of support/compression.

I have 4 pairs of UA compression shorts, blown out the crotch of 3 (surprisingly the oldest and most worn has not blown). 2 pairs of cheap korean ones that are thin yoga-pants like material, and cheap target ones that blew out too.

So looking for a pair that holds up, and 7.99 is dirt cheap. I wear every day, I need em.

I've used the Adidas ones for years. Never blown out the crotch on any of them.

I'll try those next, thanks. Cost comparable to UA?

They come in a pack of two for $25. I get them at Kohl's where they're BOGO 50%. They have tons of additional coupons every week as well.

Great, thanks. UA are $25-35 depending on length, so if they hold, that's a deal or comparable if I don't get a deal.

I've never had that issue, I have an old pair of UA that are worn out in the crotch and will rub me raw if I wear them.

But, the BCG ones I have I really like. All I've ever used are Nike, UA, and the BCG ones now.

x2

I tore up my nike ones and other brands. I have a bunch of Adidas now and they are more comfortable and fit/work better. I won't go back.

This is exactly what I do too. Just got like 4 pair for like 30 bucks the other day. Plus you can get sales + Kohls cash, lol. Get them for free.

Kohls is the shít

Never been in one but I've seen the coupons. I was in bed bath and beyond a few times and there's some interesting things there.

My favorite place I don't have yet. But I like wegmans a Lot

Well this sucked.

Vogelphol pulls suck. It makes you realize how important a braced neutral spine is. I'll throw up video.

Those look a lot better than mine and my training partners' did, hence why you haven't seen them in our log. When I saw the spud straps in the picture, I thought you were going to stop on the straps while holding the weight. EDIT: Not that I would ever try that. I was just saying that the straps made me think you took that exercise down another layer of hell.

I rigged 2 minibands on the deadlift bar for half a rep. Stupid me.

The spud straps were for when I realized I was alone doing this lol

Extra upper back work during the deadlift. It's a great idea for a sumo puller as it really forces you to keep upright and tight.

Thabks rodja.
Not that I can replicate this at my gym, but is it still a good idea for someone who pulls conventional?

Hmm, might tell my buddy to bring the SSB bar attachment tomorrow...

I dare you.

Just texted him to bring it.

Picked up a pair of compression shorts from Old Navy today, $8 on sale. Seem similar in build to UA cold gear style, interested to see how they hold up.

Have him steady the bar behind you. The miniband kept it there for the most part but didn't help any sway.

Thanks for the pointer, Imma outlift you. It's going to have to from a deficit bc the power rack has a raised platform, fuuu.

I know you will!

My exuse, will be that it's my deload week and I didn't want to show off...even tho the fact is, you're a strong mofo-ing puller.

Go for 3 wheels on the bottom and 3 at top!

and can you just place the weights on blocks to even it out so there's no deficit? Mine was a 0.75" pin pull lol

Gym has no blocks, it's 24hr potatoness, the bars are at least straight, just zero knurling on them. Also, my buddy no longer has the SSB attachment. I live to outlift you another day...

You could be a Billy Badass and balance a straight bar.

We should do a no hands squat contest.

At the end of each OHP set yesterday, I lowered into hi-bar, and did a 30 second pause squat with 135-155 just sitting in the hole, no hands, to loosen up. Only 155, but wasn't too hard to balance.
