YOUR 2014 Powerlifting Meet Goals

1500 @198 in February 570/290/650

End 2014 600/315/675?...

Would love to try a comp at some point and just see how I stack up in my area. Sitting around a class 2 right now, hoping for a 1,000+ total. Goals are: 315/250/475....time to get to work

There's a couple in our vicinity coming up if you're interested, man. Let me know if you want to roll.

Add a 1400lb beltless total to my list. In competition.

Stick to lifting. Been at it for only about four months.
Double bw bench
Tripple bw pull and squat.
Weigh no more than 75kg aka get a bit leaner. Not really PL but I like the idea of relative strength less bodyweight same strength = better in mx eyes

600 Squat with Wraps
350 Bench
650 Deadlift

All unequipped at 198

Current
530 Squats with wraps
300 Bench
565 Deadlift
220 at the SPF Record Breakers

My goal is to get my squat and dead higher than my bench. After my back surgery, I layed off squats and deads for a while and now I feel like a choir boy on those two lifts.

All unequipped at 182lbs weight class:

- Squat 440lbs (no wraps)
- Deadlift 550lbs
- Bench press 300lbs

My goals for 2014 are:

-500lb dl
-475 squat
-305 bp

Also cutting down to 220lbs+/-, then mustering up the balls to try my first meet.

Currently at:

-435 dl
-425 squat
-275 bp

Weight 285+/-

Got a long road ahead!

My goal is to actually get a meet under my belt - there's one 2/22/14 in Louisville - as I just read about it & it's just over a month out not sure I'm ready... or just do it?

I just recently ordered a belt & wrist wraps - I'd like to get more acquainted with their use before hitting a meet, but they're on backorder

Working 5-3-1 BBB from March (& still going) - 350/300/450 on paper, but have only gone so far as triples or doubles on my 5-3-1 week, My other goal is to actually hit these theoretical 1RMs

JUST DO IT! Go, have fun, hit PRs, meet people, learn stuff.

Wife gave me the go ahead to spend the cash on entry/singlet/shoes - so I'm running out of excuses why not to....

Probably fine time to learn how to prepare.

Get some Liz, can't wait man. Let me know if you put up a meet prep thread etc so I can follow along.

hit 1700 at my next meet

575/450/677

242 raw

end of the year i want to do 1800 with wraps.

i had a hip injury so i i could only squat 3 times in 7 months before my 523 in december

Big shoutout to Sean1332 for helping me locate my first meet. I'm doing that NASA meet on the 8th of March. Can't wait!

Good luck brother! Post up how you do.

I was worried about getting down to 242 for the meet after weighing myself 2 weeks ago at 253lbs. 2 weeks of superb eating and LISS cardio after lifting and HIIT cardio on my days off has gotten me down to 245. I was shocked. Valentine's Day treats ain't got **** on me!!!

:D

I am a 62 yr old fart and looking to add #8 to my powerlifting championships. Things look good and expect to break previuos world record in single ply (8 yrs ago) of 518.

Good luck brother! Post up how you do.

Class: 242 - Unequipped Powerlifting - Novice

Previous PRs
SQUAT: 365lbs
BENCH: 300lbs (ollllld PR = 320lbs but I can't remember for sure so I'm not counting it)
DEAD: 500lbs

SQUAT
ATTEMPT 1: 315lbs SUCCESS
ATTEMPT 2: 330lbs SUCCESS
ATTEMPT 3: 369lbs FAIL

BENCHPRESS
ATTEMPT 1: 255lbs SUCCESS
ATTEMPT 2: 275lbs FAIL
ATTEMPT 3: 275lbs FAIL

DEADLIFT
ATTEMPT 1: 435lbs SUCCESS
ATTEMPT 2: 480lbs SUCCESS
ATTEMPT 3: 501.5lbs FAIL

I don't want to sound like a whiny bitch making excuses but I blame some of the failures on:

1) Taking this meet on short notice with only 5 weeks of Sheiko Comp Prep to use to prepare for
2) Not buying my own scale and subsequently cutting WAAAAY too much for weigh in. I was 255lbs when I decided to do this meet and when I weighed in officially I was 232.2. Oops. This was a failure on my part by not consistently using the same scale and assuring myself the ones I were using were accurate.
3) First time meet nerves/jitters. :(

But it was a FANTASTIC time and now I know what I need to work on! BENCHPRESS needs to come up so baaaaaad.

Hey guys, I have a new powerlifting goal. My sponsor Unbreakable Gear has been kind enough to fly me down from Oregon to Arizona next month to compete in a meet that will benefit Hospice of the Valley, a great national cause. It's also a USPA sanctioned meet I'm going to be competing in the 198 class. My goal is to hit a 1275+ total to get me into USPA worlds in November. My main objective though, is to meet my fundraising goal of 500 dollars. This is the first event like this that I've ever been involved in. I really don't want to come up short on my end, which is the fundraising, especially when people have been so gracious as to fly me down. Here is the link to my donation page, any amount gets me that much closer to my goal. Thanks for reading this, and maybe checking out my page or donating, stay strong!
