Actually the opposite effect should occur with G8 and Max Pump especially if you are taking the Max Pump before bed on non training days.

When taken before bed expect some nutrient repartitoning effects from the Max Pump. Increased vascularity and pumps upon waking, so those nutrients are getting slammed into your cells during sleep. Another reason Snagency's method of BCAA+SAA mixed in with G8 before bed works extra wonders on those days when Max Pump is taken before bed.

MP (betaine itself) functions best when the body is fully & consistently saturated with the compound..
this is when the extreme benefits are noted and can take place

Nice little workout today. Worked up to 495x3 even though I had the intention of deloading going in. Oh well.


None of the weird symptoms I had the first few days. Was a little warm but that's typical for deads. Weight was 194.2 today even though I ate a little less.

Holy... I can't wait until I get up there in deads. I'm still a slow-pull-405. Or at least I was in July. Haven't gone over 365 since.

It's always hard to deload, especially when motivation to lift heavy is high.

Nice. I think I'd be driven to lift heavier at a faster rate if I had a partner, but I also know I don't really have time for a partner. :/

Pretty good workout. Dropping from 305 to 225 felt so light. I killed those reps and had more but my legs were setup weird somehow... Got into my toes too much.

What's the explanation then? I held solid at 188 for a month and in around 10 days put on 4-6 pounds to 194. I'm guess it's total water intake if not the creatine. I went from mono to your stuff so if anything going from mono to designer should have made me lose water weight? Either way the increased creatine is being held in the muscles and used. Processing the by products of the creatine/phosphagen system could require more water and other products but I don't see the increase there. A increased concentration of creatine could cause a slight increase in water retention which is what my guess is causing the slight weight increase, unless it's from the MP, stimul8 or g8. I really don't want to attribute it to the supplements either but it's not magic, there is a physiological cause, and nothing else has change like water intake or diet. I didn't put on 4 pounds of mass that quickly either.
 
oh I don't know an exact reasoning behind your aforementioned weight gain; I would be hypothesizing if I hazarded a guess..synergy of multiple functions, however, is a very powerful concept when put into action

I guess it's more in the context you infer, ie "holding water" is typically an unattractive idea, negative connotations extending to soft spots visually and an overall composition of "bloated" countenance..

forcing nutrients to muscle stores and thereby increasing musculature, and hence the concept "intracellular water" increases -- is entirely different concept, very much a positive, and one not usually herein referred to as "holding water"

Well we just had a little confusion. I see holding water as... Having more water in my body than before. Hahaha! Not at all bad just interesting. I'm certainly not bloated or mushy. Muscle is still very sense as usual. That's what's weird. I can't see anywhere the weight might be. It's just there. It's possible this creatine is just higher quality and I am holding more in the muscles. It's just doing its job better. Hopefully I will be seeing proportional strength increases though. As a PL my strength per pound is important hahaha. I mean I have hit a rep PR in bench. Twice this week. Deads aren't feeling hot from my back. So. We will see what happens come meet time next month and well know ;)


I'm going to be trying to dial back my salt and fat intake a little bit now that I'm gaining mass to keep from getting sloppy. So that should help keep me under 198 as well.

and that was the sense I was getting from you, not "holding water" in the bad sense, but intracellular rather -- big difference
if you are holding water in the bad sense, by all means feel free to share, we do not wish to exclude such feedback if it is applicable; but as I mentioned, this was not the sense I was picking up from you..

intracellular water increase IS hard to pinpoint indeed, you just look bigger, everywhere, with no reduction in quality of composition

all in an attempt to keep clarification level for all of us, my friend, was my goal here

I would be 198. But could have done 181. It's gona be hard to get back there now and still gain strength. I want to be a lean 198 though no sloppy so a solid 190 is better than sloppy 198. I got ya. Was just thinking since you got a pretty nice stack going that adding a couple lbs wouldn't hurt to maximize the experience.
 
Agreed ;) in not cuttin just maintaining bf/recomp. I've been semi dirty bulking for size but I'm where I was be now.

Today's workout. D4w2c11. Squat. Bw -193 Squat. Warm up. 265x5 305x3 340x3 (PR????) 295x3,5 cool down Ham curl -110x10, 5 sets. (Getting stronger on these) Pull-ups 10,7,7 to loosen back after squats. Leg press- 410 as deep as it goes ATG. 5,7,10 (quad killers) Got some food. New squat stance is better. I brought it in. Hit the groove. I have vid of the 340 too. My hips are coming up first on my later sets so I need to keep my body more erect and weight back On my heels more. But otherwise most reps were good. Gota keep working on better and better form.
 
Stack is going good. A little gas both ways today and some indigestion. Good workout however:

Interesting bench day. Couldn't get warmed up and was low on time. Worked up to my 290 opener for 1 and got it easy but form was a little uneven and I wasn't steady. I dropped down, changed my arch/feet to less arch and flat feet and did 245x10 which I'm pretty sure is a PR. A big one. That's a 325 calculated max but at 10 reps that's taken w a grain of salt. Anyways decided to hit 290 again right after that with the same form I used on 245. Was super stable but felt kinda slow. Then again I had just hit a big PR set. I just have to be careful to push back not up or my hips might rise. Anyways I think I can fine tube this flat foot arch to be better than my previous once I get more body arch into it. Problem is there is no time to work on it before the meet. So I'm left wondering what to do.

Did Pull and chin ups push-ups and tris lightly for accessory.

Bw-194. Not sure what to call today since I didn't follow 5-3-1 but it was d1w3c11. Change to meet prep 2 weeks out.
 
Hit my bench opener again tonight, dosed the stimul8 a little higher, now that I am getting used to it more and more I can take more and I feel better on it, I am liking it more and more the longer I take it ;)

Nice pump, vascularity, overall energy focus and drive tonight.

Nice. When I went out to visit my friend in AZ I tried 290 three different times and couldn't get it. Which was strange to me because just a month ago I hit 300 no problem. I've never been able to get my back to arch like that and I've started to change my foot placement because like you I used to be up on my toes but I found that I couldn't generate enough hip drive without having my heels down on the ground.

Dropping the weight back and working on technique/form and hopefully I'll get it back!
 
Thanks man. I've been able to generate the most leg drive from the balls of my feet but your build and the bench you're on will dictate what's best for you.

Here's a thought for you...
So, I competed yesterday. Some of the weights I moved and reps I performed were surprising to me afterward. I'll let you know that what you do in the gym is going to be easier in front of a crowd. I can tell by how you post that your personality is that of a competitor. I believe that you're going to hit your openers easily and be able to make bigger jumps than you think you can, right now. The presence of a crowd screaming at you works wonders for moving heavy things. You're gonna love it.
 
Thanks bro And I agree absolutely. Anytime I shoot vid I lift more because I know people will see it. I'm sure the effect will be amplified. Still I have set some pretty lofty goals for my 3rd attempts so if I hit them ill be pleased.
 
I think "lofty" will have a whole different meaning to you once you've left the platform. There's honestly nothing like people screaming your name when you're trying to move heavy things. Granted, I didn't move anything super heavy (I also only had enough time between pulls to add weight), but the effect of the crowd makes you strong. 325 is gonna happen. Mark my words.
 
I feel ya man. If 550 is super easy I will def go 585. I was tempted to go 600 but, not yet. Unless I literally feel amazing on 550.

325 will make me happy.
 
Meet prep deads Dead- bar. 135x7. 225x3,3,3,3 Focus on form, set up, grip, etc. Still don't like over/under I can't ever get square on the bar consistently. Did some light abs, back extension, Chin ups-15,15 Mobility/stretch session.

What is your reasoning behind trying to pull alternate grip rather than double overhand if you've always pulled double overhand? Were you using straps before?
 
585 is a lot of weight. Can't do that double overhand without straps, at least I'm not sure I can. I can do 500+ without straps overhand. But I don't know exactly where it cuts off and don't like holding that much weight by my finger tips. over/under helps a little bit, but is less comfortable. I use straps on AMRAP sets but that's it.
