I have grip4ce. They come in 2 types: regular and heavy. I like them over fatgripz because you need to squeeze them closed to stay on the bar.

i built an axle, thick handle DBs, and put thick handles on my farmers. same idea and i dont have to worry about that thing slipping. i feel i can do heavier work with the thick bar stuff. but i have my own gym. if you workout at a commercial gym they would be awesome to use.

I have a few sets plus a couple of fat bars. It depends on what you want to use them to accomplish, but if you are any kind of combat athlete, be it mma, BJJ, or wrestling, they are phenomenal. It will take a good 6 months to get used to and get your weights back up, but it is well worth it. Any force you can't exert on an opponents limbs or body, isn't useful. One thing I have not noticed is increased forearm size though.

Some people worry that when using Fat Gripz their grip will fail too early and not provide enough stimulus to the target muscles.

If someone's grip is weak then sometimes I will get them to use Fat Gripz early on in the set and once their forearms give way we will remove them and continue with the smaller diameter handles. This way they know they are still reaching concentric failure on their biceps (as an example) rather than just grip strength.

Here is a video I made on Fat Gripz curls. http://on.fb.me/IfWX1r :)

I use mine on bench work to help keep a looser grip and feel like I'm pressing something flat. I also use during bicep work and you can definitely feel the difference but whether or not it's actually accomplishing anything is anyone's guess.

Pipe insulation from Home Depot or Lowe's for $1.00. Best grip enhancing equipment for the money.
