Sorry no updates in the last couple hours, went 2/3 on the dl, was fcking robbed on my third. The Brits and the Irish are getting me drunk right no, they think I'm nuts.. I'll post the vids of my dl in a little while.

I'm Working on international relations right now.

I think the Achilles is partially torn, I was able to work the knot out a little with the stick.

I'm getting a medal, I just don't know which one yet.

I went to Prague and all I got was a gold medal and a torn Achilles
 
Wife bought me a cane, now I have to go sight see for a few.

This was my third dl I got two red lights:

Wtf? Looked good. The only thing that I couldn't see because of the light, was if your knees unlocked or not. They didn't appear to though.

Regardless, incredible effort.

While it absolutely BLOWS to get hurt like that at a big event like this, the fact that you persevered and didn't stop says more about you than anything else in this log could have. That is some true resolve and pretty damn epic. :)

Thanks guys for your support, I really appreciate it. One of the most disappointing things I learned this week was the political bullshyt that goes on in international comps. There is no doubt in my mind there was an anti western (us, the Brits, Canadians and Irish) vibe. The eastern euro judges (Russians, Ukrainians, khazaks,Czech etc...) were def biased. Case in point: today, there was a Ukrainian judge that bombed 9/12 guys IN ONE FLIGHT. Guess who was bombed: us, the Brits and the Irish. Guess who wasn't bombed: Russians. It's complete bullshyt and we ( us and the Brits) are filing a formal complaint. I don't want to sound like a whiny bitch, but my third deadlift is a good example. And the Russians that red lighted me KNEW I was on one leg. Tomorrow I'll tell you the story of my Irish buddy Ian, nobody here got more ass raped than him. Today there was info going around the Mongolians were sending women to the stage that weren't even on the roster. I don't know how that can happen cause I had to show my passport at weigh in.

I'm tired from drinking w the Brits and the Irish ( and one of the Russian judges that red lighted me) last night. Here's a pic of my medal and my Achilles:

Achilles looks rough brotherman. That medal is so much cooler than it would have been without you dismantling your Achilles. You're badass, buddy.

Yeah, he's good. We just got done going over exactly what he wants me to help him with tomorrow. A couple other of our monsters will be there, 900 lb squatters from Chicago.

Alex came to Prague castle w me and the wife today.

Ryan, I'm learning a shyt ton from him and the other guys. Even though I'm the weakest one by a magnitude of 10, I have some cred now for finishing w a torn Achilles...

thanks Sean, I'm just some dufus who learned this week that I have to reexamine how I train. What I'm doing isn't enough. I have to spend some time training like a (gasp) bodybuilder.

I threw up in my mouth a little just typing that...
 
Oh yeah, I almost forgot: at medals last night I was half in the bag - thanks Brits and Irish, Nobody had an American flag w them so when I got up there I took my team USA jacket off, turned it around so everyone could see it and held it over my head.

There were some boos in the crowd of about 1k

Honestly herder, I'm not sure yet. I failed miserably but managed to medal. 5/9 is not good, anywhere, anytime. The most important lesson I learned this week is what I'm doing isn't enough. EVERY single 90 kg was so much bigger than me it's depressing. I have to change gyms - which sucks because mine is at the end of my street.

I never doubted my nuts because I've been I way worse situations than this, what's bothering me the most is that my body failed me. I thought there was gonna be about 25% chance my Achilles was gonna go, but I didn't think it was going to happen.

Getting the opportunity to talk training w Greg demming (he's gonna open w 780!), and Alex and the guys from Chicago; pirate, tony ( 900 squatter and pat - 850 squatter, you just can't put a price on these things. Pirate - Byron Hicks, has a gym in Chicago that I'm going to be making some trips to - 4 hours, there's an opportunity for me to learn.

I think now mrs napalm understands how important this is to me, my biggest challenge is going to be going to a new gym - the gym that botched nationals and I'm not totally sure that I want to be associated with a botched nationals

Switch gyms, screw their reputation, get big, and continue being badass.
