Felt good, body feels recovered nicely from earlier in the week where I was dying in the hips. Back getting stronger again.

This was with Smoker and another friend at his new home set up. More workouts will be there in the future. Very cool set up.

5/3/1 week next week. Can't freaking wait.
 
Very nice place. It was fun and a good workout. Hopefully next time I won't have work so soon after.

Did a recovery day. As I up the deadlift and squat weight/intensity it is taking longer to heal.

-7 minutes bike
-hyper extensions
-be Bulgarian splits
-barbell only 1 leg RDLs
-voodoo floss elbow
-superD shoulder stuff
-kStarr hip stuff
-rotator cuff(internal external high rep rotations)
-spinal floss
-Eric Cressy stretches

Also, reached the 210 mark! Weighed in at 210.2 this morning. Finally!

Bench tomorrow. I may order this slingshot sleeves.. herderdude do you think there is a chance of dependence? Worth the buy?

I typically always abide by the recommended servings and what not. If it's a low stim pre I may do more because of my tolerance.
As far as game day it was good at 4 scoops lol next time Ill just do 1-1/2. They should make that scoop thing more clear thou

Recovery has been rough. I've, unfortunately, been skipping OHP day.

Right now my number one goal is to feel good on 3 different lifts on December 15th.

Would still like to add in OHP day again though.

Hit bench today, it was good and bad.

I have like 4 videos I need to put together on the PC, so a full update will happen once I have the videos together. May not be until after tomorrow's squats.

Oh, I switched those days up this week to see if it makes the forearm feel better.

Oh I am squatting tomorrow. I switched the days to see if the forearm feels better for bench if I don't squat before hand in the week. Set to go to 305 in the program. May reverse band higher up to get used to heavier. We shall see.

A power clean is not a squat variant sunny Jim.

They were pretty cool. I wish they were a hair tighter though. I was at a weird measurement where I didn't fit exactly into one size.

Overall worth the less than 20 they cost.

It was going bad, form was off, blah. 220 for an ugly triple. Then one more bad one. Did sling shot up 265 for a pr and it was easy. Went back to 220 for a paused single and it went like butter this time. Weird bench day lol

And powercleans are a great lift man. I no know why you hate.

You know I have been as well. If it hurts you, don't do it. That said I hit some the other day! They were weak (maxed at like 155x1) but I didn't really hurt after. A little tightness.

Power cleans are good for training explosive strength off the ground for deadlift but there are better options IMO. I don't see the carryover to squat.

Not really. The percentage of your DL that you could powerclean is so low it'll have very little carryover.

Besides the fact that it would take a very long time, under a very experienced oly coach, to learn.

On top of the fact that even the first pull in the power clean is very technically different than the DL.
 
Neuromuscularly and mentally the initial pull off the floor is very similar and the differences in setup aren't that great, but I do tend to agree with you Jim. Explosive strength is still a great benefit though which is key in the pull. I don't think the clean should be a staple but it's something that can be worked in from time to time. Fast off the floor, tight PC, bar tight to body without rubbing, maintaining momentum, weight back on heels and force through the hips are all similar cues between the two.

Not regularly at all. IMO way better exercises. Good for athletes, fighters, sprinters, more than PL IMO. I just train explosive pulls not PL. I hit them a few months ago and can still so like 245. But they really murder the traps and upper back which could be good as well as the explosive legs/hips. All depends what you're training for. Not the best for what I wana do. What's your motivation for doing them?

I just wouldn't worry too much about them if your goal is a total in PL. Nothing against the exercise, and if you have the time in the routine and like it go for it, just don't replace a squat or dead. That would be a bad idea IMO.

Always had interest in it, never attempted Bc of shoulder issue so I was scared lol thougt it could help my total also, but you guys are saying not much so maybe i won't.
