Purus Labs Build Sixxer up in the off season

Poptarts just have that nostalgia feel/taste to them.

The normal are pretty fat heavy. Strong discipline opening a pack and eating one. ;)

Yeah, I don't really get cravings for sweets. I think I eat so much cereal and high GI foods on this diet I never want sweet food. Eating 1 pop tart is easy. I had some peanut butter pop tarts, they were amazing.

My weight is hanging around the same since day 1. I was hoping to slowly climb about a lb or 2 a week. Strength is the same.

I am enjoying the flavor of both condense and d pol. Looking forward to two weeks from now. I am hoping strength and weight increase. My vascularity is looking really good intra workout. Post workout is insaine. I am not siting near contest shape and still have veins through my obliques. Crushing legs tonight. I have a client that wants to compete late 2014 that am training with. Gotta leave em hurting.

I crave my sons snacks on cuts for contest.

He eats peanut butter oreo's, pop tarts, and turtle cookies. My wife is the culprit of the turtle cookies. She bakes them on a weekly basis for her and my son. Both are rails too. You'd think by this post they'd be fat a$$3$. But my wife is 5-6 118lbs and my son is 43" and 40lbs. He is a rail at 5 yrs old, but he is active. Plays soccer karate and swims a bout 3-4 times a week.


On a side note. I destroyed my legs and I want to cry. I am already in pain severe pain. I love training with young eager clients. This guy is a go getter. I first started off with just making his routines and diet. Now I have been training him twice weekly and he pushes himself. I though he was going to puke post leg press. I know I was swallowing mine. As a trainer, I don't show weakness; I just keep pushing. Today was one I the most beastly leg workouts I ve had in a while. I will update later.

I will also send you a book on Carb back loading, which is the diet I am doing now. It's not something I ve done before this year. I am normally very tradition in the terms of dieting. I love carb cycling for cutting fat an believe a lot in Shelby Starnes practices. It's the most effective dieting tactics I ve ever learned.

Thanks. He is making great strives. I have another boy getting ready for physique, this boy is getting freaky cut and big. I want him to let me post up his progress. I believe he doesn't like his pre bc he is so different looking now. But he has good discipline and works hard.

227.5 lbs


Weigh is holding strong in the 227 lbs range. No noticeable strength gains, which is in par with expectations at this point. I have been on D- Pol am condense for only a few days and this diet for about 3 weeks. However, I am maintaining a steady weight, steady energy, and feel really good. Normally, when I eat crap I feel like crap. I have strayed well out of my norm for this diet and do not feel even a least bit held back. I feel great.

Condense is quite a surprise, I am very happy with the good boost of energy, pumps, and focus I am bringing to the gym. Even being carb less till post workout, I feel mad pumps and have the urge to keep training. I am using 1.5 scoops which makes condense a 30 serving container at that dose.

D- Pol is being taken with food and vitamins, I and also tanning a couple days a week to keep vitamin d high.


450- woke up
550- coffee
650- coffee
730- BCAA
1030- vegie/ turkey lasagna - low carb, zucchini is used in place of noodles
230- chicken breast/ spinach
455- beef/ green beans - d pol, multi, and caffeine

555- condense and creatine 1.5 scoops
605 - trained legs - BCAA
745- change up- fruit protein shake- bloated as hell
830- homemade chicken quesadilla
930- finished protein shake from earlier- I ll explain later. Gotta run.

Yup, there are other factors such as bone strength and more. But the test support is the focus for muscle building.

Ill be missing the gym for next few days... Pulled a muscle in ribs and it is the most unbelievable pain I've had in a while.

Look a like I am going to be hitting the VitD a little more. What is the recommendation of daily dowsing?

I don't supplement it with a pill, I tan and get sun exposure. Nothing trumps UV exposer when it come to Vit D.

I ve been to two supplement seminars both had classes on vitamin d and both showed studies stating that pill supplementation and injection were both inferior to a uv tanning bed or regular exposure to sunlight.

That was part of one study. They took 50 or so people from here and other high sun exposure areas to test their Vit D. Most were low. The reason is we always have clothes on to block us from direct sunlight. Roofers and careers like that usually have adequate vit d.
 
Ok update for Friday August 23, 2013

I was up through the night with my son. He was sick coughing and throwing up. He had to stay home from school.

630-830 - I layed down gor a couple hours
830- coffee
1000- eggs, turkey bacon, avocado
1230- beef, cabbage Asian salad, see photo
230- protein shake, dpol, fit multi vitamin
230- tanned
250-condense, creatine
310- workout back
4 trained biceps with a client
500- finished up with 44g of iso and waxy maize
630- dinner white rice and homemade chicken nuggets
800- cereal
930- oatmeal with casein

Spikes insulin post workout. I want the quickest response. Maltodextrin dextrose and waxy maize are the quickest carbs. Waxy maize is cheap and effective. Now the products like karbolic and karbolyn are more complete for both quick and sustained carbs. But much more expensive.

Proof of insulin spike. Those who use insulin, such as pro body builders, use waxy maize with insulin. If it didn't work they would go hypo from the insulin.
 
Workout from Friday August 23,2013


Well I missed Thursday as I said earlier, so back was the main focus today.

I took my pre and wanted to get in and just hurt myself. Condense was very good, and I wanted to drink more bc I like the flavor.

I got in about 5 min after taking condense. I put my son in kiddie gym and went over to hit bent over rows. As soon as I set my weights up, here comes this old man, he stops and starts talking. I kinda rudely gave short answers to retarted questions, such as so how often do you work out, I see you here a lot. Should I eat chicken or beef? I was kinda annoyed as all get out. I put my beats over my ears and began to lift, to Lincoln Park. Good timing. I did a warm up set. Stretched out a bit. And another warmup. The guy is still standing over my weights.

I started to change out to a working set and he started to help. He was talking but I couldn't hear him due to the beats. I did a working set and he signaled for me to take off my headphones. Just began rambling. I said I have to do my sets, I don't have much time. He walked away but came back twice to talk. So annoyed I couldn't get my groove. But tried the best I could.

Back routine-

Bent over rows-

2 warmup set

4 working sets

Reverse grip bent over rows

3 sets 12 reps.


Skipped t bar bc the d-bag was standing there wanting to talk.

Went to wide grip pull downs

2 light sets

3 heavy sets

1 drop set

Reverse grip mts row on hammer strength

Started heavy 90 lbs each arm and did it till failure all the way to 20 lbs moving down by 10's then rested 2 min and did the same thing moving back up

Single arm db rows

3 sets 8 reps

Wanted more but had to train biceps with a client.

Biceps

2 sets 15 reps each arm warm up


Preacher curl

5 sets 5-8 reps heavy as hell.

1 major drop set. 90,80,70,50,30 all till failure no rest, just enough to switch


Wide grip bb curls super setted with outside db curls

60lbs bb for 10 rep x2 sets
30lbs db for 6-8 reps x 2 sets



Close grip bb curls super setted with across body db curls

60lbs bb for 10 rep x2 sets
30lbs db for 6-8 reps x 2 sets



Hammer curls super setted with incline seated iso curl

Hammer db heavy heavy heavy for 5,5,4,5 reps

Seated iso curl- 8 reps ea but didn't finish last two sets made it to 6


Then finished with db @ 35,30, 27.5, 25, 22.5, 20, 17.5, 15, 12.5, and 10 all till failure. Hard flex nice twist on top end and slow concentration on eccentric motion. I wanted to scream it hurt so bad. I was soaked with sweat couldn't drink my bcaa's or remove my beats.

Once my client joined me my intensity went through the roof. Energy was high and focus was the best it's been. I was in the zone.
 
Now for Saturday August 24


Great day! Day for fantasy football draft and party. I have a big draft party each year.

Woke up, met a client (female) trained her for half hour and did posing for 1/2 hour. Wow is her body crazy right now. She has really transformed into another level. Legs and butt are out of this world. Calves are just amazing. Her mid section is tight. She is 5 weeks out and looks 1 week out.

Then hit the gym for me and hard too.

Hamstrings.

Standing ham curls single leg

2 warmup

5 working , last doing a reverse pyramid down from 100 to 40 lbs


Straight leg deads

5 sets of 8 reps


Lying leg curls.

Make sure hips stay down and did
3 sets of 8 heavy

Did 2 sets of seated leg curls

1 set of 8-10 second holds as many as I could

1 set of half reps till failure

Dead lifts

1 set of 8
3 sets of 5, last set was 8 reps



Diet way off due to ff party

Morning coffee protein smoothy
Gym and condense then BCAA
Post workout protein and 1/2 serving of waxy maize
Then at the party 3pm to 7pm 4 pieces of pizza and about 10 wings and 3 beers, I really don't drink very often
900 chicken breast and yogurt

Oh I was going to say earlier. I eat a lot of gluten free meals and mainly prefer it due to gluten making me feel bloated. But I am not 100% gluten free. I go with the flow till pre comp. About 15 weeks out is all about me.

I've gone gluten free to see if it clears/minimizes my psoriasis. Seems it is help to some degree. I'm going to have to give your pork rinds and chunk chicken a go for some chicken nuggets

I cut the chicken into 1 inch squares the. Throw them into egg then pork rinds. I then bake them on 350 for about 20 minutes.
 
Sugar free BBQ and nuggets breaded with pork rinds? Bam! I'm getting good stuff from your log every day!

Awesome man, I like throwing out as many ideas as I can for peeps. When you go through contest reps you start to get creative.
 
Update for August 25, 2013-

Woke up and weighed in at 226.8 lbs, I expected to be more from my intake the day prior.

Mad an awesome Coffee smoothy to take to church with me. (1 scoop Choclate ISO-100, 1 TBSP PB, 2oz Coconut Milk, 2oz Almond Milk, 5-6 oz intant coffer in hot water poured over 8 ice cubes, 2 splenda- Blend to perfection)

Meal-2 Egg Omelet with Beef, Tomatoes, Cheese, jalepenos, and onion, served with sourcream and salsa. from this mom and pop restaurant
Gym time- condense and creatine- HIIT style workout with
meal 3- maltodextrin and ISO whey
Meal 4- White Rice and CHicken
Meal 5- Cereal 2 bowls, Casein and WHey
Meal 6 Chicken and Oatmeal

Gym Routine-
HIITstyle weight training

Bench press - 1 min non stop 2 min rest, 1 min lateral cable row, 2 min rest- repeat 3 times
1 Min hammer strength declin press, 1 minute plank- 4 minute rest-3 sets
1 minute incline sit ups, 30 sec superman stretch- 4 minute rest- 3 sets
1 fluter kicks, 1 minute push ups- 4 minute rest- 3 sets

done

not a bad little fly by your seat routine. Did this with a client 5 weeks out from his first contest.
