Purus Labs Build Sixxer up in the off season

Man my Quads are so sore today. I had to walk up a flight of stairs and barely made it. DOMS is kicking in big time. I did quads on Wednesday; Wednesday night they were sore when I woke up. Thursday not too bad. Thursday evening a little sore. Last night, I woke up to use the bathroom and thought I was ging to have to crawl. All day today they have been sore. Much more then normal. I guess that's a good thing.

I get this way.... I tend to take it easy because it affects my job. I had to drive somewhere the othe day, sat for an hour an barely could get out the truck. Was fine when i started walking around a bit but damn they hurt. My kid was jumpin on me that night and I could barely stand it.

Tell me about it. My five year old loves to wrestle. Some days I have to just take the pain. You are right once you get moving it feels 10 x's better.

I cant wait to run them together. Should be a fun month.

I am reading up on you Mountain Dog Program. I ve read about the first 6 -7 pages yesterday. I have a friend that trains the mountain dog program. He has worked with Meadow's and has a good sense of the program. Seems that its pretty effective.

Well yesterday was another day I felt tired upon waking. Really didn't sleep well, also didn't sleep well last night either. But had a large cup of coffee and a caffeine tab about an hour or 2 after waking and I felt much better through the day. Hit the gym strong yesterday, I really felt great while I was training and after. Had good intensity and good pump. And that was the Hamstrings only.

Hams:
Standing Single Leg Curls
2 warm up
5 Heavy Heavy Heavy - for 8 reps
1 pyramid down- WOW that was deadly

Straight Leg Deads:
3 sets 8-10

Good Mornings:
3 sets 8

Seated Leg Curls/ supersetted with walking Lunges (body weight)
3 sets 12/10each leg lunges
1 hold set
1 set half reps

Dead Lifts:
1x12
1x10
1x8- felt strong even though I didn't go as heavy as normal

Calves:
3 sets till failure about 40-50 reps of 225lbs per set


DONE! I was exhausted, But energized by a good workout.
I trained a new client just before training, which got my blood flowing and gave me a good start.

I will up diet shortly!

Not as clean as normal, but that why you have an off season :) Man does pizza taste good.

Was suppose to train a guy, but I think he cancelled, I cant quite tell from the text. If so, it actually works out to give me a bit more time, plus a little extra to get some paperwork done that Ive been neglecting.

First serving of D-Pol custard creme.
12oz water, taste was good. A very sweet tangy flavor.

Took this with a Formutech Nutrition Fit for Men multi and a small pre meal.

About 20 or so I will hit up condense and mix my BCAA up.

Initial thoughts of D-Pol Custard Creme:

As I have mentioned, I am a fan of DAA based supplements. Normally I buy DAA in bulk, but my issue is getting it to taste good. The only way I have figured out to blunt the tartness was to make a strong fruit shake or just drink the sh!t down. I usually do the second, drink it down. If a sup works you take it, no matter the taste. As far as D-Pol is concerned, I have used it in the past as part of pct. I have used two bottle of the tablets. It was very effective for my use. Now, with this custard creme, I first noticed a awesome vanilla scent. It was strong when I piped the top. It smelt awesome. I mixed it in cold water with a shaker. It mixed well an tasted very good. It had a tartness that went with the vanilla surprisingly well. I liked it. I did have a bit of left over powder post consumption. Little grains. I just mixed the condense in the same bottle.





Initial thoughts in apple crisp condense:

Once again, I could smell a strong odor upon opening. It was a crisp apple smell. Very potent smell. I expected it to be slightly strong flavored due to the odor. I mixed 1.5 scoop pre workout with 15 oz of cold water. It mixed well. Looked as if it was cloudy water, no coloring. I let it sit for about 5 mi. Maybe a tad longer before consuming it. Taste was excellent. Not too strong, not too weak. Very very good on flavor. Writhing about 5-10 minutes I could feel that burning sensation. My skin began to tingle and I was ready to go.


Now to the nitty gritty.... The workout, the effects, and everything after.

I will update in a few. I had some spare time and wanted to get this up. I will give my diet and workout outlay soon.

Gym Time.

After taking my D-Pol and Condense, I head out to the gym. I love Saturday's in the gym. I am always the biggest dude there. LOL. Makes me feel good.

It was arm day, So I was happy with starting Condense with a small muscle group like arms. Something to get those big pumps off of and push out the veins. As soon as I warmed up, I felt very hot. My arms were hot, and I could feel myself getting hotter. Very similar to when I take a thermo pre workout.

Biceps-
Warm up with 25lbs db- 2 sets of 15 each arm- started feeling hot

Preacher Curl-
70-lbs- 10- veins were already our nice pre workout and they kept coming. Fore arms looked sick

45-7 - when I finished this set I was soaked with sweat. I love feeling hot. I really felt a lot warmer then normal

60-lbs-10/ 25lbs-10 each arm- 2 sets- I kept looking at the thickness of my arms in the mirror. I was mirin-wishing they always looked that big

High Elbow Cable Curls-
3 sets till failure

Fore arms-

3 sets of front wrist curls

3 sets behind the back wrist curls- these hurt so bad, I wanted to scream. I would quit and just pace till the next set.


back to biceps to finish them off-
starts at 35lbs and went by 2.5lbs down to 10lbs doing DB curls till failure with each weight - I just felt I had to do something more to set my biceps off. I felt like I could keep going.



During this workout, I definitely felt tons of energy. I was anticipating working out, so I could start condense. I felt solid, my arms were definitely pumped and I made sure to punish them. I had no crash from the energy and felt goo the remainder of the evening. I dosed about 530 and went to bed like normal at 1000pm without any problem sleeping. I will keep you posted, but so far so good.

If you were to go to gym at 5am how would you fit in a meal? Or would you fasted train with BCAA being sipped throughout?

For bulking I would and training at 5 am I would do this for CBL. I would experiment with the routine. In the e book, if you to the back there is a early morning CBL routine for meals. I am not sure if I am along the lines, but that's what I would hypothesize the routine would look like.

430- wake up, coffee, caffeine or pre
5am- gym time, sip on bcaa through workout
Post workout, coffee 10g whey
1030- meal 1 protein/ fat
1pm- meal 2 protein fat
330-4 snack whey/almonds or pb
600- high glycemic carb/ protein/ min fat
800- high GI carb/ protein
Bedtime high GI carb/ protein shake

Today was a low/ no carb day. No weight training. But still had to get up way to early to go to work.

430am wake up
530 am coffee- (remember I put 10g whey in my coffees and coconut milk)
1030- meal 1- 3/4 cup egg whites,onion mushrooms, 5 slices Turkey bacon , 1/4 avocado
1130-coffee
230- lean beef/ asparagus
530- heat up some beef an broccoli and stuff went crazy at work so I didn't eat it
730- finally ate 6 oz lean beef and 6 oz chicken breast, 6 oz broccoli with a 0 carb 0 calorie stir fry mix
900- cottage cheese ff, 1/4 scoop protein, 1 tbls nati pb, and a supreme protein carb conscious bar all blended up

Was a very good night time snack. Surprised how well it tasted.
 
Okay, so even if you are doing morning workouts, carbs should still be loaded at night.. I was thinking it would be tough for me to do CBL because I only have time for AM workouts typically..

What do you guys think is the best BCAA's for the money. I have used them before especially since I workout before eating in the AM but I didn't really notice any difference..

I use Formutech Nutritions Endurance BCAA plus. It has Beta Alanine, COP, citrulline malate, and glutamine, plus a full serving of BCAA.

I think cost wise it is slightly more then the Xtend. Maybe a couple bucks. If you want some samples pm me your address and I will send you some.
 
Xtend is still my go to personally. Love the taste and product.
Until Purus EAA comes out this is my go to.

When are these EAA 's hitting the market. Something to substitute my huma pro pre comp ?
 
Alright cool, I'm gonna try Xtend when I have some extra dough. What I like about BCAA's is that they are refreshing like Kool Aid when water gets really boring. I liek the idea of adding EAA's, Beta Alanine and Glutamine
 
Hist Chest and Bis this morning. I got some major swollage and felt great all around. Condense seems very simple on the ingredients, yet it really is formulated just right, especially stacked with the D. I had trouble bending my arms above me to take my shirt off to get in the shower because of the pump, haha.

Also getting really close to Bench goal which is 225x8 for 3 sets.

4:00 Monster Protean Energy drink (16 g's whey isolate), package pepper beef jerky (it's 7-11 on my break, gotta plan ahead lol)
6:30 8oz pork tenderloin, green beans, salad
9:00 2 scoops muscle milk, 2 cups skim milk

Weight 227.0


Well yesterday weight was coming off a low carb day. I dropped a bit again, no big deal, just water from no carbs. I am keeping relatively tight. I loaded a ton of carbs post yesterday. But was a bit upset with dinner. People don't understand how food effects the body. They don't understand that there are people that plan their diets and have certain macro needs.

I will explain^ So my wife asked if I could help one of her friends husbands put a swing set/ play house together yesterday evening. In return they would grill out steaks and have baked potatoes. Great, fits perfect into my diet. Well I got there and busy my butt, I was soaked from head down with sweat. It is florida. Once we finished it, my wife was there and they decided to order pizza from Pizza Hut of all places. So my diet was lacking that steak and potato, which fit my diet much better. This was the second time something like this has happened with these same people. Last time I was pre comp so had no choice but leave to eat. Just makes me mad.

Yeah, I am going by the book with these simple carbs. I choose fruity pebbles and cocoa crispies or pebbles bc they are rice cereals over oat or corn. Higher GI then my honey nut Cheerios.

I love pop tarts. It's funny last time I was logging a diet everyone thought it was funny that I would eat one in between gym and soccer practice. But its simple good and easy to eat. Loaded with carbs. I buy the reduced fat but I think it still have 4 g.

I got the idea of pop arts from a good friend out of Utah. He is a power lifter and its his everyday post. It cures the sweet tooth.
