Looking much leaner sir. Getting stronger to I see from that last training post. I watched that video of the ab choppers and learned that I have done those before. My trainer must have called it something else and we used a medicine ball. Always learning something new on here.

Thank you and yes, getting stronger. I hadn't focused too much on strength up to this point. From here on out I will be gearing things toward getting stronger/moving heavier weight.
I also hadn't been doing much an specific work. I will be putting ab work back into my daily workouts (weighted knee raises, weighted sit-ups, choppers etc...)

Thanks man. Long journey. I just looked at my first pic compared with my last one and it makes me want to keep going. A little over four months so far and I'm not winging it anymore so progress is coming faster nowadays. All I know is that I want a fukking avocado real bad.

Thank you sir. I have some big shoes to fill watching you guys go through prep. I now know what it's like and it's hard. I commend you on being able to maintain this for long periods of time.

Chest day.

I didn't track my whole workout yesterday. Some things were off the cuff, which is rare for me but it was fun nonetheless. I've been trying to implement heavier lifts back into my training with longer rests ~30 seconds more and less repetitions.
I also implemented incline hex presses, which I feel are an awesome chest exercise. Trying to build some quality mass as the diet gets adjusted a little to allow for more growth rather than just getting rid of my less desirable tissue.

Disappointing day. Injured my lower back on rack pulls so I shut everything down pretty early.

Rack Pulls
315x4 (lower back pinged on fourth rep so I shut everything down). Having a tough time walking and I ate a few flexorils to remedy it. Hopefully I'm good to go again by next week. We'll see.
 
Hm just popped in. Do you have an existing condition with the lower back or was this an isolated tweak? I've gotta remedy for it if it's a tweak. Good work man. Hips came up a bit early but that's solid weight for ya.

Nothing pre-existing. Isolated tweak. I have no lifting injuries so I consider myself very lucky. No shoulder impingement even.

I tweaked mine the other day. Lower back and hip pain. Flexors hurts, sides of the hip hurt, glute, lower back. I laid on a lacrosse ball, feet up in a chair at 90deg, rolled my high on my glute along and just above the pelvic bone, each side.

Also had an SI joint issue from it and this fixed it:

Those are mild forms of how I used to have to reset mine and some of my therapy. After the bad dislocation I have never had another so that's the only good thing. SIJ disfunction blows and the prevention through mobility exercises and proper training is a goal of mine after I get done with school.
 
Good vid bro. I'd say ditch the straps for some chalk but not really a big deal. Start pulling that bar closer to your shins. I have to wear long socks on DL day cuz I've shredded em up to the point of bleeding many a time but it makes for a better pull. Keep in mind you're using your back more than you need to. Imagine sitting back while pulling at the same time; you'll feel yourself driving through your heels more and that's a good thing. You raised your ass too soon as well. I'm sure my pulls don't look all that pretty and I do not espouse to be a professional, just telling you what I saw. I need to jump on this video trend going on around here and have y'all put me on blast as well. Do work
 
I didn't even see your vid til now. Sit back, but down, bar to your shins and hands just outside that. Back flat and tight and rip through your heels.
 
I don't train for strength by any means but when I saw the video I mentioned trying to drive his ass into the ground. Beyond the jokes that can be derived from that does it make sense to anyone else? Thats what I think if when deadlifting at least.

Yeah that's a good way of thinking about it. You want your power to be centralized in your hips, with low back and legs "assisting" all as a fluid movement. Keeping the hips down makes sure you are using both and focusing on driving with them.

On another note, I'm having a pretty hard time getting around right now since hurting my back. I picked up a lacrosse ball and I've been doing some stretching but it's still hampering my mobility. I'm sure a couple of days of rest will help it out.

Search for a sports therapist/masseuse. The one I went to only charges 50/half hour (then gave a mil discount) It'd be worth it man. Look up trigger point therapy and see if any of the pains you are having relate to that at all.
 
Hopefully you heal up in a few days. Back injures always linger for days and make the whole day miserable. Maybe you'll get some pity from the family and they will treat you different for a few days bringing you meals and letting you pick what to watch on TV.

Alright, so I went and played some softball yesterday (as I do every Saturday). Back was a little right to start and loosened up throughout the day (we play a doubleheader). Took today as a rest day from everything and to judge how the back is going to feel. It gets pretty tight if I sit around for a while so I'm trying to keep that to a minimum. I'll be back in the gym tomorrow morning to give it a true test.
