breezy's training, supplementation, and food log

PM your address, I'll send ya a slice! lol

I find my dreams very vivid on it..I do get night terrors at times, but for the most part sleep is rest full.

I'll take one of the slices with Frank's.

Luckily I don't think I've ever had night terrors. I'm just out cold until I wake up.

Hope you get to feelin better bud. I'm finally getting over ear infections/ cold that I've had since Easter! Pizzas look bomb by the way

Those pizzas look awesome. I was considering making my a homemade pizza the other day while I was getting groceries.

Hope that cold and sore throat go away and doesn't have a negative effect on training. Sore throats are seriously the worst though.

Thanks man. Glad you're feeling better; that must've been awful. I don't think I'm dealing with anything too serious. Yes they do.

I've been considering it since about 15 minutes ago lol.

Thanks kbayne. I haven't had one this bad in a few years.

The last sore throat I had was awful. Could hardly get anything down without wanting to die haha. I really haven't been sick in quite sometime though.

Good that you were able to still get your LISS in.... Hope you feel better brother and rest up. I'm using PowerFULL now. To start with I wasn't sure if I liked it as I got some very disturbing dreams where I wasn't sure if I was asleep or awake, but I have to admit now my sleep is very deep.
I always have interesting dreams on PowerFULL. They aren't disturbing or nightmares, but they always have me scratching my head when I wake up. Personally I like it; it's like a new adventure every night. :)

For the most part that is how my dreams are as well. I have always had night terrors every now and then. I suppose what I mean is, with my dreams becoming to vivid - the night terrors can feel almost too real. It's like I wake up in the dream, and think I am awake, but I am not and crazy sh*t happens. Pretty freaky! lol

By the way, I am not putting down PowerFULL with these comments, if anything it proves how well it works.

That makes sense. For a little while I was suffering from sleep paralysis, not from any supplement but just from not getting enough sleep. I was so tired that I would fall asleep and go straight to REM sleep which was causing the paralysis. If I didn't bring myself out of it immediately I would start hallucinating, like I could see the room I was in but I was also dreaming up other things. NOT a good experience. I actually tried PowerFULL® for the first time around then and it totally fixed my problem. My sleep quality improved so much that I wasn't so tired any more and didn't get the paralysis.

...this is exactly what I am talking about. I have night terrors, where things are happening. I think I have woken up but I cannot move, then I realize I am still asleep and while I am struggling with myself to wake up, the 'terror' continues but feels even more real. Usually I then wake up, but have to get out of bed for a moment, or I will drift right back into it. Did not realize it was called this....interesting. And I f**king hate it!

Most people get sleep paralysis when waking up, like you do. Sometimes people get it while falling asleep, which is what I'm prone to. It only happens when I am extemely sleep deprived though, which isn't often these days because I use my PowerFULL® and average around 7 hours of sleep per night. I learned to draw myself out of it immediately by trying very hard to move a small part of my body, and it generally works, but I haven't experienced it but maybe 4 times in the last couple of years.

...these episodes for me hit ...within 20 minutes of going to sleep.. I can go to be at 1130... and fight myself awake from one.. and the clock says 1150.. so what you are saying sounds very accurate..

I'm not sure what is typical for the type that you have. For what I have, I go straight from being awake to being in a paralyzed state. There's no sleep in between.

Yes you do. I remember a few very interesting dreams from your log :D

There were just 2 explosions at the finish line of the Boston marathon...awful.

3 dead and a dozen injured I heard. umass library evacuated too. you in the city breezy?

I just heard it went up to 23 injured at this point. I saw a picture of smoke coming from the library, but they didn't know what happened yet. I was this morning, but am not currently.

my wife left the city as it happend thank god. terrible

Glad she got out of there. I guess it was a mechanical fire at the JFK Library.

Edit: just heard the fire/explosion could be related.

115x8
115x8
115x7, 65x6

-Assuming bar is 65lbs. It should be, based on what I was able to do.

- Fat bar allowed my grip to go out another 2 inches on each side, which made these very tough.

120x12 / 45x25
140x8 / 45x20

-2sec hold/3sec negative on laterals

Reverse Machine Incline Press (2sec squeeze/3sec negative)
180x8
180x8, x12 partials (out of top)

-Partials were a nice addition, which really hit my traps.

Rear Delt Swings / Spider crawls

30x25 / 3
30x25 / 3

Horizontal Press / 6 ways / 3D Band Pull Aparts

15mins: bike

I see those 10s on the h-press. Went beast on that superset. Never thought 10s could be so brutal and you stepped it up even further. Nice.

Those supersets were painful. I wanted to yell, but just made ridiculous faces instead.

I've learned to accept that my face is not going to draw positive attention when I lift. I'm sure I've left a lot of people with the "WTF?" expression when I'm trying to get strong. Facts of life.

It's even better when you're doing it with 8-10lb weights and a rubber band.

Bwahahaha, no doubt. I've gotten some pretty funny looks over those horizontal presses. I'm sure they'll catch on, but too many people are ashamed to push 5lb DBs. I'm sure if I laid on a ball and did them, everyone in the gym would be doing them the next day.

You're probably right.

Tragic as. Can never understand why people do these kinds of things.

Yeah, I can't believe it. There were a couple more explosive devices that were found as well. I'm still waiting to hear from some friends that were running or watching. I believe cell phone service in the area was shutdown because they could be used as detonators.

I hope they find whoever did it. I heard an 8 year old child was killed in one of the blasts; a child who had done nothing wrong. Makes me sick

Really is horrible and just sad what happened today at the Boston Marathon. I've been watching videos on it already. There is one on ESPN and they got a live shot of one of the explosions and an older person was running and when the explosion went off he/she just fell to the ground.

I heard the same. I think if it's some kind of terrorist group responsible, they'll probably want credit for it.

I decided to stop watching it for now. Some of the earlier local stuff was pretty bad.

I'm stationed just north of bean town. I can't believe how crazy it is. Been looking at the pictures. I think it shows more than that news clip.

I could only imagine the local stuff was pretty bad to watch/see.

Starnes variation (standard bar)

No HIIT today. My workout was longer than usual and I was sweating up a storm. You can see that my shirt is drenched in the video.

Starnes Example

So the wide grip with a shrug added at the top for meadows variation? I like that. The wide grip is nice and I'm sure that shrug at the top adds a nice burn. I can't do them with multiple 45s as grip becomes an issue. I use smaller plates to add weight so I can maintain my grip on the one 45. My arms are short...

Yeah, but I use a short bar for the Meadows variation (I think he does too) because I can't do much of a shrug when using the standard bar. If I use a standard bar, I drop the shrugging movement or just do the Starnes variation.

Here's Meadows doing them:

Yup, I use the same method as far as weight placement, keeping that inner 45 clear for grip purposes. Glad I got that part right...

Damn servers are blocking the vid's.. guess I shall look tonight..

I tell ya, work is always getting in the way...

I only use 1 45lb plate per side if using a standard bar and stick with 2 25lb plates (total) for the Starnes variation. My upper back is currently on fire from them.

You're not missing much with my video...it's just part of warm-up set.

I hear you.
