What is your favorite cheat meal?

That is insane. I picked up almost my bodyweight in chicken thighs for 0.69 per lb a couple weeks ago.

Hmmm i always wonder about USA chicken. Heard a few stories about steroids and GM chickens.

Maybe Australia is just fu**ed.

I'm getting in on that bacon wrapped asparagus tonight for dinner. Can't waiiit.

Cream Cheese Cake....

I love your vids dude. You make it look so easy!

What i cook is not hard..

Take a chicken breast and cut it up.
Put BBQ Sauce in a bowl and mix in chicken.

Toast buns and add in Chicken+BBQ Sauce = Chicken sandwiches..

lol

I don't know why i spend $75 on three buffalo chicken sandwiches at hooters when i could make 30 of these for the same price.

I'm going to make them this week for sure. Maybe add a rack of ribs in there too.

GAME ON!

Chicken BBQ in a crock pot would also work well. Makes a ton and keeps the meat nice and tender for sammiches.

Is it a white bread bun?

If so i was reading its white because its bleached and stripped of its nutrients (white processed flour) and the body doesn't know wtf to do with it.

Just what i heard!

your body knows exactly what to do with it. same thing it does with everything else! It digests it and breaks it down into its component molecules of glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids.

Where do you hear this bull crap from?
Read above. White bread may lack nutrients compared to wheat but are you stating that 25g of carbs out of your entire diet is going to ruin hitting your micronutrients/vitamins/minerals for a day? hell no...

You are really overthinking or reading some whack ass magazine.

i tend to stick with all whole grains because:

1) they keep me full longer
2) I like how they taste better
3) they have better micronutrient concentrations and fiber

more refined grains also have a much higher GI as well, but this doesn't matter so much if it's not the majority of your carbs and not all in the same meal.

Oh alright. For some reason I just thought you were really into ponchos. :p

well there is that too, but I wasn't trying to make it weird

**** yeah. The US are little bitches when it comes to horse meat. I am all for using Horse as a food source. Why Cattle but not horse?

Plus, super lean baby!

Horsemeat isn't bad at all... had it a couple times out of the USA.

Other than the health/safety issues of drugged up racehorses in the food chain (probably no worse than any other livestock anymore), I see no issue ...

lol, i was loling hard about this when some douche tool from the humane society was shooting his mouth off about it. said it shouldn't be legalized because horses aren't raised for food they're raised for pleasure and racing and the quality of the meat might be suspect.

what an idiot. if you legalize it in the US, they WOULD be farmed as a food source and heavily regulated and inspected like very other source of meat in this country.

i swear, some people must be conceived with weak sperm

While they may have higher concentrations that does not apply for all foods.
White Potatoes hold a lot of micronutrients that sweet potatoes dont for instance.

Some refined cereal's hold more micronutrients than rice do.. rice is pretty much null of all micronutrients same with pasta as well.

"The origin: Because most Americans eat the highly processed version of the white potato—for instance, french fries and potato chips—consumption of this root vegetable has been linked to obesity and an increased diabetes risk. Meanwhile, sweet potatoes, which are typically eaten whole, have been celebrated for being rich in nutrients and also having a lower glycemic index than their white brethren.

What science really shows: White potatoes and sweet potatoes have complementary nutritional differences; one isn't necessarily better than the other. For instance, sweet potatoes have more fiber and vitamin A, but white potatoes are higher in essential minerals, such as iron, magnesium, and potassium. As for the glycemic index, sweet potatoes are lower on the scale, but baked white potatoes typically aren't eaten without cheese, sour cream, or butter. These toppings all contain fat, which lowers the glycemic index of a meal.
"

Remember GI is based off the carb source alone, which means nothing because none of us are dumb enough to just eat "Carbs" at a meal. its going to be combined with many other sources (protein/fat) where therefore the overall GI will be greatly reduced and if you do have a "non-whole grain/wheat source) the overall GI will be nearly the same:

"GI gives us clues to the behavior of certain foods, but that's exactly the main point of this article. Clues; mere hints are all we get from our current knowledge of GI. Successful application of GI is most consistent when we use higher GI sources to enhance the speed of postworkout glycogenesis, and that's about it. Carb foods are better judged on the basis of degree processing, refinement, or alteration/removal of micronutrition -- NOT on the basis of GI, or even GL. This is as good a time as any to crush the folly of what I call "food discrimination". A prime example of this is cutting out potatoes on the basis of GI. This happens all the time, & the dieter takes pride in thinking he/she is being prudent. Well, the critical thing to realize here is that all food species in nature have unique nutrient profiles. Therefore, unique nutritional benefit can be derived from each species. The natural matrix of plant &/or animal tissue cannot be duplicated in the lab, & hence there are many unidentified beneficial agents in, say, the humble potato. As a matter of trivia, it surpasses bananas in potassium & vitamin C concentration. Not to mention, it provides default hydration, and of course is a great whole-food source of starch. The list goes on & on.

Satiety, micronutrient density, insulin response, & surrounding factors altering glucose kinetics are all much like a roll of the dice in terms of bottom-line certainty & reliability of GI. Like all things in science - especially the deep bubbly cauldron that is applied nutritional science - it ain't all that simple. All avenues in this area are winding & complex."

I suppose I was a little broad sweeping in my statement :) I was referring specifically to white bread vs whole grain bread, but your point stands. typically un or less processed foods have the best nutritional value, although processed cereal grains are often reinforced with added vitamins and minerals.

To your point on white potato vs sweet, thats why I usually eat sweets because I don't have to put anything at all on them for it to taste good! I rarely use additional oils or anything in my food other than a small amount of olive oil perhaps. it's easier for me to control caloric density that way and my gut prefers high protein, low-mid carb, low fat diet to stay satiated with lots of bulk greens and leafy veggies. i need a lot of volume to stay full

So I had my first meet last weekend.. After weigh-ins the night before I drove myself to a restaurant and got a basket of onion rings, sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes, 12oz of filet mignon tips marinated with a merlot I think, then went back to the hotel and slammed Gatorade and protein bar. After the meet Saturday I had wings, nachos, bigass double hamburger, sweet potato fries, ice cream, and a few local brewed IPA's. Then Sunday I had a large dominos pizza with extra: chicken, sausage, sliced sausage, pepperoni, and hamburger.

^Cheat weekend

Top the asparagus and the steak, actually everything on the plate, with bernaise! Then it's a proper cheat meal.

I had to unsubscribe from this thread. It's like crack and sex. More more more. Pretty soon I'm going to need a 12 step meeting for my food "problem" if I keep this up. lol

Later guys (and girl).

ya I'll ask my sister how she actually does it but yes

also grape jelly mixed with BBQ sauces works great too if you like stickiness

she told me that she just mixes it all together, no magic to it

see what I did there...? ;)

Horse meet is good, better than beef in my opinion. I just wish it was not so damn rare and expensive at USA butcher shops.

Just an idea for asparagus that I tried last night that I really liked

5 oz asparagus
15 ml fat free italian dressing
Minced onion
Black pepper

Put the asparagus in a boat formed from tin foil
Pour the dressing on top
Sprinkle the minced onion and black pepper
I put mine in an infared cooker (like an oven, cooks anything under the sun. Thing still amazes me) but I'm sure you could put it in the oven for 10-12 minutes @ around 350 and it'd be similar.

Yesterday was the first time I tried it and I thought it was really tasty. I even put a 1/4 slice of reduced fat swiss cheese on it to add a little extra to it. I made it with bacon wrapped chicken breast, delicious dinner from last night.
