Bean's 1st contest prep (Lecheek last 8 weeks)

Looking Great Bean!!! Definitely leaner than before. Doing excellently. How much does a decent coach cost by the way? When I did my competition I did it all solo. If not too much money a coach would be awesome.

Lookin straight cut up buddy! Especially for 190..the toy story stickers are a nice addition as well ;)

Ripped. Great work. I hope one day to be where you are.

There's a woody on the mirror.

Haha I knew that would get brought up lol. Thanks fellas

Look sick bean. You are crushing this shizz

Thanks bud

Impressive Bean! Looking ripped bud.

Thanks breezy
My man bean. Good work man. Just got a boost of motivation off of that.

Glad to help bro thanks
You're getting peeled bro, you're going to be ready for this show

I'm not sure what lecheek is but if it's a fat burner you honestly won't need it

Thanks ace!

Thanks Kleen! My prep cost 600.00 for 16 weeks but I've been working with him for a while so I actually got him to start working with me a month early so I really got 20 weeks outta him. 150.00-200.00/month is pretty standard. Having a coach for a prep is a must IMO. Takes all the worry out of it.

Great progress bean! Couldn't see that right arm development, you had a bunch of writing all over it

Thanks DW. Someone attacked me with markers lol!

I was just telling my wife that I wish I had done measurements before cuz my legs/arms/forearms etc have grown significantly in the last 5+ weeks!

I can totally relate bud but once I left into someone else's hands (my coach) he showed that eating double or more the carbs I was eating on my own and just timing them right, my fat loss skyrocketed. This time last year I was roughly the same bodyfat give or take but I was ten pounds lighter :winning: Don't be scared of then learn how to use them to your advantage bud. Carb cycling FTW

carbs are your friend, homeboy :boobies:

^^^this. Plus stating that low will at some point cripple your gains AND fat loss.

Thanks brother. I would love to have a nutrition coach but I know the wife wouldn't go for it lol. I know I just need to be patient. It doesn't help being a super picky eater either haha. If I'm hi jacking here we can continue in my thread lol sorry bean

I highly suggest this my friends, take your monthly supp money and save it or save half whatever, and search for a good coach (most of these guys work with people on just diet) I am by no means kissing ass here at all but I know snags works with people and Matty and his lady at boss body.net are both great. I know Matty has a hell of a deal on nutrition coaching right now. Or if you want pm me and ill give you my coaches website he's awesome and his rates are reasonable. I'd bet you'd get almost twice the results if you spent your 200.00 supp money on 8 weeks with a pro. Honestly guys it helped me cuz in my head, the results were on them not me as long as I did what they said and put the work in . Something to think about. We all react differently to carbs it's just figuring out how to use them correctly. I could name a few more guys on here that are good but I already volunteered two without permission lol
Sorry snags and Matty.

I'm seriously considering it man. We're going on our 5 year anniversary trip to mexico or Jamaica and I'd like to be much leaner for that. That's actually what started out life style change back in may. She's killing it (down 60 lbs) and I've put on some serious size but you know how this story goes haha. It's just kind of frustrating sometimes.

Here's a good example. Another coach I know in my area posted results from one of his clients which over 12 weeks he went from 225 and 20% bf to 225 and 10% bf. I believe the macros he posted were somewhere around 500+P/5-600C/1-150F and he was averaging 4500+ cals/day. His point was carbs can be your friend lol if used properly. The before and after pics were awesome.

I keep a coach year round now. Its priceless in my opinion. Like Bean was saying Carbs are certainly helpful when used properly

Looking nice and lean too bro. Great place to be in at 10-11 weeks out

Carbs are definitely a close friend of mine haha. It's not very often that I stay in the 300g range (usually 400g-600g+).

Lol it usually takes me a week to eat that many!

Haha It seems like a lot of people are in the same boat. I'd have a lot of trouble hitting my calorie target without a bunch of carbs.

Do u cycle your carbs breezy or is that an everyday number?

Lol I used to be the same, still not as high as breezy but at least dbl what I was doing

that's a lot of carbs
it's all relative tho - relative as to how our body absorbs them (some of course do better than others), and mostly relative to what kind of carbs one is consuming (400-600g carbs coming from sugar gonna leave you fat, period)..micronutrients are everything, when it comes to bodycomp and eliminating unwanted adipose tissue, while retaining most muscle possible

a structured contest prep ~10-12 weeks out, if you are in decent shape, leaves one with a very nice guideline/structure to learn one's body..you get to incorporate the carb rotation (as beans mentioned), clean carbs majority of week, with the occasional cheat meal timing thrown in once weekly..this is great protocol to base "regular life" off of, if you are concerned with looking good

there are always exceptions to the rule (again) - the freak metabolism who can eat very loosely and still look awesome..the goofball who thinks he's gonna show up at a show and dominate - despite being 15% bf at 10 weeks out (so above wouldn't apply to this individual, as for incorporating a 10-week-out protocol into a regular daily plan, he would have to pull out all stops if he wants to make even a decent showing)..

generalities (and common sense), again

Breezy must absorb carbs very well cuz dude is straight jacked lol

I cant get over your pic bro,you have came so far,and dont just look in shape, you look healthy!

My macros are pretty consistent. I usually just lower my calorie total on non training days and the carbs follow. Lately I've been trying to have most of the drop in calories coming from carbs, but its only been a couple weeks with this approach.

I'm a freak lol. I actually have some absorption problems, which is why my calorie intake is as high as it is. I take prescription pancreatic enzymes with all my food.

Breezy must absorb carbs very well cuz dude is straight jacked lol

Haha I think its the opposite, but it's working out either way.

Very very solid info as usual snags!!! Thanks for breaking it down. I'm learning a lot about my body during this prep.

Yes he is!

Wow bro thanks so much, this forum and my AM bros have played a huge role!

sure, some can
other factors play a part too - jay cutler can eat 800-1000g+ carbs daily and stay under 10%..
dude's a freak, but a lil other factoring in there as well :D

For sure other factors, but even with that said, dude is a freak!
Yup, dude is an inspiration. For real.

Much love bro thanks

This is the best part, the PROCESS we go through, trial and error is how we learn. It's fun to read and watch others progress and see what strategies work and don't work. You sir are a machine :-)

So me and my wife just talked and she said it was completely fine if I got a nutritional coach to try out for 6 weeks and see how it goes. So stoked.

As Matty has said b4, priceless.

Dan give whoever you choose at least 6 weeks to figure things out take in as much info as you can from him/her. In the off season it's nice because I use my coach when I get stuck or plateau then take what he teaches me and do it myself for a month or two then go back for more help, when money isn't as much of an issue ill use one year round fo sho

Def. I figured I'd start out with 6 weeks and see how it goes. It's gonna be a few weeks before I do anything. The wife said I exceeded my fundage for this month lol

That'll be a cool opportunity Dan - log it for us?!

Yeah ill probably log it if people want me to. I wouldn't feel right giving specifics out on the diet since the someone makes their living off it but ill probably be on cycle anyway ;)
