Piston Honda Blows Up on I-Force's Hemavol + Compete! (sponsored)

Was getting bored with my routine so I switched it up a bit today. Tried to hit every major muscle group I could.

Deadlifts: 225/8, 275/5, 295/3
Rack Pulls: 180/8, 230/6, 260/3, 260/3
Stiff-legged deadlifts (to get a good stretch): 135/6
Meadows Rows: 70lbs (add weight of barbell? +45?) 8,8,7,7,6 then 45/6 after last rep at 70
Lat pulls: 210/6/6/5
Leg press (for pump, mini-occlusion training) 395/15,14,13,11
Seated bench press: 230/10, 260/7,5

Felt the need to go longer than my workouts have been going lately. 30-40 minutes has been the norm, and today I went 50 with as minimal rest as I could take, plus time racking weights. Had a total body pump and felt great throughout.

I usually spend about an hour in the gym, I need my rest betweens sets!

That's a dead ringer!

So after school activities are cancelled and driving to my Buffalo gym is a no-go, so I'm forced to take an off-day today. Good thing I got 45 minutes of cardio in yesterday.

Decided to do a whole lower body routine today mainly because I had access to those machines at the gym.

Hammer ground base squats:
270/6, 320/5, 320/5
Leg press:
360/10, 450/9, 540/7, 540/6, 450/9, 360/10
90 sec rest in between
Hex bar deadlifts:
225/6, 295/3, 295/3 80 sec rests
Goblets squats:
70/10,9,8 60 sec rests
Stiff legged deadlifts:
225/6,6,5 to get a good stretch with some resistance

My iPod playlist started over so no need to fill in the songs like I've been.

Hemavol+leg day = PAIN, but add Compete and you find the energy and stamina to go hard!

nice, i've been hearing good things about compete being good for endurance...

Not just endurance but focus too. So far it seems like a pretty well balanced formula and a great complement to Hemavol.

Hemavol on leg day can change your world - it's a good kind of hurt though. ;)

Yeah, maybe "hurt" is too strong a word. "Fullness" is probably more appropriate! Jeans are fitting a bit more snugly, but in the thighs!

Spent a lot of time on shoulders and lats/back today. Had a sick pump and really helped enhance the "V" shape of my upper body.

Pullups / Bosu pushups:
15/15, 13/15, 12/15
Hex rows:
205/10,9,8,8,7
Ripcord rows:
65/10,9,8,8,7
Meadows rows:
70/7,7,6
Roc-it mid rows:
260/8,7,6

I don't think you need me to tell you that Hemavol + arm workouts = sick pumps.

enhancing the 'v' look is something i have been working on for a long time...it's a lot harder for us big guys than the naturally slim guys, at least for me, lol.

Yeah, I've got some work around the waist to do, but once i start my cut I should have a pretty good foundation underneath that come out. Some chest separation would be good but I know it's only like 5 lbs away.

Goal is 185/188 and/or 11-12% by June 15th. No particular reason other than that's my wedding day and is the only thing I'm really looking forward to. It's as good a day to shoot for as any!

Would be nice to recomp at current weight and get to 11%, but 185 is my "fighting weight," best I've looked/felt. Thanks to all for the support!

I love food too much to "diet".

Gotta admit today was not my best workout. Just felt lethargic all day; didn't sleep particularly well last night and I think that carried over today.

Rack pulls: 250/5,5,4, 200/8
Barbell shoulder raises: 70/8,8,7
Single arm barbell rows: 70/7,7,6
Farmers walks: 70/2 trips across gym x 2

Not much of a workout, but I figured something today was better than nothing. Mentally wiped from paper load at work and a bad night's sleep. Hopefully tomorrow's better.

You got this Honda! Get your ass some sleep!

Best of luck with your shoulder my dynamic brother!

Last couple days I've been unusually fatigued. Came home yesterday and slept for a few hours and still haven't been getting good sleep at night. Figured its better to take a bit of a break and then I can finish strong this weekend. I have off from work next week so I should be able to recharge my batteries and get back on the horse!

Jumping back on that horse today. Revved up and ready to hit it hard!

Spent today focusing on some shoulder work. Took the last few days off due to lethargy and some poor sleep, maybe even some stress from paper load at work. All that's taken care of and I have a week off coming up, so back at it!

Meadows rows:
70/10,9,8,8,7
Hex bar shrugs:
205/10
245/10,9,9,8,7
Farmer's walks:
70/ 2 trips across gym
Ripcord rows:
65/10,9,8,7

Still feeling pumped and energized! 3 or four more workouts left in the log I believe. Dosing is at 2 scoops Hemavol preworkout. Good way to blow up!

Today I hit a number I never thought I would: 610. Highest amount I've ever moved in a session and it felt damn good!

Plate loaded squat press:
360/10 80 sec rest
450/10 100 sec rest
540/10 120 sec rest
610/6 120 sec rest
540/8 120 sec rest
450/10

Ground base squat
270/6
320/5
360/4 (PR)
320/4

Goblet squats
70/10,9,8

Monday will probably be my last day for the log because I think tomorrow will be a rest day, and I have the Sabres/Penguins game in the afternoon. It's been a heck of a run with great products, and I'll sum up my experiences with a final review very soon!
