The wife bought me a new ipod for Christmas, and I'm trying to load it up with some good music for the gym. Any genre's are welcome. Just good stuff to get the adrenaline going.

Depends on your sonic preferences, and how heavy a sound needed for stimulation..

Examples:

Melodic/Goth Metal: Apocalyptica, Epica, The Birthday Massacre, Nightwish

Dirty Vocals-type metal: The Devil Wears Prada, Bless The Fall, Bullet for my Valentine, Shadows Fall, Lamb of God

Heavy Metal: Killswitch Engage, Times of Grace, Kittie, Staind, Disturbed, Caliban, Flyleaf

Hip-Hop (no Lil' Wayne, sorry!): Maybach, Kanye West, Mos Def/Yassin, Jay-Z, Joe Budden, old DMX

Beats/Dubstep: Ratatat, Digitalism, The Glitch Mob, Ooah and LoBounce, Nasty Ways

Some good '80s music works: Human League, Duran Duran, Heart, Bon Jovi, Europe, old-school Van Halen.. :147:

I like rock, either fast paced or with a steady beat to get in to a groove.

I've been on a "red dirt" kick lately and have been playing a lot of:

Texas Hippie Coalition (Saddle Sore is a good song to youtube for a feel)

Sign Of the Southern Cross

Hogjaw

Down (Phil Anselmo from Pantera)

Great to hear a band like that from NC!! I live in VA, but just by about 3 miles. Was born and raised a NC boy

I do like these guys but I want to be clear that from the vocals to the drums, rythm and even riffs, these guys are a Pantera copycat. And Pantera was a Texas group :booty:

I was born & raised in Eden just north of Greensboro in Rockingham County. I live in Ridgeway, VA now, just over the state line outside Martinsville and bout 20 mins from Danville.

LOG, whitechapel, the acacia strain, winds of plague, rose funeral, Chelsea grin, slayer, bad religion, and the almighty Pantera... RIP Dime.

Oh yeah, I know Eden! I grew up just outside of Charlotte, in Shelby. Lived all over the states but been in Charlotte for the past 14 years. Love it here.

i almost went to appy state for school!

If you close your eyes and listen to this band, you would think it IS Pantera!

I'd say Down from the NOLA album. A little slower than most Pantera, but definitely major undertones there. Thanks for the intro. Spent 6 years in NC and never heard of these cats. They're good.
