Douchebags at the gym...

I'm 155lbs and love it!!! :D

Agile as hell, fast, and still crank some heavy weight (with the exception of my always-measly bench). I don't think I'd want to pass 175 again.

The 20 year old who weighs 180lbs and just started his first cycle. Benches 275 with his 150lb friend spotting him. Waits for you to look over so he can start his set because he wants to impress the big guys

What's wrong with that?

You can always bulk and cut. I bounce around by about 20-30 pounds through the year. Lol!

What's wrong with weighing 180 lbs? Do you think everyone wants to weigh 230? :)

Hell ya. And no I'm not just saying this cause I'm almost 180.

I'm putting up weight now that I put up last year at 200. Definitely pound for pound stronger and way leaner. It's also harder to make gains when your "the little guy" so I never hate on them.

As for the sandals thing. I fractured a toe when I was 15 benching with my cousin in his basement. Someone had a 45 and a 5 on and I grabbed the big plate and pulled the whole stack off, not seeing the 5. It dropped to the floor and nailed my toe. Not a fun time. Ah the childhood memories.

I was watching a guy today checking everyone out, he walked in the same time as me and hoped on the smith machine to do shoulder press and sat there the hole time talking to a trainer....mean while I did my complete work out, chest & tris in about a hour and he hadn't done one set... He was sitting there talking the hole time.... Not one set....must be some type of mental exercise where you go to the gym and picture the body you want to archive for an hour hen go home......or maybe he was just there to exercise his jaw,

155 seems light though...
Any guys try and test you based on your size?

Right I feel the same way. Looking better with your shirt off is look I'm going for.

Not in the gym; I'm always getting compliments on my lifts. - Outside of the gym, yes. I never really talk about lifting to anyone, but occasionally it will come up in conversation and I'll add my $0.02. I've gotten comments like, "You lift?" When I was a bodybuilder that would have pissed me off, but now I just smirk knowing I could work them over on Squats or DL's, and say "Sometimes."

Once in a while I get the urge to add size, but that desire usually dissipates in about 5 minutes.

Most people in the gym that have commented think I'm 180-190. My muscle shape can be a little deceiving, as I have a wide back, dense shoulders and teardrop quads. The things that typically make you look big are where my definition is, with the exception of my biceps. They've never been too big.

Since I'm normally dressed fairly professional, people that see me in a t-shirt and shorts have said things like, "Where have you been hiding that?!"

Even when you were bigger, I personally thought you looked "heavier" than you were.

Word.
Look big in a t shirt than layered with clothes.
Lean muscle is where it's at.

I think I have found the douche bag gym capital of America! If you're ever in Denver, come to the 24 hour fitness on Alameda and Colorado Blvd, between 4-7 p.m. Gym has at least 300(anyone that goes there knows this no exaggeration) in there, most are D-BAGS!

People doing their superset circuit training on five different pieces of equipment. Tried to do barbell rows, but a guy came over said he was using it, but using some other equipment across the gym. Tried to use Smith-machine that was next to rowing rack, he said he was using it too!

I have come across on 3 different occasions guys in leg press, playing games on phones. 1 guy reading a newspaper on a ab machine. Thought I was at planet fitness.

There's a "trainer" that likes to make sure the entire gym know he's working out. One day he was doing "muscle ups" on chin up bar, nearly kicked me in the head, because he was using too much momentum.

Locker room always smells like ass! And yes there's that old guy that is blow drying his balls for 45 minutes too!

Fortunately, I have found another 24 hour fitness that has a tolerable amount of douche bags.

Stfu!!!! Aaaaahahaha!!! I grew up in Colorado! We used to call that gym "The Jungle". Bro, Denver used to be a bad ass place but right before I left it seemed like the douche baggery had run amuck!

There are a few that aren't too bad... Lakewood off of Alameda is decent just a lot of high school cats that never left. Littleton/Lakewood on Bowles is actually decent. The one on broadway and c4 is crazy packed with cougars if you're ever down that way. There used to be a golds off of Colfax that was legit but it shut down. Better bodies isn't too shabby and has a more hardcore feel to it - dumbbells go up higher. The matrix downtown  fuhget about it! That's where you want to be ;)

The absolute best place to train in the metro Denver area is Armbrust. If you like lifting with zero distractions and getting **** done that is the place to be.

Or get out while you can lol! I left and never looked back F Colorado (except the broncos).

F the broncos.

Found the douche bags ^ lol

Irish I had a buddy like you in HS he was around 160 165 I was 185 190 and he would bench and squat right with me and was close on deads. I was really impressed he hit 305 on bench and good numbers on the rest as well. He's a marine now and we always get together and lift when he's home on leave. Haha. Lean muscle is definitely where it's at.

How about sunglasses in the gym?! Unless you look ronnie coleman you better not be rocking sun glasses in the gym douche!

I wore sunglasses in the gym 1 time... went to the eye doctor earlier in the day and had my eyes dilated haha.

Lol. I did a few times in college. Our squat rack was dead nuts in the sun (under ground so when looking up, it was right there). It was mandatory team lifting times so it was the luck of the draw who was gonna be goose & maverick

Lol I was referring to a complete a newb with no training experience. I'm sure we've all seen that guy.

And yes 180 with low bf is still respectable : )

The guy who maxes out shoulder shrugs... then posts about it on facebook. I didn't know you could max shrugs. In fact I never see people doing shrugs with legit form because you can cheat so much, I don't see how you could find an actual max.

There are guys who do these ugly ass looking shrugs on cable machine..

I cant stand idiots who give out even more idiotic advice to people in the locker room. Or personal trainers who have zero muscle tone or slightly overweight trying to convince me to sign up for their classes

I still don't understand how you would do a max shrug. Like why would you even care about 1 rep? It's not like it's a compound movement unless your doing cheater shrugs. It's pretty much a straight trap movement. Guy looks like a hobbit on steroids and said he did 600 something, which made it all the better because I really truely doubt that.

It keeps getting better. Upon further investigation he has a bench vid of him doing 405. where he says "I know I didn't take it down the whole way". Anyways takes it down about 8 inches of his check, his butt is off the bench, and he unracks it, brings it down, slings it back up. If that's the form he uses on his shrugs then I understand now.

Nothing against the guy, but come on...

I have done cable shrugs before, but usually at the end of a workout for a high rep burnout, and because I have spine issues so it takes the pressure off my back a bit.

Bad form has to be my biggest annoyance.

gota love em. We actually have a few trainers who know what's up around here, thank goodness. I am friends with them not a client though.

I would love to get a chance to head over to Armbrust to train along with Phil Heath!

Wife and I just moved to Denver. Don't really care for the town too much, but it's the most affordable option if we want to live in Colorado. Trust me it's a lot better then the last state I lived for the majority of my life (Indiana).

Jay cutler came by my house to use my stationary bike the other day

How bout the ****bag that is commando at the gym and then makes a flash like dash over to "help out" on your last three reps of bench and your forced to look at his junk...its a crime! FahQ budday!

the 3 young kids using: 1- the squat rack to do 10kg barbell shoulder press, 2- the bench press, 3- the standing squat machine and 4- the barbell racks all at the same time!

Hey Hey Hey!!! Were also useing these to cable machines to do flys, and were useing this bench for our drinks.

how about the group of teenage guys who come to the gym and dont shut the Fu&& up about how many people they knocked out. Oh and plus the guys who leave 10 dumbell on the floor and walk away.

A kid 16/17yrs old or so took 4 pairs of dumbbells & lay them kind of side by side on the floor... I have no idea what he was planning to do mainly because they ranged from 6-10kgs, the spot he chose to place them meant no way he could do a push up/man maker because it was about 1.5m x 1.5m & the way he placed them made no sense... Pissed me off because I needed the 7kgs for female client...

How about the guy who is super big, super strong, has perfect form, moves through his workout fast, always lets you work in with him, spots you whenever needed, picks up any extra weights making a mess, and lets you have sex with his girlfriend in the locker room. Makes you feel like a ****ty person without even trying. Such a douche.

How about the guy who has a perfect sixpack in january, while were all bulking up lookin like chubbsters.

Im so mad just thinkin about it! I'm gonna buy a pizza to make myself feel better, but first im gonna finish this bowl of icecream.

I find people doing barbell curls in the squat rack -_- If your going to use the only rack in the gym do something useful and put that weight on your back or get the F out of the rack people are actually trying to lift.

wait, I thought it was called a curl rack?
