Hair Loss Prevention

Good post. Only thing I would verify is the finasteride 2.5mg every 3 days. Finasteride has a half life of 6hrs and that's why it's dosed daily. I've been taking it daily for 4 months... On my third cycle and getting great results on the mass and hair front, I highly recommend it. Just thanking god I'm not one of the less than 1% of men that get the floppy willy. Lol

Perfect image solutions got the dr lee treatment and was shut down by the FDA. A lot is still available on amazon so stock up.

Also, I bought the spray applicator for toppik, works awesome.

Thirdly, there is a toppik like product called caboki that is giving away a substantial free sample, just pay for shipping. They claim it's better, seems about the same but free is free. Invalid Link Removed

Dude that sucks! I just ordered some 15% minoxidil last month. I would have ordered more if I knew they were going to get shut down.

My doctor mentioned the same deal, but said even every other day. He claims its what he does. He also threw out a comment about needing more reports on whether it actually helps the prostate...
Also never had a problem with my dingus.

Some good thoughts here - I was skeptical about finasteride every 3 days (due to the half life issue) but I saw a study saying it was ~90% as effective. Now of course... I can't find the study.

and you are correct, the side effects are in 1-2% of people.
Here's my thoughts on finasteride and potential side effects-

Understandably so, I get a lot emails about guys that are worried about the potential side effects of Propecia, while there is legitimate potential I don't think Propecia is any more 'dangerous' than any other Rx drug.

Further, I just want to suggest that nothing with this drug is permanent and not to let a less than 1% chance of lasting side effects make you paranoid.

DHT eats on (progressively miniaturizes) hair that are genetically prone to hair loss (areas most prone are the crown and hair line)

propecia lowers DHT levels, if you lower them too much, your libido will lessen (or not exist)

for 99% of guys when you stop taking it, your DHT levels go back up (thats why its a lifetime commitment)

for the guys that have 'permanent' side effects, their DHT levels are too low to get/sustain erections

simply giving them HRT (hormone replacement therapy) corrects this problem, synthetic testosterone gets their DHT back up

while being on HRT is not ideal for some guys (1 shot of testosterone every 10-14days), it's not the end of the world and it will negate any problems or hormonal imbalances that propecia has caused

my point is - the side effects from propecia won't be permanent. they are treatable with HRT if worst comes to worst

if you're already dealing with side effects, it would be wise to discontinue propecia

the guys that had their DHT permanently hindered likely experienced several short term side effects but continued taking the propecia

if you aren't experiencing side effects, you won't wake up one day and your dick with cease to work

propecia is basically like Arimidex - but works on DHT. If you stop taking Adex you estrogen will return to its natural levels. Same deal with Propecia.

i just want to assure you guys that the 1% chance is unlikely and if it does happen, it's reversible.

I know right? Stupid FDA... ugh

I got a little write up about the situation and what I'm doing instead (it's really working well)-

*scroll down to 'An Important Note to You*

Basically I'm buying azelaic acid 10% cream and combining it with my saturate my head in minoxidil routine:

this routine (without the PI 15% minoxidil) is STILL regrowing hair. nothing's changed!

I was wondering why those prices suddenly jacked up......

WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF..... I just signed onto Amazon to buy 15% Minoxidil + AA, there's NO WHERE TO FIND IT!? So... freaking... gay.

Looks like I'm going to order again from Wholesale Hair Products. Still getting Regenepure DR from Amazon though.

Thanks a lot for the links man, but $90, no likey, haha. I appreciate it though. I ordered a good amount of Spiro cream from WHP before, and I'm pretty positive it was real, gave me severely itchy scalp. I'm going to order their 5/5% Minox/AA in a minute :)

I have 1 extra 5% minox azeleic acid from perfect image, I I knew the price would go up like that I'd have bought more as an investment. Screw stocks.

That puts it in perspective... $30 a month, not too shabby actually, especially for triple the Minoxidil dosage. Hmmmmmmmmm. How many are available, enough to buy a year's worth? The only thing I'm worried about, is buying some, LOVING IT, and then having it vanish FOREVER from the market.

Why don't you just order it from Canada its totally legal n you can get it in 1mg tabs at great price?

Oh just checked the link... wonder what MPC World is, looks not too legit, haha. It's only 10% by the looks of the ad, not 15%. Man, I seriously can't believe the timing, I waited until all my Sam's Club supply was out, and hopped online only days after it was banned online to buy 15% :(

I've gotten it from Canada and from India. Canada is cheaper than the states but you still need a prescription from a doctor. India is even cheaper for 1mg tabs.

Yea I'm thinking bout starting it up again. Any one kno where you can get the test to see if u will likely have a lowered sex drive?

Yeah guys unfortunately the FDA has mandated the discontinuation of 15% minoxidil products. I have my current routine (it's working great!) posted here: http://anabolicminds.com/forum/steroids/190433-saturated-my-head.html
specific products I'm using are here: Invalid Link Removed

It's been ~3 weeks and it's working just as good as the minoxidil 15%! I'm basically buying the minoxidil and the azelaic acid separately. I'll report back, but this is very promising thus far.

What if you added some Retinol cream to help absorption and further mimic that of Perfect Imagine's profile?

This sucks so bad, no idea what I am going to do now

I know you can buy raw azelaic acid and raw minoxidil, but I am no chemist so have no idea how to put these together

Is any of this stuff available already made outside the US, if so I am going that route

And we want topical, some guy was posting about pills

How to add azeleic acid to minoxidil.

Also don't forget you could buy minox with AA from wholesalehairproducts.com

Never used either but the options do exist.

Sweet links dude, these guys will likely be shut down soon too, so i'll have to jump on this

Sciencelab.com has 5 g for $92, my math skills aren't good enough to tell if that's a good deal.

Thanks, repped! :)

So, if the usual 30 or 60ml use a 5% concentration, how would I go about working out total active for that? Seems to me like 5g would last a long time... anyone have some solid insight into this? Is the 5% based on milligrams or the volume of the liquid?

Article on Vitamin C and hair loss

The summary of it is basically that an analouge of Vitamin C can prevent damage to hair folicles from DHT. It caught my eye for 2 reasons. First, it seems to have an idea of what DHT specifically does to hair folicles, specifically that DHT increases production of "the baldness protein DKK-1" and that that vitamin C phoshpate decreases this protein.

Number 2, and more important to us, the kind of vitamin c mention in the article is the kind that is in N2Shampoo. Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate that is.
Invalid Link Removed
Vitamin C-Phosphate offers your hair protection from androgens

It's all very well, all those male hormones, but they are also responsible for hair loss. And androgens that your body produces itself are just as much to blame as the synthetic androgens that chemical athletes use.

Korean researchers say that a Invalid Link Removed analogue may help prevent androgenic hair loss.

The researchers, who work at the Kyungpook National University, did experiments with papilla cells from the skin of balding people. Papilla cells provide the nutrients that other cells in the hair follicles use to make hairs. Papilla cells play a key role in male baldness. They possess receptors for androgens and hair production stops if too many or too strong androgens attach themselves to the receptors.

The Koreans believe they know how this happens. They think that androgens activate the dickkopf-1 gene. Invalid Link Removed This is the gene that's responsible for making the protein DKK-1. As a result, the papilla cells die and the hair-producing outer root sheath cells stop working. And then the hair falls out.

So could you stop this process by exposing papilla cells to vitamin C-phosphate, or, to use its chemical name, ascorbic acid 2-phosphate? [Structural formula shown above] This is what the Koreans wanted to find out.

The idea didn't just fall out of the sky. The Koreans had already demonstrated in test tubes that ascorbic acid 2-phosphate boosts hair growth. Invalid Link Removed Papilla cells [DP] develop more quickly when given more ascorbic acid 2-phosphate. What's more, the vitamin also causes the production of the growth factor IGF-1 to increase in the cells.

Invalid Link Removed

So who knows, maybe ascorbic acid 2-phosphate also inhibits the production of the baldness protein DKK-1, thought the Koreans. And lo and behold. The figure above shows that DHT – the androgenic testosterone metabolite – boosts the production of the protein DKK-1, but that ascorbic acid 2-phosphate prevents this from happening.

The researchers used ascorbic acid 2-phosphate because it's such a stable compound, they write. But in the cells, ascorbic acid 2-phosphate converts into ascorbate or vitamin C. By the way, ascorbic acid 2-phosphate is a common ingredient in cosmetic products.

Of course the research doesn't prove that men can protect their scalp with vitamin C analogues. It's not even clear whether steroids users can prevent their hairline from receding by using ascorbic acid 2-phosphate or ordinary vitamin C.

seeing as the main article written up was 2004, anyone have any input for someone who sees some minor hair loss on cycle, thinning both on and off cycle, and has a family history on both sides of hair loss. I have been taking toco-8 and notice a difference off cycle but it doesn't sem to do much for on cycle. I also will be starting 3% scalic acid shampoo followed by Regenepure DR. So hopefully that will help. Anything else I should consider?

You've got the Ketoconazole (Regenepure) and 3% azalic acid already. Minoxidil would be another to add. There's always finesteride while on cycle.

Bump.

Where do I buy, and how do I measure raw Minoxidil to = a 15% concentration?

Ok it took me forever but I think I found the answer here:

According to minoxidil max's website the amounit is,
Minoxidil 15% (9 grams of minoxidil in each bottle; i.e., 150 mg/mL).
Also some additional resources:

10 G of minoxidil 18.99

minoxdil 5% with Azelaic Acid - kinda low rent looking- home made looking label - $25.95

Nice info. The product at WHP is a tad cheaper, so I think at this point it's just a toss up. The Corvinex reviews has two 5 stars and one 2 star review so take it like you will.

Outstanding, do you have any feedback on the WHP minox/AA mixture yet?

Also, for you guys on the finasteride protocol are you taking it in conjunction with any type of AI's like exemestane or the like? Or is that just counter productive? I know mepartricin is getting good feedback for fina protocols as it's a strong suicide inhibitor but has little impact on testosterone levels and the like, unfortunately it's not available in the US.

ive read the majority of this thread, i want to try the shampoos but i regularly shave my head due to my balding up top, would this render progress if i chose to to try this out, ive googled and different shampoo products come up, which is recommended?

Does this site actually sell the product or do you have to email them for prices? I couldn't find a (add to cart) option.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that was the old Dr. Lee formula. If that was the case, it got pulled when he got raided.

not too bad i guess, although i cant make a real judgement call yet. i have no real reason to doubt its legit/potent, but it sprays, dries, and even slightly smells like hairspray... i have been meaning to email them and ask. what i am going to do however is this... i am going to buy and keep using the sams club version since i know that is real and i am paranoid about the rogaine hair loss after disuse, and also i am going to keep working on finding a raw powder source of minoxidil to make my own product at high concentration in the meantime.

i hate posting on my phone, i cannot punctuate or capitalize, and it drives me mad.

Sh*t. Hair regrowth fail. :( Raided for Minoxidil? Pardon my naivete on the back story...

I was mistaken. Dr. Lee got shut down some years ago for selling a similar product called Xandrox 15.
I'm going to request CoA's from him on both compounds and also ask him why on Earth 10g is his maximum amount offered. Hopefully he's domestic. Ugh, why does everything have to be such a freaking struggle?

not saying they aren't legit, maybe the carrier isn't as good... but it's been YEARS since I used WSHP

Could be. One of the things that had me interested in the DNC product you listed on your webpage is the fact that they use retinol for better absorption. That's a big bonus in my book.
