I ****ing hate being sick. I don't care If it's a sore throat.. When I'm sick I'm miserable. Really I'm a cry baby even when I have the slightest cold! But yet I still go to the gym, lol I think I'm wired all wrong In the head

I was feeling a lot better yesterday.... By last night I started getting a runny nose... Woke this morning with my throat feeling worse then yesterday again but figured it was from coughing up a whole bunch of crap and maybe the cold air from the open window the wife insists on having...

Well it faded, I was doing better, still had the runny nose and decided I should do a pushup marathon...

Drank some hemavol, and across about 1 hour did over 200 push ups, I think it was 210 actually.... Great pump....

Within 20 min of consecutive resting time post "workout" my head begins to go all cloudy and I get super congested and start feeling like crap again.... What the hell.....


The wife had this cold last week.... But not the sore throat, only thing I can figure is her bug was still floating around, I caught the other virus then with a weakened immune system busy fighting off one thing I caught hers too and sent it coursing through the body big time over loading on pushups....

This is whack, my nose hurts now from all the tissue... And I let her use the last of my psudoephedrine last week when she was dealing with it.... Meh....

The Illness though, the last time I was sick it was a regular cold my mom had that turned into fever, sore throat and runny nose. So yea. Be careful! Get in some vit c! Maybe have a grapefruit or some blue berries :).
 
Thanks bros... def going to do just that... give my body plenty of nutrients and vitamins... hopefully ill have this thing kicked in the next couple days, I cant STAND being out of the gym this long.

The same thing happens to me all of the time, man. When I have a cold and continue to workout, it seems like the only time I actually feel good is WHEN I'm working out. Otherwise I just feel all stuffed and congested. The only thing that makes the workout less enjoyable is that I'm sniffing up boogs the whole time and constantly coughing into my gloves... It's gross. But oh well, right? Good things on the pushups, man. I love those things!

Just about everyone I know is getting sick as well.... even up here in Japan... it just is the winter bug... be on your guard bros!
 
I think we all must have won some of the same supps, and the packagers at the warehouse were sick and coughed all over them. That's the only logical explanation here lol

Update

So first day back in the gym since the week before last... about a good 10-12 days off battling the myriad of colds that kept coming my way... and the first day back in the gym i get to have a WONDERFUL experience (completely sarcastic in case you cant determine that from the following)


I decided I was going to come back at it with deads today... I also am participating in the 100 day pullup/pushup challenge (only day 4 so easy to buy in now for those that still want to participate- Invalid Link Removed ) So I went through and caught myself up with my 10 pull ups and 10 pushups right there, which served as a nice warmup.... Go and start hitting deads... Overall exertion/strength wasnt 100% yet, but decent and endurance as I warmed up was coming right along and I was MORE then pleased with my performance all things considered....

BUT.... Just as I finish up my last set and walk in the bar still loaded with plates into the rack this trainer comes up to me... "hey I need to ask you not to drop the weights" NOT ONCE had I dropped them and they had made no louder a noise then the standard clack of them touching the floor the entire time and I say i didnt drop them. trainer, "I know other gyms allow that lift and all but, well, these arent like the crossfit center and they arent rubber weights so dropping them can break them when they hit the floor" I respond with a bit more adamant but still respectful tone... "well I didnt drop them once, I was doing deadlifts with standard form and they werent even making much noise" he replies "well thats dropping them".

At this point I just say "whatever", turn around and start to unrack the weights.... He takes two steps away then just HAS TO turn back around and say "well Im the owner of this place and Im just trying to keep it nice" AGAIN I say respectfully "I understand" and just continue to unrack the weights and put them up (which half the bums there dont even do, leaving DB's laying around everywhere and the rack and smiths loaded with weight and other retarded crap) n as he walks away I can see him shaking his head n muttering to himself...

No matter how nice I was in this situation I WAS ABSOLUTELY LIVID... Im seriously pissed.

First. I installed the alarm at this very same gym when they opened up 5 years ago. I KNOW THE OWNER, or at least DID. I am on very solid terms with the day manager and SON of the owner. I hooked him up with a discounted service which I work for and he provided me with a discounted membership.... SO I highly doubt this Jack was the owner, and if he is the owner, its a recent development that occurred while I was attending another gym in the last couple years and since came back cause of the deal I got...

On top this... I feel as though his REAL problem was I was doing this exercise right next to where he was holding some crap kettlebell classes with a bunch of chicks and prob didnt like hearing the repetitive clack of the bar getting SET DOWN...

With all this being said....

Im seriously contemplating breaking contract with this gym on account of I cant workout there the way I want and need to without being hassled for something Im not even doing... Ill drive the extra 3 miles/3minutes on the freeway into town and go to my POWERHOUSE gym where I can deadlift all I want AND pay less for the exact same equipment without the douche's classes going on right next to me and having to hear Zumba music blasting through the place... I cant believe that I was confronted about this considering the manner in which i was lifting... Im not sitting there grunting/yelling and smashing weights around or tossing them after locking out....

With that venting complete Heres how the workout proceeded

BAck/Bi (weight 196lbs)
10 pull up/10push up
Deadlift - 135x10, 185x5, 225x10, 275x3, 225x5, 225x10, 225x5, 225x5
DB curls(varying grips throughout)- 20x10, 30x10, 40x10, 25x10
Bent over row- 50x10, 50x10, 50x10

and with that I was both pissed and spent and just wanted to get out of there....


I think Ill be calling both gyms tomorrow and making the trade. Im seriously done with a gym thats going to give me problems over deadlifting.
 
PS I just noticed I even have a nasty ass bruise (sorry for the language) on my right knee as well from even doing the deads nice and slow and with strict form going up and down..... frickin frackin meh... still pissed...

I'm the same way!! I've fractured my ankle several times, 3 surgeries.. always said id rather break my damn leg then battle a cold!

Nice first day back, man.

I'm with you about the rant. I was in Georgia working out at the Gold's there and the manager got into it with one of those guys who plate-up a piece of equipment and then just rolls out. Leg Press. Dude had 9 plates on each side and was going to town. He was about the bounce and the manager told him to unrack the weights. The leg press dude flipped out. Went absolutely bonkers. Caused one HELL of a scene. He rolled out and did not re-rack the weights.

So what'd the manager do? He put chains on every weight bearing piece of leg workout equipment in the entire gym and put signs up about people not racking weights. He left the chains on for one entire week.

Here's the thing; How is he going to punish everyone for that one douchebag not re-racking his weights? Does he expect everyone else to rack other people's weights? I was baffled. Why risk a lot of people switching gyms and canceling their membership instead of just canceling one S#!theads membership? And he doesn't re-rack? So what. I know it sucks but he had a staff of clerks up front who never did a thing except get chatty with each other and ignore people.

S#!t management makes me more angry than gym douches do.

Haha! Hope everything works out for you, man.

Actually.... The Powerhouse gym is like 4 bucks cheaper as well.... 19 bucks compared to monster fitness which is 23 bucks.... Ha "monster fitness" and you can't even do deads, such a joke...


Anyhow, doing deads last night had the desired effect, today I'm feeling it everywhere. My lower back, my traps, in between my legs, hams and glutes are all sore... Biceps feel a lil sore but not a huge soreness like everything else that got demolished from deads... Feels great, I missed feeling sore from a workout.

Dosed hemavol today as well to hopefully aid in recovery and building it up for more if an effect tomorrow when I go hit chest.

Got like a week left maybe? Prob can stretch it the full week if I only use single scoop servings for my workout doses...wish I had another tub... I really dig the lemon drop flavor too which makes me want to see how their watermelon tastes even more...

Man those gyms are pretty good as far as pricing. I wont even tell you how much it costs for us here...

Hemavol sounds like something i must use. I have a tub... After my cycle though. Unless you feel I would benefit from using it on?

Hemavol is something I WOULD be inclined to save for PCT, namely cause between my diet and a good anabolic, the pumps are there enough... no need to get them to the point of impeding range of motion on exercises.

I do like the idea of having agmatine in the mix all the time with its myriad of benefits BUT I would have to say Hemavol is SO MUCH MORE then an agmatine supp so I would use a stand alone ag. product on and Hemavol off.... should be a GREAT addition to PCT for keeping motivation up and making sure you dont go flat in the less then optimum hormonal environment.


Im def recommending Hemavol as a preferred preworkout supplement... especially for those that dont like stims or taking time off from them... or pump junkies, this stuff delivers in spades.



Funniest thing happened the other day re: the pre and post pump pics i posted earlier in the thread...

The wife saw the photos on the computer and was all like "is that you???? when was that pic???". i respond, "just the other week, was doing some before and after shots for the log". She says "holy crap, you look all pumped up or something.... like someone inflated you full of steroids" I LOL, "thats the idea sweetheart, its a "pump" product".


Now shes well aware of the fact that I cycle so this was still a funny thing for her to say, but I think it just goes to show how impressed she was with the effects.

Damn, retro fitness's by me are 19.99, LA Fitness is 24.99, golds in a flat 20, or 25 depending on initiation! I remember though back in the day when 34.99 was cheap!

The joys of using a mobile app to screw up your logging.... I hate lost posts especially ones in detail...

So yesterday (wed) was chest, hit it later in the evening, the way I prefer since no one is in there and no complaining trainers are there, and I dosed the single serving to get as much outta what I have left as possible.

Solid workout and pump was still good but not as big as with 2 scoops. I think the double dose with plenty of water is where its at. Felt strong, here's the numbers..

Chest
20 warm up pushups
Db press- 40x10, 60x10, 75x10, 90x10
Dips- BWx10, BWx10, BWx10
Db fly- 35x10, 40x10, 45x8
Decline db press-(wiiiide) 40x10, 40x10
Machine fly- 160x10, 220x10, 250x10


A for today (thursday) I get ready, take my dose of hemavol and head out to the gym only to find a notice they just slapped up on the window saying they closed at 4 so all employees could attend the holiday party....

Thanks for the heads up guys, second time they've done this to me since I signed up, the other time was halloween, no advance notice that they were going to be closing early that night either...

Def going in there tomorrow to get in my legs workout then going to the front desk and canceling, I'll sign up at the other gym next week since all they have you pay is the prorated amount for this month then next month and you go month to month, no commitment. Looking forward to going back to a more serious gym, this place turned into a joke the second they restrict a damn olympic lift and one of the main 3 power lifts.
 
nice update. sorry to hear about the gym... Damn man that sux... I hit my gym today. I texted one of the workers to make sure though. Today is the emperor's birthday so its a holiday (well was for me lol).

Go to that other gym though... that one is MUCH better it seems.

Upadate and Final Review

Sorry for the lack of updates through the holiday weekend, was very busy with the fam and then managed to get sick yesterday again with the flu... puking my guts out all yesterday evening and through the night has been a joy...


Finally feeling well enough to crawl out of bed now, and considering my last dose was taken on sunday, its time to wrap up this log.


I didn't get in a workout since last Wednesday but have been at it with the pushup and pull up challenge since I can hit that at home and not impede on family time for the festivities.


Let me break it down into some categories:


Pump: 10/10

Of course this is what Hemavol is all about and what it does best... I loved the fact that it could just BLOW me up from a workout, def feeds the ego and gives a mental drive to the workout for "chasing the pump". I don't think there is much else that can quite compare... MAYBE the closest thing I could say would be from when I beta tested P-slin for USPL and stacked it with creatine monohydrate, but that required a ton of carbs and precise timing... Hemavol simply requires you to mix the delicious powder with an adequate amount of water and drink it down.... @ scoops even seemed to be TOO MUCH when used on back day and deads were performed... In situations like this, where a huge pump can impede a workout I simply think a single scoop will suffice to get the performance benefits of Hemavol.



How it Compares to Other preworkouts:
8/10

Quite honestly, this is where its at for me... I seldom like a preworkout thats stimmy beyond comprehension, that will either overheat me into being too nauseous to workout or stimulate my bowels into emptying half way through my workout.... The ever so slightest amount of a stimulant added to this concoction COULD make it optimal, I feel this could be accomplished with 1/3rd of a sample pack of Maximize V2 ( i think this approximates 1/3rd a single scoop, cant remember). But its nice to have something so dang effective for the times when its necessary to avoid stimulants... something thats so effective Id MUCH rather take it then the others on the market that make me feel like crap one way or another.


Strength: 7/10

This was decent... I dont feel as though it was the cause for an increase in strength, although strength was easily maintained while discontinuing other supplements, including a stim based preworkout, Jack3d. Being able to do such a thing was def impressive considering the usually decrease in strength that can accompany discontinuing supplements that are similar in nature. So while strength didnt suffer at all on Hemavol, I dont think it would be the sole reason one would want to pick it up, pump is where its at.


Recovery: 9/10

In hindsight, recovery was actually quite impressive. Muscle soreness was certainly decreased between workouts. I felt as though the pump facilitated an increase in blood flow and in turn an increase in nutrients delivered to worked muscle groups. With my previous supplementation to Hemavol, DOMS was astounding, it was a nice break to be able to walk right after a legs day and not have my other muscle groups really ever feel overly sore for more then a single day.



Final Conclusion: 9/10

Hemevol will certainly be something Id recommend and something I am going to purchase again. I LOVED the pumps it provided and think it would be well suited in a PCT or any other situation that might lead one to be a lil flat. Im certain it would be able to add to the retention of muscle gains and feeding them with adequate nutrients. I do think however that I will be either using a fraction of a serving of another stimmy preworkout to add to it or maybe even half a caffeine pill just to add a tiny bit of UMPH! but not kill the workout or my pump.




Thanks again to iForce for allowing me to run this product, it was a pleasure and I look forward to not only running it again but now trying out much more of the iForce line considering the great success that I feel Hemavol is.

Talked to the day manager, the one Im tight with.... Deads are more then OK to perform in the gym, chalk is even allowed if it doesnt create an extreme mess... The other guy, the "Owner", was in fact the owner and I was told he was likely just in "a mood" that night or I was lifting next to someone else that had been tossing weights too much in the past that he had to warn, so felt the need to ask me to be careful as well, or any number of reasons, But deads are ok and Im cleared to do them...

I think Ill just leave out my headphones next time around so theres no scapegoat aspect to the lift as to why im "dropping" the weights.


But if this becomes a continuous issue, when I know Im not taking things too far or doing damage to the equipment, I will be leaving and going back to the POWERHOUSE gym. I think this made the wife happy since she actually likes the classes they offer but was all for supporting me and heading over to the other gym if they were going to be ridiculous and restrict deads.

Good news on the gym. Well kinda. The owner is mental lol. But at least you don't have to move gyms. And it's good for the wife too. :).
