Understanding what I'm reading.

So I'm sure I'm not the only one out there that feels that they are somewhat in the dark in reguards to a lot of the discussion on chemicals and how the react in our bodies. So my question is I'd like to do some reading to learn more but am lost with where to start. I've never taken chemestry and basic biology is the extent of my science knowledge. So any good beginner materials to pick up? I'm not shooting for Patrick Arnold status but wouldn't mind being able to read chromatographs and spectrum graphs. Also would like to understand chemical structures as well. Thanks

can I ask why you want to be able to read GCs?
see that's what I'm talking about, I have no idea even what a GC is. Also all this stuff is pretty interesting to me and depending on how into it I get I may or maynot persue some type of career out of it.

bump in hope of help, otherwise I guess chemisry for dummies.

here is the first place to start. "henry v learn technical information" thread. and begin reading.

another place would be to buy or download a copy of anabolics 10th edition, and read it.
