Cung Le v Vitor at UFC 139.
ha I doubt he will ever be in the UFC again if he does something like that.
That has an interesting ring to based on name recognition, but short of some severe anomoly, I don't see Vitor losing this. For sure Cung Le will keep it standing. I've never seen a fighter look so awkward as Cung Le on the ground attempting some form of GnP, the few times he's taken it there. Cung has that interestig spin kick, but I think Vitor's going to overwhelm him. I'm interested to see this fight though.
It'll be some fireworks, though. Le is an interesting striker almost in the Machida mode from a uniqueness standpoint. That being said, Vitor has thunder in his hands and it only takes 1 glancing punch from him to end the night.
Melendez is the one I'm wanting to see most. Hell, a lot of the LW's would be awesome to see in the UFC (Thomson, Melendez, JZ, Blanco, Masvidal).
Did you watch the Strikeforce fights tonight?
This has the making of a fun fight to watch.Cung Le v Vitor at UFC 139.
Roger Gracie is in a major MMA organization because he's arguably the best grappler to ever live. The dude won 7 consecutive BJJ world championships in his weight class and 4 open weight championships.

I know Josh Barnett personaly and have followed his career since his Super Brawl days. As a person and a competitor I think he's badass and Catch wrestling is dope.
I cant stand that Gracie. He looks so awkward and weak. Looks like he seriously lacks fighter instinct and is there due to his family.
I also cant stand Big Foot silva. The guy always get Knocked around it seems like and wins and loses. He just looks like a retard and I hate when he cant finish a fight and loses. So glad he lost.
Josh Barnett winning....blah hes so fat without his Masteron haha
I was just shocked that this was the guy who almost sent Fedor packing. His striking & timing looked so crisp against Fedor and he worked the hell out of his ground. I was shocked at the entirety of the situation and that shock is augmented by the fact Cormier was a second stringer to boot.
I thought it was pretty funny. I am now rooting for Cormier. Weird sh!t happens in Strikeforce. These guys go balls to the wall most of the time.
I liked his homies in the stand going buck wild when he won. I really, really don't see him getting past someone like Barnett, but I would have been equally confident in saying that about Silva prior to last night. Does Cormier really carry that much fire in his punch? Or does Silva just have a weak chin? I mean, they said Cormier comes from a pretty mean wrestling pedigree, so he could sprawl & brawl, who knows. I love rooting for unexpecting underdogs, so war Cormier.
I am not sure about his power, but I feel big foot gets caught very often. Just his looks alone piss me off haha. I think hes in big trouble against Josh. Strikeforce HW division is crazy!
Odd workout today. The order of my opening exercises weren't ideal, but ish was locked down and I didn't want to stand around and wait.

Treadmill HIIT 10 min.
My cardio-shape is rather poor at the moment. I skipped two weeks of cardio and I'm back to step 1, but it'll come back if I remain consistent. My workout buddy Dusty, plays football and he wants to start doing some speed & agility based HIIT on a field, so I really need to up my cardio if I plan on not having a concurrent stroke & heart attack on the field.
Strength is certainly up. The Guillotine press was the most prevalent, but it could have a lot to do with simply becoming more physiologically familiar with the lift. Incline Bench felt stronger as well.
Mean chest day!
Guillotine press~ is that like bench press to the neck?
I need to get my cardio in too... sprints or something... haven't done ANY cardio in a long time... ever since only working out at home.. I miss the stairs haha.
Mean lifts!
That's a sick snatch. I barely can do 65lbs. And that's with crap form. So i stopped doing um lol.
Looks like your programming is working.![]()
What are the poterier chain 1arm db rows?
It's like a traditional one arm Db row, except you're holding the Db in a overhand grip, instead of a neutral grip (palms facing your body) and instead of pulling the Db up and back, keeping close to your ribs, you're pulling the Db outward & back and kind of high, near your head, very similar to a face pull in terms of ROM, but the body is in a different angle.

bro, why you gotta freak me out and change your pic haha
Ah thanks!! I think I'll give that on a try!
VolcomX311 said:You'll be able to pull a lot more then you think, because the upper back/middle traps do get involved in the lift. Let me know how it goes.
Lol, it's the Fall avi. Who do you have, Rampage or Jones? I think the bulk of the MMA universe is going with Jones, as am I, but I'm rooting for Rampage.
I agree exactly. I want Page to bring back the power and actually get to hit someone. Jones will take this, he follows a game plan better, page doesnt.
There are a few fighters I like enough where a win makes me jump out my chair screaming and a loss puts me in a slump, BJ Penn, Ben Henderson, Brock and Rampage. The greatest Rampage victory for me was Rampage vs. Chuck Lidell II, because Chuck was still such a dominant champ at the time. If Rampage defeats JBJ, I think the JBJ victory will eclipse the Lidell victory for me. JBJ is still a green, green champ in comparison to Lidell's reign at the time, but JBJ seems to carry a greater sense of, "I'm an MMA beast" factor. Chuck was a good striker, but so was Rampage and Rampage does well against other strikers, so the odds were good. With JBJ, I can see him taking Rampage down and doing what he does with those tenticle arms of his.
I'm a big BJ Penn and Ben Henderson fan, love watching them fight.
I'm becoming more and more emotionally unattached to fighters and just watching it for the sport. With Fedor, Wand, and Crocop all well past their respective primes, the fighters that drew me in are gone. Today, it seems like there's too many athletes and not enough fighters out there.
I hear what you're saying. The first fighter I was emotionally attached to was Mirco by a long shot. There are a few things more exhilerating then watching somene get KO'd by a high kick. One of my favorites was CC vs Aleks and then them showing Fedor sort of pacing in the back room in reaction to his brother catching Mirco's graveyard kick.
By athletes as oppose to fighters, do you mean guys who fight for a decision win Greg Jackson style, as oppose to guys who try to finish a fight?
Pretty much, but I don't just throw Jackson under that bus. It's slowly been going that way to keep records looking better and marketability. I know that not every fight is going to be finished, but the decision rate is climbing and it especially looks bad when you have 3 champs (Edgar,Cruz, and GSP) who have been mainly been winning by decision.
