Volcom's Anabeta, Adamantium, Division I, Titanium XL, Erase Log

I'm sure he has already worked that out with Dana White lol

It's not Dana that handles it, though. He looked noticeably smaller against Werdum than he did against Rogers (the Rogers fight was in TX; there's no testing here) and I wouldn't be surprised if he came in more around the 240 lb range.

That really would make a lot of sense. Granted, Rogers has zero ground game, but even so, Reem was throwing him around on the feet like Rogers was 2 weight classes beneath him.

Sorry about the delay in update. Labor Day weekend I partied it up by eating spaghetti on three to four occassions (and a pizza at BJ's, no bueno).

I re-visited the full ROM dead lifts (again), starting off very light weight, moderate reps (again) and hopefully THIS time, I maintain a slow enough progression that my ego does not surpass the abilities of my lumbar (again).

Pseudo-Rehap Dead Lifts
135lbs x 20 reps
185lbs x 10 reps
185lbs x 10 reps
185lbs x 10 reps

Ego check for sure on these. The high school kids with their arched backs can outpull me off the ground at this point.

Rack Deads
135lbs x 10 reps
225lbs x 8 reps
315lbs x 8 reps
405lbs x 8 reps
495lbs x 8 reps
585lbs x 3 reps

Being that today was my first day back at Deads *again* my posterior chain was plenty fatigued and I certainly felt it on these.

Hammer High Rows
185lbs x 10 reps
205lbs x 10 reps
225lbs x 8 reps
245lbs x 6 reps

Seated Cable Rows
120lbs x 10 reps
130lbs x 10 reps
140lbs x 10 reps

Bent Over Barbell Shrugs (reverse grip) *makes for a good combination of scapular elevation and retraction and hard as hell*
185lbs x 10 reps
205lbs x 10 reps
225lbs x 8 reps
225lbs x 8 reps

I really wanted to run today, but my legs felt shaky, even during the BB bent over shrugs. I'm sure my glutes & hams are in a world of hurt, in spite of the nursery weight I used on the Deads, but baby steps with those *again*

As for the stack. I can say my aggression is up for sure. Some dude honked at me during lunch (undeservingly) and I genuinely considered getting at my car (when we pulled up to the red light) so I could go bang on his car window and I don't know, end up on the news for some dumb BS. Then reason kicks in and I realize, ah, aggression has me processing irrational thoughts... lets me know the stack is having some kind of effect on my test. Also, libido is up. Good things so far.

I'm stoked about the news about a Brock vs Overeem and the UFC is also planning an even in the Sayatama Super Arena, Japan Event, which is cool in of itself, but would have been much more exciting if we didn't already know how fighters such as Akiyama, Aoki, and Takanori Gomi stacked up against the UFC fighters.

Any way you can do some GHRs?

Damn, that's a good idea. I can't believe I overlooked such a simple and obvious exercise for troubled lumbars. I can definitely do GHR's. I used to do GHR's before every dead lift session when I first started going heavy on them, but I completely overlooked them and hypers as well. Such completely relevent exercises, that I'd completely left behind, thanks for the reminder. I've done hip thrusters more recently then I've done GHR's and GHR's are at least 10 times more convenient.

Try holding the weight behind your head and rounding your upper back at the bottom while doing hypers. I felt this completely in my lumbar instead of also feeling it in my hams and glutes.

I'm feeling the DOMS in my hams, glutes and middle traps already. I still wished I would have done my HIIT today, but my legs were already thrashed.

Sick workout! Nice job.

Kos vs Hughes is official. I hope Hughes takes it....but I think the sport has passed him now, Kos should be able to knock him out pretty easy imo.

I don't see Hughes outwrestling Kos at this venture of the game and if BJ coud KO Hughes with a jab... BJ may be more technical then Kos in the striking department, but I'm fairly confident Kos carries more power in his punches. I don't like either fighter. For me, Hughes' only saving grace is that he became cool with BJ and has helped BJ out in training camps, so I may etch more toward rooting for Hughes then Kos.

I'm righteously sore in my middle traps, in a way that only full ROM deads can elicit. Hams and glutes are a little sore, but not as bad as I thought they'd be. I slept like a log last night too, which is uncommon for me without pharmaceutical assistance.

I just can't wait for the fight!

Glad you had good sleep!

Im late but count me in Volcom. Btw Hughes vs Sanchez or Kos is a fight id like to see. Pulling for Hughes on this one.

Hey Rulk, glad to have you along. It feels like long time no see (since my log I guess). I'm pulling for Hughes as a result of his association with Penn.

Diaz is out; Condit is in.

Does Dana text you with hourly updates or what?! Fine with me. I much prefer Condit to Diaz. Not unlike my inherent bias for ex PRIDE fighters, I have a bias for the WEC guys, even though WEC was still UFC light, referring to weight, not a talent judgement. Some people don't like Benderson because of his outspokeness for his beliefs, but he's a beast of a fighter and I don't think he's ever looked better then his last fight against Miller.

The most entertaining Benderson fight will probably always be Benderson/Cerrone I, but the way Ben dismantled Dan mother-effn Miller was by far the most impressive to me. Primarily because I was thinking in my head that Dan Miller was probably his first true UFC "elite" opponent and I was actually giving the slight edge to Miller, so the outcome was breath taking for me. One shot killer KO's like Machida's Daniel-Son crane kick or Andy's mysteriors one-hit KO's aren't displays of domination "to me," it's round after round of getting beat on the feet and on the ground that makes me go damn, dude is getting owned on a talent vs talent basis.

I've got big hopes for a metoric rise in the popularity of the newly transitioned WEC guys, primarly, Bendo, Cerrone and Aldo.

Odd Test

The suggested use for Titanium is 2 caps, twice daily, but for a one-time only what the hell reason, I took an additional 2 caps of Titanium before I went to bed, everything else remained the same dosing wise and whether the resulting symptom was related or not was uncertain, but I had sex dreams basically all night and I can still recall the gist of who it was I was dreaming about, pretty vividly. Not so much because of who it was, but I recall my thoughts while I was dreaming, I kept thinking, what the hell, why won't I cum?! I'd get close, but nothing, maybe TMI, but that was an uncommon dream for me and I found it interesting that it occurred after a dose of Titanium pre bedtime.

My friend and I work in front of a computer all day. It's a race to break the MMA news to each other.

FYI, it was Jim Miller that Bendo dominated. Dan is the MW that just fought Rousimar.

That's right. I get the two brothers mixed up. Jim Miller wasn't really on my radar until sometime last year and I'm pretty oblivious about Dan's accomplishments.

Also, I'm usually the one digging up the latest & greatest MMA news, so having someone even more in the know is nice.

I'm gonna be honest. I sometimes have the most uninspired chest workouts, especially right now when they seem to be my weakest point. For years chest was a strong suite and the strength & size came along with aggressive progression. Following my most recent cut, my chest seems to have taken the biggest blow and after years of not having to worry about "bringing up" my chest, now at a time where I should, that desire is still absent. I'll work on that mental aspect of my game and try to get my chest back to a respectable level of strength.

Incline Press
185lbs x 10 reps
185lbs x 8 reps
185lbs x 7 reps
185lbs x 6 reps
185lbs x 6 reps
185lbs x 5 reps

Guillotine Press
*I don't normally do these and I feel regular bench presses are superior in nearly every adaptation related manner, not to mention guillotine presses have an serious, inherent danger value as suggested by its name, but I was in the mood for a new stimulus, so I decided to give these a go today*

135lbs x 10 reps
155lbs x 8 reps
155lbs x 8 reps
155lbs x 8 reps
155lbs x 6 reps

I'm not as big of a bitch as these numbers would reflect, but guillotine presses will take your flat bench numbers down an average of 50-60lbs, at least for me. Nice deep stretch though. Reminds me of Ken Shamrocks customized, bent barbell for bench presses.

Machine Flies
130lbs x 10 reps
145lbs x 10 reps
160lbs x 10 reps
175lbs x 8 reps
175lbs x 6 reps

BW Dips x 10 reps, x 4 sets.

I've had better days. I don't think I've been pleased with a chest workout for awhile. My mind still recalls when I could put up 275lbs for 10 reps as an opening set on the flat and still hit 225 easy for 10 on the incline as a following exercise. Granted, I'm 30lbs lighter now, my strenth standards are still at a 215-220lbs version of myself, primarily because my back hasn't missed a beat. My shoulders are down a bit compared to previous capabilities, but nothing has been more detrimentally pronounced as my chest. Hopefully I'll be able to recover some of that strength by the end of this stack, whilst remaining sub 200lbs.

Interesting with the TitaniumXL at night, so you took a total of 6 caps that day? a full 2550mg of Fenugreek I don't know anyone who has dosed that high, but interesting effect!

I feel ya on the strength loss from cutting, it's very depressing :(

To Rodja or anyone else who's interested, this has been the best source of MMA news I've found. This site is a collective of all the popular MMA news sources, it's pretty cool: Invalid Link Removed

That's a nice site.

Who do you think draws Penn? None of the top WWs are available and it only makes sense for it to be at LW.

Did you check this new video out from Nick?

Nogueira vs Mir 2 is now verbally agreed! I go to mmabay for my mma news.

I hope the MMAbay reference is a joke. They're awful and notorious for making up rumors without any basis.

I hope for all of MMA that Nog beats Mir this time. If there's any justice left, then that GQ prick will get beaten down again.

As far as what's a hot name right now, hot enough to contend with Penn's name stature, maybe Guida or Benderson gets a bump? Fitch's name is big enough, but there's just no interest in Fitch fights from the public and I think Dana already ruled out Fitch. I'm thinking Ben Henderson gets a crack or maybe Guida.

Thanks for posting. Nick called Carlos Condit, Carlos Conduit. Does anybody know the reason Nick was pulled? I know Dana is always looking to make the most money out of a situation and Nick vs GSP I think carries greater interest then Condit vs GSP, so I wonder what Nick did or what the hell happened to get him pulled.

eh they seem to always have the news up first tho.

Andy is the only person I don't like from Blackhouse. If Big Nog vs Mir 2 does officially go down, I'll be on the edge of my seat pulling for Nog. I'd actually be a lot more interested to see those two guys go to the ground, then settling it on the feet.

Nick missed the promotional conference twice. Lorenzo put on his Twitter, "Does anyone know where Nick Diaz is? Lol." because no one could reach him.

Bendo and Guida are fighting each other, so IDK who's left at LW other than maybe (read: hopefully) Melendez, but even he's booked. Dana says he has someone in mind, but hasn't divulged any details yet.

Back to who pulls BJ. Maybe Anthony Pettis, I don't think Guida is willing to risk his contedership. Ben might be hungry enough to say what the hell, but I know Guida is more cognizent of his MMA career decisions at this time. Pettis is a hot name and his loss to Guida was still a very respectable one.

God, Nick never learns. That's ridiculous. He's seasoned enough in the business of MMA to not blow these kind of things at this point in his career. He's reaping what he sows. I actually like him as a fighter, but that's just inexcusable at this point.

With Ben and Guida's hair flying around, it's going to look like an Amazonian tribesman fight.

It's only about 7 weeks until BJ is scheduled to fight. That's a short time for someone to prepare for him.

What's going to urk me about the Nick Diaz thing, is he's going to have the perspective and whine like he was randomly screwed by the UFC without cause. I have friends like that, the fault of any situation they're in is a result of some external force. I hate the victim mentallity.

For sure, but if offered the opportunity, Anthony has one of the strongest atttitudes of, "I don't care, I'm just here to fight." I'd be shocked if he was offered and actually turns it down. He less concerned about belts then the other top names in his division, but he's young, that tends to change over time & experience with all the fighters, but for now, he's got a, "whatever, let's do it" attitude. We'll see.

WTF is wrong with Dana lol, BJ Penn VS Nick Diaz now!!!

He's manic-depressive. There was talk of Diaz getting cut and he gets a minor downgrade. He didn't deserve an automatic title shot anyways and this is going to be a great fight.

Whoa, I heard this here first. Wow, Nick's handle on boxing vs BJ's handle on counter punching, I really didn't see this coming. I agree with Rodja that Nick didn't deserve an immediate shot at GSP and this does make a good fight stylistically. Both are described to have "boxing" as oppose to just stand up and both are fantastic BJJ'ists. The interest has to be phenomenal as well. Not really something people have clamored about recently, but now that it's been brought up, it's like, hello, wow, what a great idea.

Today was a rest day. Historically, I'm a 24hr later DOMS guy, so I thought yesterday was as bad as the DOMS in my legs & glutes was going to get, but today, I was walking around like I fell on a seatless bicycle. I'm basically sore everywhere. Tomorrow is my "official" back day with my workout partner, which I'll emphasize the verticle resistance and give my rows & such a rest.

Today was suppose to be my workout partner and I's official back day, but he was called to fly up north to San Fransico for business, which happens on occassion and since I'd hit my back rather recently, I thought I'd give legs a shot after a good 2-3 months lay off from any form of squats. I have a hard time establishing a discipline to consistently hit squats because I have very little desire for big or strong legs in of itself, however, since I'm re-attempting to incorporate dead lifts in my regimine again, it sparked a desire to squat, so I squatted today. My legs are horrendously deconditioned for squatting, so I knew today was going to be less then impressive, but if I want to see accelerated strength progression from this stack, then my quasi-virigin squats should be a good start.

Back Squats
185lbs x 10 reps
205lbs x 10 reps
205lbs x 8 reps
205lbs x 8 reps

Front Squats
135lbs x 10 reps *yes, this was an actual set...*
155lbs x 8 reps
155lbs x 7 reps
155lbs x 6 reps

Overhead Squats
65lbs x 3 reps
95lbs x 5 reps
95lbs x 4 reps
95lbs x 3 reps

Bodyweight GHR's x 10 reps x 4 sets

Wow, my shoulders definitely had the hardest time maintaining the overhead squat position, but it'll come in short time. Also, I performed the GHR's with extremely short rests in between sets and my low back developed a great, intense tightness. It felt cool to have so much blood localize right at the lumbar region, it really felt kind of good.

Strong workout. I'm still experiencing symptoms of aggression above & beyond my normal limits, which I have to be careful with, because I have one of those bosses who is never wrong, I mean EVER, and anytime there is a mistake or inconvenience, it's someone or something elses error and I almost opened my mouth today in reaction to anothger one of those situations this after, but I really bit down on my tongue.

I think I'm going to be more pro-active above low back specific workouts from now, maybe this was the missing ingredient in all my re-attempts are re-implementing deadlifts back into my life.

Let me tell you something...
Until Nick Diaz himself, says that he's fighting BJ Penn on Oct 29th, I'm not getting my hopes up for anything.
I spoke to Nick yesterday via text, and judging by what he said, I'm highly pessimistic that we will see Diaz inside the octagon, at all... much less against BJ Penn.

From a writer at Middleeasy.com

It wouldn't surprise me if Nick Diaz has a baby fit and screws the UFC and his MMA career. He is locked into a contract, so to just say, "I'm not fighting" will cause him some legal repropuctions, but I wonder if he couldn't fake an injury or I don't know. These are just rumors, but it's behavior only dumb enough that Nick could pull off.
