Help with healing after minor surgery

I had minor surgery on my back and the doc basically said I can't do any physical activity until the 10 stitches are out which is 2 weeks or I could prolong the healing process.

I have googled a bit about supps to take for healing and am taking Vitamin C, Bromelain, Zinc plus taking double my normal multi dose. I am also continuing with 3 protein shakes a day even though I am not working out. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I figured this weekend I could start doing some preacher curls as my back would not move at all and maybe early next week do some lower body isometrics. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Listen to the doctor and take the 2 weeks off. Lower you calories some to make up for reduced activity so you don't add fat

I appreciate the advice but I need to compete for my sport about 5 days after the stitches are due out so I want to do something between say thisSunday and then.

well that just sounds like a bad idea. take the time off...rest and recover. why take the chance of re injuring yourself and having to go through the entire process again?

Personally, I'd also be taking in additional BCAA's to help with recovery. This has seemed to help me with some injuries in the past - don't have clinical proof myself though.
