Just listening to some Stevie Ray Vaughan on the radio, god where did the good music go? Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Ted Nugent, The Doors, Neil Young, Johnny Cash.

Everybody now-a-days are listening to Hard-Core Rock Metal, not dissin' it, just i never see anybody listening to the good ole' music anymore. ****, my grandkids and that whole generation wont know about the great artists from the 60's and 70's, that music will be long forgotten by then i imagine, it's such a damn pitty.

Time flys, seems just like yesterday me and my old man were gettin into fist fights, then i'd storm off blaring "That Smell" by Lynyrd Skynyrd in my truck lol. I know i sound like an Old Man (actually bout to turn 27 here soon, pretty old huh?). But when i was young, i grew up around all those listed above and more, and when i was a teen, thats what i listened to. I loved that ****. I just hope this Music is not forgotten about.

I enjoy SRV wouldnt call myself a fan though.

I try to listen to everything my mp3 player goes from classical right up to electronica. Curse of being a musican i suspose :)

Here! Good stuff! Btw --27 is NOT old! Lol! Bout to turn 34 but my wife says i still act like 18 quite a bit!

Big SRV fan here too. Check out the Austin City Limits DVD if you never have -- amazing performances from 83 and 88 I believe.

Huge fan of SRV, too bad he isn't around still...

Yea man, it sucks, if you really think about it, all the great ones from back then died REALLY young, like late 20's early 30's. For instance, SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Most of the original members in Lynyrd Skynyrd from that plane crash, John Lennon, more i can't think of i'm sure.

I know people who met him after he cleaned up. Said he was the epitome of the southern gentleman.

He's a crazy mother****er no doubt, but somebody has to do it. :stooges:

Oh, and to add to that list of young deaths, Jim Morrison from The Doors died at like 27 i believe. He would have changed the world.

Don't forget Janis Joplin.

Did she die young? Never really kept up with her, either way she was/is a legend. No woman had that kinda voice.

Died at 27. The same age as Hendrix, Cobain etc.

Holy **** that's weird, like i said, i think Jim Morrison died at 27, as did Layne Staley from Alice In Chains (i think, i'm bout to look it up)

EDIT: Yes, looked it up, Jim Morrison died at 27, Layne Staley died at 34 though.

It is freaky. 27 seems to be the magic number for a lot of these artist. Amy Winehouse was just 27 too.

AIC is a awesome band by the way. Jerry Cantrell can still hold it down.

Man i've always liked Layne, and Mike Starr. Layne had a unique, gritty voice, nobody else had that ****. "Would" by AIC has to be my favorite.

There are so many good songs by that band, I can not pick just one. My personal favorites are angry chair, again, grind, nutshell and their newer song Your Decision. I agree that Layne had one of the most unique voices I have ever heard. If you listen to the new AIC stuff, it still sounds exactly like the old AIC which tells me that Cantrell was the man behind the style and music. His style and sound are hard to miss. The dude can play. Mike and Layne both went too soon. Message to the wise.... don't do drugs.
