Looking to thicken or add bulk (without meaningful carb intake) to my protein shakes

Hey all,

I had read in the past about a thickener or something I could mix with my protein shakes that will make them thicker. I would prefer if it have minimal caloric impact. I thought I had previously read about something, so I figured I'd ask.

I just prefer a thicker shake.

Check out the Whey to build muscle protein. It's delicious and very thick.. I prefer thin shakes but if you like them thick try the cake batter or expresso protein from NTBM.. I assume its thick cause its a blend of Iso/con/soy.
 
Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. Thick consistency and only 35cals in 8oz!

This! It makes my shakes thicker then milk does and only has 1 gram of carbs per cup and it tastes better then doing them in water. You can also add fiber which does have some cals but they're from fiber and have negligible impact. I like to use Myogenix Pro Fiber because it's a good fiber source with probiotics without any junk added. It's also unflavored so you can add it to anything.
 
est. 5oz skim milk, 8oz water, 40g whey, 15g casein, N2CARB (Maltodextrine) 30g. sometimes peanut butter.

I dont care what your doing, dieting, recomp, bulk, all out cut. You need fast working pro, carbs after a workout to repair. sometimes they should be the only carbs of the day you ll take in.
 
1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese. 5 carbs, 12g casein protein, what more could you really want from something?

i recpeanutbutter but its got alot of cals. or just mixe iso-pea protein, its veyr thick. you can make a 50/50 whey/pea blend at TP.
 
i personally add so much protien to my shake i like iso whey or some whey con's as i add 60-80g per 500ml 3-4X a day. :-P
 
Well, if your only worry is carbs...

Like mentioned, I also use Almond Unsweetened Milk on my shakes. But I'm on the Metabolic Diet and therefore I also add Macadamia Oil; it adds a great amount of good fats to the shake as well thickens it a whole lot.

Doesn't taste half bad either.
