Is Creatine working???...

So I've been taking creatine for almost a month now and I haven't gained much weight. I've gained only 2.5lbs since taking it. I was at 180lbs, not at 182.5lbs. I am also taking Jack3d as pre-workout supplement and take creatine and whey protein post workout.

Only thing I didn't do with the creatine was the loading phase which I've heard some people say, that it isn't necessary.

Just because you're taking creatine does not mean that you're going to gain weight, even if it does hold water inside the muscle.

Creatine loading is unnecessary, but be aware that it takes ~3 weeks for your muscle creatine levels to reach threshold at ~5g a day if loading is not done.

And just because you don't "notice" anything does not mean that it not working.

2.5lbs in 30 days isn't all that bad bro.

What expectations did you have?

What are your goals?....to just gain weight?.....to put on some LBM?

I'm trying to stay focused on the supplements here...but I can help from wondering about your diet. Nutrition is THE key.

I'm trying to get more lean body mass and more toned.

There is no such thing as "toning" (I have never heard a guy use this term before). Toning is:
a. Losing bodyfat,
b. Gaining muscle mass,
c. Doing a and b simultaneously (otherwise known as recomping).

You want b - Invalid Link Removed.

NUTRITION AND TRAINING are the keys to this!

^^^^ This and you could be recomping already. Creatine will help maintain muscle mass while losing fat. Don't go solely on what the scale says. You're going to have to measure body fat as well.

Alright, thanks for the advice guys. How long should I be taking creatine for??

As long as you want. I personally like to cycle on and off it every several months, but have been using it in some form since like 1998. My big bag of mono back then barely dissolved in boiling water lol. Oh how far we've come.

No worries :)

As I said earlier, no need for cycling it, and I personally use it all year round.

What type of creatine are you using, how are you taking it, and how much are you taking. There are a lot of variables when it comes to the overall absorption.
