Well based on the ingredient list Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard Whey doesnt seem to have egg in it, so will that improve chances it will get in through customs or will it be seized either way?

Either product gets seized sorry. I spoke to an AQIS agent a few years ago and a simplistic version of what she told me was: Whey is dairy based so is seized by AQIS due to mad cow disease. Egg products gets seized due to bird flu and other nasties that we don't have in Australia. Further to this you can get import permits if you get the manufacturer on side to give you declarations that it is free of these problems but I can tell you ON will not reply to you, at least that has been my experience when I had some stuff seized. I recall some of the smaller retailers that were on this board helped a few brothers out and they got whey powders in with declarations in the packaging and no import licence. I think it was a company called 'all the whey' NP use to sell their stuff and might have access to declarations if you ask ...
So its not imposable if you jump a few hoops, give AQIS a call if you are really keen and see what they say things may have changed. Best of all if it gets seized you have an option of paying $40 to send it back. At least that was that they did with me and its not like a customs seizure were you are threatened with legal action its not a big deal at all.

With protein powder you just have to know what to avoid.
As far as the ON protein is concerned, it's the "Aminogen" enzyme blend (AQIS have no way of knowing what enzymes are in there, as such, it is seized until documentation from the manufacturer is provided - something you will never get). Don't even know why you'd bother with ON when there are so many fantastic alternatives (such as Nutrapro).
With egg, you need a manufacturer's declaration to state that the protein has something like 5% (or is it 10) or less egg product, if you have it shipped by FedEx, I believe they will endavour to do this for you, only to charge you a few hundred for their trouble.

Hey mate I've had no issues getting Alpha T2 or Erase in so far and I am fairly certain one of the packages was inspected..

you will find that once you start ordering in large items like protien the shipping will jack the price up to a point where its just not worth the gamble with customs.

After doing a bit more research into Nutrapro, seems like it is worth a try over ON powders. However has anyone manage to get Nutrapro through customs?
Since its made my Nutraplanet I assume they are more than happy to provide a declaration right?

This order was shipped December 2nd and there are no updates from USPS to say WTF is going on.. It was shipped Express International Mail. What's really odd is that the tracking number says it left the US on the 2nd, but then says the shipping info arrived on the 6th.. It's now the 9th and I am getting worried... Has anyone else had issues with postage lately?

The problem with USPS is that they dont update that tracker often. Also it might be delayed at customs. But in general USPS is rather slow, last time i had something sent with them it arrived at my place and the tracker still said it just landed in Australia.
Don't worry too much.

You should contact them but they have been helpful in the past for others and some people managed to get stuff that was held released with there help for certain products.

Yes, I've imported nutrapro without drama (Think package was inspected too, but can't remember for sure). Unless something has changed, there's nothing in the ingredient list which AQIS/Customs will have a problem with.
Most proteins are fine, just stay away from egg, milk and enzymes

Maybe, maybe not. But with the cheaper stuff sourced locally, I find myself questioning the legitimicy of the product all too often which is why I don't take chances and buy from somewhere reputable.
By my calculations, flavoured protein with 80% WPC after shipping (if you're going to be ordering other supps anyway) costs the same as the el cheapo unflavoured stuff you can buy locally. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places (best we keep it out of this thread).

I tend to disagree. As punters we have to sort through the reps, the non declared reps, statements by people that were sponsored, the people that want to be sponsored in the future so suck up, and lets not forget the placebo effect, which is going to be higher than normal if the user has been on a board reading positive reviews before trying the product. You should know this!
At least with an Auzzie I can be sure they are not a rep as most company's wont look after us, they have risked hard earned money with our crappy customs so are going to be less forgiving of bunk ...
For the record there are a few products I would love to get on here and rubbish ... these are products that get Stella reviews on here (at least for a while). Interestingly the companies have a very strong rep presence and we know what happens when you rubbish their products. (Not saying Erase is or isn't that good but I believe the compound was released by another company and was never so positively praised for them) Rightly or wrongly your just going to have to be a little forgiving of my skepticism and desire to give people that I have a connection with (Australians) more cred than others ...

Then you need to discern and get to know who the reputable individuals are. Reps or not, there are many here who give comprehensive and honest reviews on products - including myself - and who will tell you as it is if queried on something that they have or are using.
Do remember that not all "Aussies" are actually Aussies, and many of the so-called "Australians" on this board initially migrated there from New Zealand.
And don't be so hasty to assume that just because one lives in Australia or New Zealand that they are not approached by companies to fill representative positions - I know for a fact that many do not care what country an individual is from, and if said individual has the qualities that a company is looking for (and I am not talking about the companies that post threads advertising rep positions, but those that personally select individuals and approach them), then they have been asked.

I ran Erase as part of my PCT after a cycle of H-drol. I don't think I'll buy this product again, not that it was bad, it just wasn't as good as I'd been hoping.

I got alri lean dreams in and it has melatonin in it. I don't use it often but I do like it alot! I get really restful sleep and feel good the next day, probably melatonin on its own would be just as good tho and heaps cheaper.

I saw an Aussie distributor had APP NUTS "Free Test" surely this is not the American Version? That had DHEA in it? Anyone know if its a crap watered down Aussie version?

I hope you know what the product is - if not don't order it. If you do know then it's a risk importing it but I would probably rate it a 65% chance of slipping through.
