No proof.. alot of BS. I've seen something similar to this somewhere before.. hmm

You realize Cam drives around campus in a 2000 dollar Vespa scooter right? Julio drives around in a Escalade. Dre drives around in a Charger. If we want to talk about "obvious" things then I think it'd be alot easier to look there. The only thing is that Auburn is on top and so is Cam. So everyone is going to direct there attention to Cam and Auburn and not worry about the chic fil-a bowl and whatever bowl Ohio State makes it to participants.

Ohio State plays in a BCS bowl just about every year dude you know that. Nobody is talking about paying players elsewhere right now the bright light is shining directly on Auburn talking about other programs is irrelevant.

Word around Auburn is that the NCAA will be clearing Auburn by the end of this week from all wrong-doing in the matter. Good news -- War Eagle!

ESPN is saying that the FBI is interviewing people today and are trying to trace the money trail. See bikeswim's post for a definition of denial.

After 4 amazing seasons, Florida crashed to earth this year and I can't help but be super envious of Auburn. Howvever, I think the FBI should be tracking terrorists and not Cam Newton. Just my $.02

I don't disagree completely with that OG but My understanding is that it's a money laundering issue which is their area to enforce.

:damnit: was just trying to get you guys to shut up about it... lol

I understand. However, I can't help but think that Cam Newton and Reggie Bush did what they did by their own abilities, period. Money may have been involved and shame on the system for not creating an equal playing field for all teams vis-a-vis recruiting. I do know that none of us has any clue as to how deep, far, or long ago all this has been going on.

I have more of a problem with PED's in sports that actually create physical advantages for cheaters over honest athletes.

agreed. I say we lead the case against that new alabama recruit from Australlia and his obvious use of PED's.

It's the lead story on every sports show across the country dude. If this was about Ohio State I would want it to go away well but it's not going away anytime soon.

Fairley helped him out a little bit with the late hit.. That has had as much run today as the Cam stuff.

Agreed. Also how can a major college football team police each and every kid? I don't think it's possible to keep every kid away from agents and boosters especially in light of the fact that so many of these kids come from impoverished backgrounds. The rules are the rules however and if these violations are true they are particularly egregious and the punishment HAS to be severe.
In terms of recruiting what would you do to level the playing field? recruiting success has always been largely about success on the field, facilities etc. Florida is a prime example right now with a top 5 class every year.

And we will see how they do this year having come off such a bad one - who knows??

I'm not saying that things aren't working the best they can. I'm not interested in a socialist system for college football. All I'm saying is when a rivet bursts loose because of all the pressure why call in the SWAT team. Just call a plumber.

WHO was THAT defense on the field Saturday? You got me on that one.

(I know the Utes were overrated...just let me enjoy the win.)

you guys killed TCU with that win.

I'm just proud of the team for finally knocking off a top 25 team. It's been too long as was shown on the field afterwards. Its weird though, how we were ranked I believe around 50-52. The utes fall by a large margin, and still don't drop out of the top 25. Amazing, since we just made it back to .500.

It was a good win for you guys for sure. Sorry I don't know what their record is you said .500 so must be what 5-5?

Yep. I'm not looking forward to next week. We all saw what happens when we get cut blocked and the triple option ran at us 90% of the time. Kelly better had learned what not to do. I can't take another raping like that one. We need the Army and USC win.

As usual. However, the problem I'm starting to see with the Florida staff is that they recruit for *****stars, NOT needs!

On the other hand, one down year out of 4 brillant years should not an entitlement a**hole fan of me make....

I apologize to those who were not as fortunate as I circa 2006-2009

I was watching the recruiting show on ESPN U today and they indicated the same thing. One guy stated that the qb starting there now (Brantley?) never fit their system at Florida but Florida nabbed him because he was highly rated. They also stated that there isn't anyone on the team that can do what Tebow did for years and that's get those tough couple yards to extend a drive or punch it in from the 2 yardline. idk if any of that is true I've watched the Gators a whopping twice this year.

Well success does breed expectation that's for sure. It was about as good as it gets in the Tebow era at Florida.

Unfortunately, very true.

Also we (Gator fans) heard today John Brantley announcing his intention to return senior year as well as Coach Meyer stating that OC Steve Addasio was not in jeopardy of losing his job. The developement of our 2 highly talented freshman QB's (Burton and Reed) coupled with a new, non-Tebowesque OC was among things we felt mandatory for a successful 2011. Now both seem to be excluded. Although I'm not blaming Brantley for the OC playing away from his strengths.

You either recruit to fit your system or you coach to utilize the talent you have simple as that. I know that's easier said than done sometimes. That team has some amazing athletes on the field just get the ball in the hands of Demps and Rainey and let them make plays.

you can have Cam..Pryor..Mallet..and Denard

I'll take Matt McGloin......forcasted to be the best QB ever at Penn ST

So the QB who is a walk on and 3rd on the depth chart out of camp who has played 3 games one of which was a blow out by your rival is already projected to be the best QB in Penn St. history? Doesn't take much to get the Penn St. fan base excited.

he was originally th efirst quarterback on debt chart until the last minute..for whatever reasons.....I've heard he has the same techniques and swagger as Brett Favre ( i know ..Flame me)...just saying what i read and heard.

BTW...I am not completely sold, but i have high hopes for next season.:usa:

If you have the time... this thread is off the charts:

I told you... "maverick booster."

"It's unclear what, if any, direct connection McGregor has to Newton. Back in 2008, McGregor did donate a million bucks toward construction of a new arena at Auburn."

"NOTE: I PREFACE ALL OF THIS BY SAYING I CANNOT NOR HAVE NOT VERIFIED ANY OF THE INFORMATION CONTAINED HEREIN. WITH THAT UNDERSTANDING, THIS IS A COMPILATION OF, AND INCLUDING THREADS AND DISCUSSIONS ON TIGERDROPPINGS.com’s SEC RANT REGARDING CAM NEWTON, AUBURN UNIVERSITY’S AD, AND AU’S BOARD OF TRUSTEES. PLEASE ENJOY."

Coming from such an intelligent guy as yourself, I am kind of upset that this is as good of information as you are willing to share with us. Just ONE (1) fact would be so nice to see in this case. Anyone can point fingers and make rumors but a fact is needed before I care about this situation anymore.

Dude... I'm not sharing information. I just said it's an "off the charts" thread. The disclaimer you copied above is pretty blatant. I just thought it was a helluva lot of effort for an LSU fan to put into one thread.

...but a fact is needed before I care about this situation anymore.

So, is it true that Finebaum opened up with "Take the Money and Run" by the Steve Miller Band... and closed with "Bad Moon Rising" by CCR?

It's pure comedy the way that guy jumps from one bandwagon to another on a weekly basis. That douche can really stir a pot.

Holy crap rub I just spent 1/2 an hour reading through that info and disclaimer aside that cannot all be explained away a some sort of rumor mongering. While some of the info may be speculation A great deal of it is factual. That reads like an investigative journalists piece. If this info is available on an online forum just imagine the information that the feds have. I am eagerly awaiting the outcome of this.

I've kept pretty quiet about the supposed inside info I've seen on another board (not TigerDroppings). I expect a MAJOR news break (good or bad for AU) either tomorrow or Friday.

Meanwhile, on another note... Chizik seems to have lost a little weight.

Breaking news...

ESPN has just reported that the FBI placed an individual in protective custody months ago, in connection with inappropriate recruiting practices at Auburn University. In a strange turn of events, the report states the man bribed AU into paying him $250,000 to stay away from its football program. No name has been released, but sources have confirmed the person is known online as...

TexasTitan.
