Very good article with Valid points.

I think I am going to try the 1200 mgs or close to it with glycobol. Morning , pre workout, post workout-on the last set, and the meal before the meal before bed.

I will be taking in more carbs than my pre-contest diet since that is just about over so we will se how this works.

Note that the mice where not made to workout in any fashion. They just recieved a the ALA which upregulates energy output and increases caloric expenditure. This is the same for athletes on super strict diets that lose both fat and LBM.

ALSO not in the bottom that the anti-anabolic propertires are easily negated by proper supplementation. Creatine would be an example. I would also add in 8-12 grams of luecine to upregulate mTOR and thus negating th enegative effects. If anything you will reap the benefits while avoiding the negative...a win win situation.

And remember heavy lifting also induces a lot of natural anabolic activity as well that may override the negative effects.

in this study remember low muscle pH is bad b/c it does not allow muscle to work optimally. Having a higher pH means more work able to be done. I believe this is why beta-alanine is so nice since it buffers for the increase in H+.

Im still looking for more good articles but i think very much any negative side on muscle catabolism can be negated quickly with proper preparation.

I test Na-RALA with no carb diet and let me say something.....WOW off course has a bad side (sometimes in a day go hypoglicemic) but take my BCAA and done glucose on the way.

p.s. with BA+BCAA i can mantain a big part of my muscles in no carb diet

actually if you wanna induce gluconeogenesis to allow ketogenic glucose production you may want to supplement with a complete spectrum Amino Acid source. Leucine is a ketogenic amino acid and cannot be converted to glucose. However alanine and glutamate are readily converted to pyruvate which can then be converted to glucose.

I like the BA+BCAA....but am i creatine mono whore and would probably add that in there lol.

Cheers!!

what did you think about Gaspari AminoMax 8000?

Active Ingredients: 91% Hydrolyzed Lactalbumin, L-Leucine, Taurine.

hmmm I just looked it it up....I have no idea what the profile is and what is the amino acid content of the lactalbumin. The leucine like I mentions is ketogenic. Taurine is not used to my knowledge to produce glucose. It has many other benefits aside from that.

It looks interesting....but i am very unfamiliar with it to be confident in sayign it has a proper range of amino acids to undergo gluconeogenesis. But it Look interesting though

I figure you would like this Andre. =)

Ill start my log probally next week after a deload week of not counting calories, still eating clean though, no crazy weight jumps here. worked too hard to get this off and I made a promise to myself I will look better next time I compete than this year after not doing my show, after I paid for registration. No worries though makes me want to make some impressive changes next time

What would be the dosage with NA-rala?? I already have a bottle of NP's around and wouldn't mind using it for this. But not sure if the dosage would be the same as regular ala?? Thoughts?

NA-RALA 150-300mg daily for ALA 600-1200mg it`s all depends in my case with 600mg of NA-RALA go hypoglycemic :D with no carbs

na-r-ala is 10-20 times more powerful than R-ala. (R-ala is good stuff and better than ala) l tend to think less is more with na-r-ala.

I still want to try dosing na-r-ala 4x;s daily 250 mgs per dosing in meal one ( carb meal) , pre workout, post workout(carb meal), and another meal(carb meal)

yeap i know that but the best of this is : potassium-R Lipoate or K-RALA

K-R-ALA (Potassium-R-Lipoate) like the old Glucophase XR the one and the only

Well, I took 1 pill NA-RALA pre-wo and one pill post. I definitely needed major carbs after that!! Not super hypo, but felt like I definitely needed food!! :food:

I did this today with Glycobol as well as yesterday. Plan on doing this a while and seeing how it turns out, while I am taking in more carbs than I have been

Same. I've been taking recompodrol with meals. I'll take the na-rala pre/post-wo and keep the carbs relatively high.
