2010 College Football Season

Then do Wins and Losses explain? They aren't showing it there either. Cam Newton does NOT ALLOW Auburn to lose. He is an actual heisman caliber player because he can take games over HIMSELF. Patrick Peterson is on that level too, that guy is unbelievable. Ingram has shown that he can not put a team on his shoulders and win a game for them like past heisman winners have done. All i'm saying is that it makes me sick to know that this guy who I see struggling every game has the same trophy that Bo Jackson, Hershel Walker and so many other great running backs have in their trophy cases.

Its a team game. Bama lost a ton of players. I didnt think they would repeat, but they are still a damn good team. Last year Ingram was more than deserving of the award. He played big in the big games. Gehardt had a great year but his team didnt win enough and didnt play the competition Bama played. Look at the numbers Ingram put up in the big games last year.

I love Peterson more than anyone. I think he is certainly a great player. I put him up there with Charles Woodson, Champ Bailey, and Shawn Springs as the best CBs Ive seen since the days of Primtetime. But Peterson made a huge mistake and got beat for a big TD by Jones. He was also beaten by Maize. Im just saying one one is perfect. Ingram is having a great year, just not a Heisman year. Its only been won back to back once for a reason.

Id be remissed if I forgot to say congrats to Jo Pa on reaching 400 wins. He is a great coach and a class act. Amazing the longevity that he has had.

Don't waste your time with hater boy. I almost pissed myself laughing when he mentioned Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker... as if he's ever watched a full game of either of them. :pat: I have seen all three of them play... live... and Herschel was by far the greatest running back to ever carry the pigskin in the SEC. Bo is a distant 2nd, mostly due to his durability issues, and the fact that he would take himself out of games, which used to infuriate Pat Dye. He also had a year where his carries were down due to injury. On the other hand, Walker still had a year of eligibility left. Ingram's stats last season were very similar to Jackson's 1985 numbers (his senior year). This, along with "putting the team on his shoulders and winning a game for them" against S. Carolina, made him extremely Heisman worthy in '09.

1. 1,891 yards. Herschel, 1981 (*Marcus Allen won the Heisman)
2. 1,786 yards. Bo, 1985 (Heisman)
3. 1,752 yards. Herschel, 1982 (Heisman)
4. 1,658 yards. Ingram, 2009 (Heisman)
5. 1,616 yards. Herschel, 1980
6. 1,213 yards. Bo, 1983
7. 829 yards. Bo, 1982
8. 728 yards. Ingram, 2008
9. 475 yards. Bo, 1984

So... Mark Ingram's already had better sophomore and junior years than Bo Jackson. I bet that makes haters sick too.

You mean there is football that actually matters outside the SEC? Most people prefer varsity over JV.

In all honesty the Big Ten is a very strong conference this year. Closing the gap for sure, but Id still say the SEC until proven otherwise.

I couldnt quote rubberring since I dont have enough post because of the links. I remember as a child running around with my football pretending I was Walker. Best RB Ive seen on the collegiate level. He was the UGA team in those days. You knew what was coming but still couldnt stop him.

Speaking of clueless... what exactly does my quote have to do with Big Ten and ACC stats?

But hey, since you couldn't handle my praise of JoePa, here are a few stats for you:

Paterno
400 wins (45 seasons)
.748 winning %
0-4 against Bryant

Bryant
324 wins (38 seasons)
.760 winning %
4-0 against Paterno (including a National Championship playoff)

...and my favorite Big Ten stat:

24-3 :yup:

I ♥ you and all, plenny... but you :baby:.

A "great" Heisman winning RB getting out rushed by 3 different players at Auburn this year. One who is a QB and one who is a true freshman who has been hurt most of the season and basically limping for touchdowns. I'm not even saying Dyer and McCalebb are better than Ingram, although I think Dyer will be when all is said and done. But this proved my offensive line theory even more so, as Auburn is loaded on the OL this year. I just feel that someone who is HEISMAN WORTHY should be able to be very productive even with an average offensive line and Ingram has not shown that. Everyone will say "oh he's not getting the carries he needs" and blah blah but do you really think Saban is stupid enough where he is just letting his Heisman stud player block for him every play if he thought he really was the best player in college football? Get real.

Your big game theory wasn't proven to handily when he ran for 50 yards on 17 carries against ARKANSAS and 16 carries for 30 yards against AUBURN. HEISMAN winners DO NOT TAKE games off, and Ingram did that.

Cam Newton 168 1122 6.7 14
Michael Dyer 120 723 6.0 4
Onterio McCalebb 64 557 8.7 5
Mark Ingram 85 544 6.4 8

Joe Pa is the man, a great coach. Total class act but Miles gave him that game at the end with more piss poor clock management. Far from slappin LSU around.

I prefer looking back at LSU and UF actually slappin around OSU for the BCS title. Or Bama putting it to PSU at the begining of the season.

I prefer to dwell on the numbers 8 & 5. 8 BCS bowl appearances, most in college football and 5 BCS bowl wins also most in college football(tied with Florida). Thanks and have a great night.

Those are some great accomplishments. I was working at a hotel a few years ago when LSU/OSU played for the BCSCG. I must say the OSU fan base was extremely friendly and very cordial. They all praised the LSU fans but said the UF fans were horrible.

I like the laid back atmosphere in the college football section. Its good to have a few regulars from different conferences.

It will be interesting to see how the BCS bids are given out at the end of the season. Do both Boise and TCU get bids? Personally I think they should over any one loss teams.

The Florida game was a fiasco for Ohio State but had we executed better in a few spots against LSU it could have been a different game. Regardless of that we lost and no matter what happens going forward we will never hear the end of it. Last year people said Oregon's modern offense would run us out of the building , and when we shut it down the comments were not congratulatory but rather Oregon was extremely over-rated. Oh well, whatever.
I'm officially a Boise hater, but I do think TCU has played enough of a schedule that they deserve a shot at a championship game over a one loss team, especially with the complete destruction of Utah yesterday.

Congrats to my LSU peeps. Well deserved. Bama just didn't have it this year. It's hard to repeat in the SEC West.
Being picked #1 preseason is a godawful cross to bear. Everybody has you in their crosshairs from day one - no letup - every game means everything for both sides, week in/week out. Brought back melancholy memories of last year's Gator season. I feel your pain and disappointment.

Yeah!!!! My boy Jopa reached another milestone!!!! Congrats on 400. Also, another record was beat yesterday by overcoming a 21 point deficit to win the game...Amazing!!!!
Just happened to have picked tix to the Northwestern game from my dad back in August with no clue that Joe would be playin for 400. The post game ceromonies were unbelievable. One of my best PSU memories ever. (BTW, not a "400" T-Shirt to be had postgame downtown).

So.....if Gators beat South Carolina in Gainesville next Saturday, Florida will be playing for the SEC Championship in December. And since they probably won't be playing Gator Killer Alabama, and have finally gotten their offensive sh*t together and star players healthy, they might even have a shot at winning the SEC :bigeyes2:

God, did I just say that????

That sounds about right in this crazy college football season. Good luck with that.

Ill be pulling for UGA this week to beat Auburn. I think Bama takes them in the Iron Bowl, in a close one. Its asking for a lot but with Miles, things just seem to often times fall into his lap. I hope this is another situation like '07. I guess its true, sometimes its better to be lucky than good.

LSU still has the big rivalry game against Arkansas. Which is always a tough game. Great way to spend the day after Thanksgiving! No matter what, winning out and LSU is pretty much assured a BCS birth.

If Miles/Crowton let the QBs go down the field I really like the potential of this team.
Geaux Tigers! Geaux LSU!!!

I give it to him, Meyer seems to have the UF O running in stride. They will be a dangerous team if they do make it to the SEC title game.

They moved the LSU/Arkansas game to a Saturday now instead of the Friday after Thanksgiving which is a plus in my opinion. It was a pain in the ass making the trip to watch a game in Baton Rouge the day after Thanksgiving.

I wish I could make that game. No place better than Tiger Stadium. Especially on a saturday night.

Great to see another LSU fan on board. A lot of SEC fans here, feels good. I also post a lot at a MMA forum which has a lot of college football fans. At that forum the Big Ten has the most fans.

Yeah I also like "Bama in the Iron Bowl. If Auburn loses last 2 games, and UF gets by SC this weekend in The Swamp, it would be a UF/LSU rematch in the SECCG. I think I'd rather play LSU again instead of Auburn as we had no reason to have lost that game to LSU the first time this year.

Of course if Auburn beats Georgia on Saturday Auburn is into the SECCG even if they lose to "Bama.

Bottom Line: Auburn and LSU are the only SEC teams who still have a shot to get to the NCG. "Bama and Gators (and Hogs) can only spoil the party.

Unless the SEC Champ is from the SEC East. If the SEC Champion is from the East (Florida or South Carolina) that champion would not be headed to an NCG and therefore (I think) would be headed to the Sugar instead. So, as the article stated, you need Auburn to win out (and go to NCG) for Hogs to get some Sugar.

To be honest I think its gonna be tough for Arkansas to make the Sugar Bowl even if they win out. Boise and TCU are more than likely both going to be going to BCS bowls. So thats two slots taken. Unfortunately the ACC and Big East get automatics eventhough neither conference deserves one. So thats two more slots. The best thing for Arkansas fans would be to hope that OSU loses to Iowa. I think OSU would get the nod over Arkansas because of name/prestige. The BCS is all about money.

I agree completely if my beloved Buckeyes win out they will most likely be in a BCS bowl again, not because they are a better football team but because they put butts in seats, hotel rooms, restaurants and shopping centers better than the majority of schools do. It is ultimately about the bottom line $.

The stars would definitely need to align and if the Hogs don't win out, there really is no discussion. Stranger things have happened, but if Auburn gets by Alabama, I don't see them losing. Here's to high expectations right?

Cam Newton, the athlete: Spectacular.
Cam Newton, the person: Utter douche.

I hope this cheating, thieving punk gets what's comin' to him. (And no... by that, I don't mean a multi-million dollar NFL contract.) If they give this clown the Heisman, it will be an embarrassment to college football.

In light of all this, I decided to order our resident Auburn fan a jersey too...

Wow, that's news to me. Everyone at UF knew about the laptop and figured that was the one and only reason Cam was shown the door although many thought Meyer was quick to pull the trigger. However in light of all this academic cheating it seems perfectly reasonable that UM had had enough aggravation. Makes more sense now.

The contrast of character between Tim Tebow and Cam Newton must have been overwhelming.

BTW, Newton's dad sounds like a real assh*le. Everything I read, from the above article where he lies "Cam transferred because Tebow was coming back", to the fact that he has "lawyered up" since the $200k story broke. I think that if there is fire in this smoke, it leads to Cecil Newton.

Yet, I am the "hater" who is obsessed w/ Alabama and the one who makes uneducated responses. :ok:... I'm just sitting here waiting for an actual FACT to come out. And, if your FACT is a 18 year old having speeding tickets 3 years ago, GET A LIFE. You ignorant moron. You've had players sell cocaine to cops, and a current player beat the $*#$ out of his girlfriend all within the past few years and you have the nerve to bring up SPEEDING TICKETS that a 18 year old received. You seriously make me sick.

Over the last few days, we've learned quite a bit about Auburn quarterback Cam Newton. First the news broke last week about the NCAA investigation into Newton's recruitment after he left Florida following an incident in which he stole a laptop, and now the news that Newton cheated while enrolled in Gainesville.

Dark secrets indeed, but they merely scratch the surface. I did some digging of my own, utilizing my many sources throughout the college football world and public school system of College Park, Georgia. What I uncovered during my investigation will chill you to the bone.

This is just some of what I learned.

- While in the second grade, Newton checked the book Where The Wild Things Are out from the College Park Public Library. He returned the book two weeks late, and refused to pay the 25 cents in late fees.

- While in the third grade, a classmate alleged that Newton stole his chocolate milk during lunch. Two other students saw him do it, but lunch room officials never found evidence of the stolen milk, and Newton did not serve any detention.

- In the fifth grade, Newton's class was told to make a diarama about a book they read. Newton had chosen The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and turned in a diarama of Huck and Tom Sawyer sailing down the Mississippi River. It was very well done, and while there was suspicion that his parents may have helped him, it was never proven. He received a B+.

- When Newton was 13 he stole a Snickers bar on a dare from some friends from the local convenience store. He was caught by the proprietor, who then called the police to teach Newton a lesson. The police then made Newton pay for the candy bar before taking him home to his parents. Newton was grounded for a week.

- Three years later, at the age of 16, Newton returned to the same convenience store to get some Gatorade. The total for his purchase was $1.26. Newton only had a quarter on him, and didn't want to break another dollar. Thankfully there was a "Take a penny, leave a penny" tray on the counter. Newton only needed one penny, but he took three.

These are just some of the stories I learned in my investigation. Clearly, Cam Newton is a monster that needs to be stopped. Hopefully somebody can stop him before he strikes again.

Auburn fans are just now realizing that Cameron Newton's **** is not, in fact, made of gold. It was merely painted gold as a deception. Once they finished blowing him, the moisture removed the gold paint. It was a sad day to realize how truly fooled there were.

I haven't seen fans blow someone harder since watching Herbstreit announce a Boise State game.

You can be added to the retard list. NOT ONE THING HAS BEEN PROVEN AGAINST NEWTON. The only people who look stupid right now is the media.

He was a 18 year old who made SMALL mistakes. He is now 21 and has shown how people grow up and turn into men. He is a role model and a great citizen to Auburn. I am proud to have him a part of our team.

Those are not small mistakes. There are definite character issues with Newton. He isnt proven guilty yet, but still there is a lot of smoke around him right now. Not to mention there are some definite negative transgressions under his belt. We just have to wait and see where this goes to say for sure.

The thing that I find ironic though is how all this stuff about him cheating at UF is coming out? Not to mention Miss St? Seems there is some sort of conspiracy here against him. Meyer and Mullen coached together at Utah and UF. I dont know about Mullen, but Meyer is cold blooded as can be. UF is my second favorite SEC school after LSU but Im not at all a fan of Meyer. I wouldnt doubt the least bit that he has had something to do with a lot of this leaking out since he is getting flack for QB play. Plus he is underhanded like that.

I say he is under handed because Patrick Peterson came down to LSU or UF. When Peterson chose LSU, like a child Meyer flagged his ACT scores. Because of that Peterson had to retake the ACT and couldnt start school early. Thats just uncalled for. I dont mind some negative recruiting about a school, I know some underhanded things are done by all coaches in recruiting. But this is taking it a step too far. Youre messing with a kids education because he didnt chose your school. So I wouldnt doubt Meyer having his hand in this.

Do you realize how much people mature between ages 18-21? Thats a HUGE maturity stage in peoples lives. I do agree with alot of the rest of the things you said though. Maybe Urban thinks he will be playing Auburn in the SEC Championship game and is trying to deter it in any means possible? I just think it's ridiculous that the media is beating up a COLLEGE athlete like this. He is still a kid and it's ridiculous that grown men are trying to destroy him without even having concrete facts. That Thayer guy from FoxSports should be fired IMO.

I agree they are kids. They are bound to make a mistake from time to time. Still in all, you have to draw a line. Even if the problems are smaller ones. Like I said, the best thing is to let everyone sift though the allegations. Im not at all judging him just yet. Saying there is a history of questionable character.

Yeah yeah we keep hearing Meyer "leaked" this stuff to the press. That would be awfully stupid in that anything about his UF transgressions would certainly seem to point back to Meyer. What's the upside for Meyer anyway?? To fire up Auburn prior to a possible UF-Auburn SEC Championship game??? Meyer may be "cold" as you assume but he certainly isn't stupid.

BTW, has anyone figured out that there are probably 100 or so students in the classes he got nailed cheating that have intimate knowledge of this subject and probably told 100's of friends?? How about the kid whose name he erased on that paper? Think he's a Cam Newton fan??? If you think all this would somehow remain some sort of "academic secret" at a college of 47,000 you're a fool.

Easy to blame Meyer, harder to think it through.

I also heard that Cam Newton was seen stealing a grape from a local grocery store..he said " he wasnt sure if they were seedless or not":food::food:

All of this crap about these thugz and their shenanigans at these piece of $hit SEC schools are making the NCAA look bad. Im proud to be a big10 fan.

Bucknuts!!!!!???????????

How about a good old fashioned big 10 upset this week. McGloin is starting at QB.

From what I've heard on Finebaum and other talk shows the media outlets would not be able to come out with this stuff by taking the word of "students". It'd have to be from the academic department or from someone such as Meyer.

All Im saying is there is some collaboration and some forethought. Or so it would seem in all of this. The info of him cheating has to be leaked, at least Id imagine from someone in the know from UF. That would be confidential info. Im not sure why Meyer would be involved. Just saying I wouldnt put it past him. He certainly isnt stupid. The only thing I could think of is people are questioning the QB situation there with the way the O has sputtered by UF standards. Its just funny how all of a sudden this is all coming out. Plus Meyer is under a ton of scrutiny for the Gator program. This coming out could save face for him. I have no idea. Ill just let everything play out. Just bringing up conversation and possible explanation

Im not sure what Meyer gains, but what did gain by flagging Peterson?

Sex Tape sought for ESPN Reporters Forde, Low, and Schlabach

During the height of ESPN writers, Pat Forde, Chris Low, and Mark Schlabach’s smearing of hearsay on ESPN.com, a man who said he once met the reporters allegedly was soliciting a six-figure payment to secure the property of the alleged Forde, Low, and Schlabach sex tape, Auburntron.com has learned.

Former beat writer for a high school paper that once read an article or two from the reporters above told Auburntron.com that a guy who once had coffee with a guy that watches espn and saw a co-worker of the ESPN writers contacted him soon after a certain “fluffing” went on before the tape was allegedly recorded during the filming of ESPNU’s “Experts”.

The following quotes were heard on the subway, “He said it would take cash or a cheeseburger for Low to release the tape”. “A representative of Schlabach denied the tape existed but later said that he was misquoted by Schlabach”. “Pat Forde will do anything to be Kirk Herbstreit, even if he has to make another tape with the entire Boise St. Football team.”

A homeless man said that the reporters, who repeatedly perform ugly and morally wrong acts in the media and bedroom, have made more than one tape and that there are a number of other tapes out their with certain head football coaches. One titled, “I Screwed Miami Bi***”, and “What’s hiding under my hat?”

When I dialed a phone number at complete random, I spoke with someone who informed Auburntron.com that sperm samples had been sent up to investigators and it determined that Chirs Low’s test results show that his sperm was actually glaze for a Krispy Kreme doughnut.

More to come on this story as I plan on going old school 1998 styles and get quotes and information from a AOL chat room.

This article is satire. Anyone that takes these allegations seriously needs to apply to be a writer for espn.com.

"One of the recruiters said Cecil Newton told him before Cam Newton committed to Auburn that it would take “more than a scholarship” for his son to attend Mississippi State. An unidentified source told ESPN that another recruiter received a phone call from an emotional Cam Newton after he committed to the Tigers, when he said his father selected Auburn for him because “the money was too much.”
