Holy ****, potential bomb threat in chicago

So I am staying at my girlfriends to visit for most this week and she lives near granville street in Chicago. On way home train was stopped and wouldn't move on for an "emergency" I get off and begin to walk (over one mile) as I get to her area the whole main street area is blocked off. Cops everywhere, locals staring....

The hospital I worked at in L.A. had a bomb threat once, I ended up spending pretty much the whole day stuck in a McDonald's a 1/2 mile away.

Just got back from gym. By the time I got back the area no longer was blocked off/no more cops. When I rechecked the story they updated it and said that there was nothing suspicious found in the case. I figured that would be the case, but still an crazy feeling living one block away and having the area on shutdown.

Intense. It's crazy how it's "just news" until it happens near home.

I was in Norfolk Va last fall and a neighborhood was shut down. Turns out the Navy rented a 15 pass van from Enterprise. Upon inspection after van was returned, an explosive was found and cops shut down the area. Turned out to be a fake practice explosive that was left in the van. Pretty funny but a huge headache trying to get around.

Yea thats basically what came out of it, extra annoying upon realizing there was nothing dangerous in the suitcase.
