Curcumin The herbal clenbuterol?

There's very, very little that is relevant about a study were the subjects are fed an insane dose. .5g/kg would be 50g for someone that is 220 lbs. Plus, clen is not anti-catabolic in humans.

No, but I'm pretty sure clenbuterol works as a anti cortisol and cortisol=bad for muscle

From the Journal of Current Medicinal Chemistry:

"It was proved that clenbuterol has no influence on growth hormone, prolaction, cortisol, or thyroid hormone concentrations, but it is possible that it may influence glucocorticoid actions by modulating glucocorticoid receptor activity."

Anytime that there is some extra FFA being burned, cortisol is going to go up. Its job is to look for sources of fuel.

Curcumin has been in my regimen for quite a while. I does make my joints feel better. I took it out for a few weeks after some reading I had done that suggested it interferes with recuperation in ways like NSAIDs do. You feel better but recover slower and get less from each exercise session.

Since then I have put it back in my line up but take the minimum amount. It works better for me than Glucosamine\Chondroitin\MSM concoctions.

It appears to absorb better with oils. I avoid piperine which is in many formulations.

Its a good thread, informative and very trendy antioxidant right now.

Nice to attach a bit of meat to the bones so to speak.

I have similar concerns about antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. I maintain eggs, with their pro-inflammatory fats, are some of the best postworkout meals. I have switched to megadosing fish oil/C/E on off days for joint health and inflammation...it seems to help quite a bit.

Bulk spices at my local grocery gives me a pound of tumeric for like 3 bucks. I just take a half TSP everyday.

I use bulk tumeric as well. 2 grams per day and I can feel the inflammation blunting effects via fewer allergies as well as better sleep.

Do you take it right before bed for sleep? Also do you notice it helps you fall asleep better or gives you a better sleep overall?
