M-Drol 10mg 3x/Week Log

I plan on pulsing M Drol either at 10 mg mwf or 20mg mwf. I will be doing a cut though, I will probably stil lift heavy 3 days a week, and everyday i will be doing the P90X programs.

Tagio, What do you think about doing cardio to further fat loss? Do you think the back pumps would be intense with such a low dose?

thanks man. from my 4 doses at 10mg, I feel like 10mg would definitely be enough to prevent muscle loss on a cut for someone who isn't huge beyond their natural potential. 20mg would be more aggressive and you might be able to gain some strength.

i think it's an awesome idea, i just don't like doing cardio in a gym and my appetite for losing weight ran out after about 5 weeks of cutting. My natural potential is probably around 205lbs at 10% bf (weightrainer dot net slash bodypred dot html) and i feel hungry all the time if i'm below 190 so i'm trying to get back up there in the next couple weeks without gaining too much bf (which is working nicely, up to 188 yesterday still around 12%). as for back pumps i haven't felt anything like that at all on this cycle. if you think about it I only take 10mg before my workout, which seems unlikely to bring about that kind of side effect.

thanks man! I was feeling good endurance, and doing the olympic lifting first got me pretty psyched for the rest of the workout. Wendler recommends 50 total reps per exercise for assistance exercises so i was in that general vicinity. the KB presses were very light. heavy DB overheads would have been too much IMO. the kb's work a lot of stabilizing muscles in my arms and shoulders, even obliques. some weird-ass small muscles in my upper and forearm are sore today from it so i guess it worked.

total workout time was about 2 hours, but I chatted with an olympic lifter and a trainer for about 15 minutes, and took 5 after cleans and benching to have 50g protein and a larabar (lol)

very glad to see people are following this. I thought there was a lot of potential for pulsing SD, but most of the info on it is buried in the huge pulsing thread and a lot of it is incomplete. So I hope this will add a bit to the anecdotal data on the board.
 
workout from the 11th is done, recorded and will be updated soon. next workout will take place on tuesday due to a schedule change at my job which has me working early mornings (also why i haven't updated already). will probably work out tues-thurs-fri this week.

all those sets of oly lifts killed me. the top weights were the highest i felt comfortable going without having to psych up or worry about injury. my conditioning isn't what it was back when i was oly lifting every workout but it will come back quick. I got a killer workout, mostly in my lower back and abs. traps got sore too. if you think about it that's a ****load of ass-to-ground squat reps (overhead and front) between all the warmups and worksets of olympic lifts.

big strength increase on pulldowns, i think the heavy DB rows and of course the M-drol are helping increase my upper body pulling ability.

i was frustrated ending the squats early but you can't have everything and it was an awesome workout overall.

minor shoulder pain, fixed it by making sure to keep elbows turned forward. this works in overhead squat too, wish i had known this years ago but it finally sunk in during this workout. jerks for reps are HARD, the negative hits the tricep pretty hard and they get the heart rate up really good.

very fun workout, wouldn't have minded a little arm work but ran out of time and i got all the real strength-building stuff in there.

in terms of the M-drol, it is definitely working. I'd say the gains are 60%cosmetic and 40% strength - i know i'd be gaining strength on this current routine (the 5-3-1 with olympic lifting is kicking ass), but not quite this fast. but I know for a fact i'd be putting on fat with my current diet (not junk, just a bit over maintenance) and i've only put on a bit - my weight is up to 189 but my bf is holding steady, about 1% higher than start of cycle. shoulders are looking round and full and it's not just a pump, they look just as good after 48 hours off as they do on 'on' days. forearms, triceps, traps, quads all looking good (basically all the muscles i can actually see without a mirror LOL). in clothes i'm showing a clearer taper, broader shoulders/traps/back compared to hips/legs.

estrogenic sides i.e. gyno irritation got pretty bad after the workout on the 11th, so on the 12th i took 25mg atd in the morning and 25mg in the evening. i did 25mg/day the following 2 days and have taken none since. i will take 25mg before bed tonight and on every off night for the rest of the cycle. after the first 2 doses nipple pain went away completely and nothing seems to be going on in that area. let me say again I had gyno BEFORE this cycle and am VERY prone to it. when i had gyno sides from havoc, it took 75mg atd/day to combat it and on this pulse, much less was necessary.

my sleep cycle is ****ed up from a schedule change at work but i have been lethargic as ****. i strongly doubt it's the m-drol though, waking up at 3am is probably the culprit.

no other sides. balls are fine, sex is normal, have all my hair etc.

the cycle is going very well. I MAY run an extra week depending how i feel, but then again maybe not. next time i do this, it will be 20mg the whole way thru, with atd 25mg on off nights starting in the first week.

tomorrow's workout is some sort of olympic lifting (TBD) with deadlifts as the main strength exercise.

hows your diet again?...high carb, maintenance cals, etc..?

approx. isocaloric, at *least* 180g protein/day (more on workout days), make sure to get in my fruits and veggies. i dont sweat it too much besides that but i don't eat sweets or processed crap most of the time. fish oil ED. when i don't count calories i tend to weigh around 190-194. my goal in the next year or so is to get to that weight at 10% bodyfat. my goal for this cycle is to end up around 190 with an acceptable level of leanness so i can maintain weight without worrying about diet and focus on strength and performance gains.

workout was snatches up to 70 kilos (powersnatched for several singles), drop snatches with 70 kilos, and deadlifts up to 410lbs for a single.

deadlift strength has been higher, i have pulled 455 before. so i'm ditching the 5-3-1 scheme. I've had better strength gains working up to a heavy single/double/triple than using the 5-3-1 template. i do like doing an upper/lower split however, and the assistance work has been very helpful.


Sunday September 20
did 30mg this day, 10 before breakfast, 10 pre, 10 post

Bench workout up to 195 for 2 sets of 3. strength gains are slow on bench as well, i think more work near my max would help similar to the deadlift.
kettlebell overheads and db overheads, 40lb db for a few sets of 8 before shoulder pain cut it short. joints starting to get achy and i'm not pushing it. my joints recover very quickly when i'm not messing with hormones so i have no doubt i'll bounce back 100% when i'm off the m-drol.

barbell rows and hang powercleans complex, 10 reps each as fast as possible with 95lbs, 3 sets
powercleans working up to a single, hit 245lbs.

these felt good, this is my old max and i pulled it despite not feeling 100%.

strength gains have been less than stellar and I blame my training for this. I guess any time you change up what you're doing you run this risk. My deadlift has regressed a bit but other lifts are up, just not as much as they could be. So I'll be using more of a westside approach from now on.

lethargy is kicking in and that combined with joint pain is making workouts a bit of a chore.

but the m-drol is working for sure. I'm getting bigger without getting fatter which is awesome. upper body looks noticeably more dense and muscular than it did 3 weeks ago, especially the delts, traps/upper back, and forearms (which makes sense given my training).

30mg was a bit much, after the workout i felt kinda high blood pressurey and tired and gains have been nice off of 20mg so i'll do 20 for the remaining doses.

we're getting close to the end of this cycle and so far it's been the best one i've run so far. i'll save the summary for when it's actually over but my progress from a bodybuilding point of view has been much better than what would be possible naturally in this timeframe, with sides being present but very manageable.
 
How much is your weight up now, also just wondering if you are running any support supplements for bp, cholest. and ect.

my weight has gone from 185 at the start of the pulse, to around 191 right now. i've been purposely keeping it from going too high to avoid fat gain. I don't see much weight gain effect from ph/ds in my experience, that weight gain makes complete sense given what i've been eating and i didn't put on any weight on epi or h-drol except from purposely eating more to try and take advantage of the nutrient partitioning. i could easily weigh 210lbs within a few months just by eating if i chose to, i'm naturally a big eater and was very overweight in my adolescence.

i'm not running any support supps unless you count fish oil. I don't think it's necessary. But I will get a physical and ask for bloodwork after i feel recovered from this cycle, since i haven't had a physical in a few years and have never had hormone levels checked that i'm aware of. I feel great but it can't hurt to get an exam, basically to see if i'm in the clear to run more ph/ds or if i need to give it a rest.

some of them *haven't* gone up appreciably. i've been doing 5-3-1 for a few months now and haven't maxed out (as the program advises). but recently i've tested some lifts and they've actually regressed, especially deadlifts, from an old max of 455 to only 405 last week. So my training will be changing back to a westside/oly lifting approach of working up to a training max/heavy double/heavy triple on main lifts.

some lifts have gone up though:
cable pulldowns 180x8, 240x1->260x1, 240x2, 220x5, several sets of 220x3. overall i put about 20lbs or more on this lift in the last month.

db rows went from 70lbs for hard sets pre-cycle 70 being too light, using 80 now +10lbs

grip strength increased so i can shrug 105lb dbs without the left giving out (traps can handle more but the grip training is valuable in its own right). before cycle 90lbs was the limit for grip.

bench is probably up but I haven't maxed out lately.

i wouldn't call the strength gains impressive but as i said I did an experiment with 5-3-1 and it didn't work for me - i need more work with 85% 1RM or heavier weights to gain strength and a low-dose cycle of orals isn't going to change that.

muscle gains have been very good though.

30mg again (lol)

worked up to 80 kilos (176lbs) for 4 singles
was able to do this with very little joint pain. took lots of sets on the way up to get form down and get some volume on the squats and jerks. jerks feeling more solid. spinal erectors still a bit sore from deadlifts/powercleans.

front squats: started at 80 kilos and worked up to 130 kilos (286lbs) for a single. i've done 335 in the past but this was as much as i felt comfortable with today.

this is how i'll be working on my upper body compounds from now on - working closer to my max till fatigue sets in, then a few back off sets for volume. this method worked great for me in the past, only assitance work was missing.

ended the workout there, been feeling a bit burned out (transitioning from 5-3-1 to olympic lifting every workout) and didn't want to push it. despite no PRs this was a productive workout.

this training cycle has taught me a lot despite a lack of progress on my big lifts. first of all i've gained a lot of strength in my upper body to support heavy cleans, jerks, deadlifts. in the past my lack of assistance work left my grip, delts and tris inadequate for the demands of heavy clean and jerks.

but more importantly i've got renewed focus on what to work on with my future training. my conditioning sucks right now so oly lifting complexes will be added in after this cycle when bp/lethargy aren't concerns. my obliques are strong but my rectus abdominals are weak so ab work will be done every workout. and heavy near-max sets and high frequency are a must for me to keep gaining strength.

m-drol is working. I weighed in at 194 today PWO so i've gained about 10 lbs in a month, i'd say 7-8 muscle and 2-3 fat. much better than if i'd tried gaining 2.5lbs/week with food alone, those gains would have been 8lbs fat, 2lbs muscle. a bit of that may be glycogen etc. but ending around 190-195 is fine since the bodyfat is holding steady. that weight will be easy to maintain until I run another anabolic, however long a break i decide to take. With more conditioning and frequency in my training i hope to learn out slowly in the coming months and I'm still well below my natural potential in terms of muscularity and strength so i expect further if slower gains. So my next cycle may be an intentional bulk into the 200s (followed by a slow cut since i do not naturally eat enough calories to maintain that weight). time will tell.

25mg atd on off days has completely eliminated gyno irritation so my only side is lethargy and feeling kinda high-blood pressure on 'on' days. balls are normal and i don't feel any signs of shutdown. So i will extend this a week for a total of 15 doses (today being number 11). dose will be 20 or 30mg depending if i have to work or not. I doubt i will gain much more weight so i hope to harden up a bit at the same bodyweight during the last week and a half.

Friday the 25th was an off day from the gym, with 20mg m-drol taken. i was planning on taking a week layoff from the gym but it won't be necessary, i feel ready to go again and will hit up the gym today (27th) to get into the new training program. This is the 5th and final week of the cycle. gains have slowed at this point for whatever reason (lethargy/joint pain affecting the training perhaps) and back pumps have set in, but overall supression and sides are still quite low. I've been going rollerblading around my neighborhood in brookyln for about an hour at a time for exercise and will be adding complexes to my training to work on aerobic and anaerobic conditioning.

Especially when something like cycle support is so inexpensive and you just add to your shake etc. Your blood pressure feeling is your 1st clue that you do need them. SD is not a vitamin. It's a POWERFULL drug\chemical that you are ingesting and just because it's a low dose pulse doesn't mean the sides are not there. Shutdown is least of your worries from this. It's what other damage is going on inside that you should be concerned about.

good points. I feel like running intense liver support during cycle cuts into gains by reversing some of the anabolic conditions created by the DS, but this late in the cycle the effects would be pretty minimal. i actually have 2/3rds of a tub of cycle support which i was gonna run PCT to return to baseline faster, but I'll run a scoop a night for the rest of this cycle to get started.

So you still planning on not going through with a PCT?

since i upped the dosage to 20 with a few days at 30, some sort of pct will be needed i guess. i'm planning on just doing ATD for a few weeks, but i have nolva and pct assist if i feel i need them.

based on previous cycles, i am less shut down right now than i was after 3 weeks of havoc ED (20/30/30) which screwed with my estrogen but didn't seem to actually shut down natural production, since i kept making gains, had no testicular atrophy and libido was fine. same here, except with much weaker estrogenic sides and more sides while 'on' (during the half life of the compounds) from taking a stronger oral.
 
lethargy today is terrible. ending cycle. 13 total doses, just over 4 weeks. will keep updated during recovery and post a summary once i'm feeling a bit more chipper. overall a very positive experience and i learned a lot about how i respond to this compound.. right now i just want to hibernate however.

Thanks man, you can even see it in this log, how my updates got later and later and then i just stopped working out a few days ago. anything that makes me not want to work out is some potent ****, working out is really fun for me and something i do very consistently. I actually haven't gotten much of anything done in the last 2 weeks except stumble into work and hang out with my girlfriend and play videogames. looking forward to returning to my normal slightly manic energy level.

only way to learn is to take the stuff though. i'm healthy and have access to good medical care and have been underwhelmed by other ph/ds products so i pushed the envelope a bit on this one and i don't regret it. assuming i hold on to what i gained, which i feel optimistic about, the cycle was very productive.

I don't feel shut down in the least, i think it was the effects of the SD itself that were giving me trouble, not shutdown or anything more long-lasting. aggression in the gym was above average (time off helped no doubt), libido is good etc. hopefully everything stays good.

i dont have a full length mirror at my apt. so i got a good look at myself in the gym today for the first time in about a week, and the effects of this cycle are pretty obvious. i'm thicker all over, generally just look a lot more like i lift weights than i did a month ago.

i'll refrain from waxing poetic tonight, and get in a few more workouts before i type up a retrospective/summary. just wanted to report that after feeling pretty crappy, i've bounced back in just a few days.

also i actually have grown to LIKE the red yeast rice chocolate flavor cycle support. i drink it only slightly watered down as a shot, it gives me strange emotions but i like it.

atd at 25mg/day, no estro sides for a week or two now which i'm very pleased about.

Conclusions

well today is 6 days after the last dose and I feel I can comment on the overall cycle at this point.

Pulsing

Pulsing is awesome IMO. I have run 3 straight cycles, 2 of which were aborted early due to strong estrogenic sides (havoc both times). The pulse was MUCH easier on my natural hormones. For me estrogen sides come as I start to get shut down (and i'm sure they would subside if I got FULLY shut down) and I only got a hint of them on this cycle, easily controlled, with none in PCT. My libido is completely normal, I have very minor acne (i have sensitive/pale skin and this is normal for me), my workouts are great. basically I feel there was essentially no shutdown from this cycle.

I plan to pulse anything stronger than halo clones in the future. my next cycle will probably be m14-e pulsed for 6 weeks at 2 pills 3x/week.

M-drol

I can say for sure that batch 52987 JUN2012 contains a powerful anabolic substance. I never used the original SD or any other clone so I can't compare it. But I experienced faster muscle growth than I've ever experienced naturally along with sides like lethargy and "back pumps" (stupid term for it IMO) at 20 and especially 30mg doses. I also had some minor breakouts earlier in cycle at 10mg doses.

Lethargy was the worst aspect of this cycle. I will not run it above 10mg again without some method of combating lethargy other than stimulants which I feel it would be unwise to dose high on cycle. anyone with experience with DHEA? thinking that may be a good option. Also thinking of doing 20-30 phera (pre workout) with 10mg SD post for a future pulse. will also take the SD post-workout only.. it helped for my first few workouts but after that lethargy took over.

Strength

the lethargy made me actually feel weaker toward the end of the pulse. It felt a lot like when I overtrain with too many heavy lifts when lifting naturally. But strength increases across the board are becoming apparent in PCT, they were just masked by the lethargy I was feeling. Joints also got creaky but they are back to 100% less than a week after the last dose.

Muscle Growth

This compound is excellent. I took 24 pills in this cycle and I gained muscle all over. I was gaining weight rebounding from a cutting diet (never seem to have much luck going below 185) and it would have been all fat but 24 pills of SD let me gain 10lbs with only a minor increase in BF in 4 weeks. As a former fatty I can tell you that is NOT happening naturally in that time frame for me.

Overall this was an excellent cycle. My initial plan of running it 10mg 3x/week would be a good idea for someone who's at their ideal bodyweight and wants to recomp or preserve muscle on a cut but that wasn't the situation I was in.. It could be run longer than 4 weeks IMO. 20mg 3x/week is more aggressive like an actual cycle. 30 made me lethargic and I didn't notice better gains than 20 to be honest.. but at only 2 30mg doses I'm no expert.

I'm gonna have my brother record me doing some powerclean + jerks when i get home in the next week or two and i'll put it on youtube so you guys can get some idea what level of muscularity/bodyfat/athletic performance I'm at.

I am probably gonna pulse mdrol to kickstart my next cycle, your log has given me quite the bit of info, and I feel much more confident about my decision now.

After running Mdrol straight and seeing my results in three weeks, then you running it on a pulse for 4, I can say that a pulse is probably the smartest way to go.
 
I have p-plex and m-drol. What about pulsing them together to combat the lethargy. Something like M/W/F 10 mg of m-drol & 15 mg p-plex pre workout

Hey man by any chance did you mis-type this and mean batch 52897 JUN2012? I only ask bc that's the batch I have and it would be nice to know its not bogus.

yup.. my bad. you typed it correctly and it's the same batch i have.
