ALCAR and R-ALA

Are these supplements more effective when taken together at the same time? Also, when is best time to take?

Both are good but does need to be taken at the same time, however R-ALA has shown to increase the effectiveness of ALCAR. The dosages of ALCAR and R-ALA:
R-ALA 500mg
ALCAR 1g

That's a whole lot of RALA. I'd say 300mg tops.

LOL, yeah 250 may be the way to start off, but for me 500 is the sweet spot, should start off with 250.
