What is your take on the metric system?

Personally I think the metric system is better, because it is logical and everything is divided into 10s. The standard system...not so much. For example 1 meter is equal to 100 centimeters, 1,000 millimeters, 10 decimeters, .001 kilometers. Now lets look at the standard system. 1 miles is equal to 5,280 feet, 1,760 yards, 63,360 inches. I just don't get why some people think the standard system is better. It's very frustrating to use. I just was curious to hear peoples take on what they think about using metric, instead of standard. There are only about three countries, that don't use metric. No one wants to convert, even though metric is a lot easier to learn than standard. BTW it's 5:11am in the morning and I can't sleep and am bored, which is the reason behind this post.

I find the metric system much more effective. But you expect peopel to do teh smart thing today? :laugh2: RIIIGHT

Oddly enough, being from Canada, I still use the Standard System when referencing certain things: height, weight, speed and length are very common Standard System references, even in metric-using countries. That being said, the Metric System is phenomenally easier when doing mathematics in particular.
