Fantasy Baseball 2009

I've got both Billingsley and Nolasco.

Chipper went deep! Overall not a bad night from Ricky. I sat Kazmir tonight and he is shutting the yanks down :damnit:

Well, maybe Billingsley will get bounced from rain and only start once this week? :dunno:

Chip did go deep... Unfortunately, Bully f*cking Butler is murdering me this week. Talk about someone reaching...

Need Cano to finish strong. 2HR.

I always get f*cked by the worst people. Last week Jason Kubel nearly ran me out...this week Tim Lincecum. :damnit:

Well, dude... you should expect to get f*cked by Lincecum.

I can understand Kaz and Kubel - that's just BS. Or that career week by Konerko.... 60 some odd points all over my balls.

:toofunny:

Lincecum is an absolute beast. I can't believe how good he is. I had him the first year he came up...I can never reach for SP in the draft. I rather draft hitters.

Might have to change that strategy.

I still wont change.... To many top pitchers go down for the count... Webb, Volq... just doesn't make sense. I really work on scouting young guys that will have breakout seasons... Over the years I've picked up guys like Lincecum, Volq, Hanson - or injury waivers like Hudson, Carp...

Yea I know what you mean. I usually scout hitters for my bench...tend to get the pitching prospects too. I've never come below 3rd in the last 8 year so I must be doing something right.

I scout hitters too for sure... Never got one of the crazies - like I waived Zobrist this year... Missed Pence his rookie season... and Braun... but I've had some decent ones.

What the f*ck is Buehrle on?

I know dude I was just going to post something. WTF.

He's coming out for the 6th... Dye just smacked a dinger to put him up one (opponent has him too of course)...

I'm routing for him. That would be one if the biggest achievements in the history of sports.

aaaaaaaaaaaaand it's over...:clap2: that's some pitching.

Expected line tonight on Tillman? I'm thinking Hanson type numbers: 5.1 IP, 7 hits, 4 ER, 3 BB 3k's.

I hope he performs well... He's a double start candidate for me next week.

I'm going to be a bit more aggressive - it is the freakin Royals afterall...

105 PC, 6.0 IP, 8 hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6K

Kendry Morales was on waivers (WTF???) so I scooped him up to play 1B now that the Big Puma is on the DL. Paying dividends already. Suckers...

I like the 10 man format. 8 is too small, too many high performing guys on waivers. 12+ is getting a bit big, talent pool gets pretty thin. Actually, 12 wouldn't be too bad, would be fun actually. More than 12 might suck though.

The commish is committed to keeping it at 10 though. We've had the same core group of guys for 4-5 years now. Keepers, etc.

Keepers would be fun. We have 16, which I think is pretty awesome... More hunting involved.

Eh, I suppose it'd all be fun. Love me some fantasy baseball, would probably enjoy it no matter how many teams were in my league.

Keepers definitely make it interesting. This is the 1st or 2nd year we've done it. For our league, you can keep 1 batter and 1 pitcher, but they must have been drafted in the 10th round or later, and stayed on your roster for the entire season. Then, the next year, they move up 3 rounds in your draft.

My examples from this year:

Drafted Matt Kemp in 18th round last year, this year he became my 15th round pick
Drafted Joakim Soria in the 15th round last year, this year he became my 12th round pick

Interesting... So you actually have to reach and draft for prospects. Do you have minor league reserve spots?

No minor league reserve spots. I tried to draft Stasburg in the last round this year, but ESPN didn't have him listed. Think I'll be keeping Kemp as my 12th rounder next year? Hell f*ckin yeah! Steal in the 12th.

What service do you use?

Almost all the services allow you to draft unlisted players if you just write it in... I drafted Nancy Kerrigan in 2008.

ESPN.com. We did the online draft cuz there's people in the league from different areas of the country.

Yeah, ESPN for sure. I'm not sure if you can, but the Commish can definitely write in candidates that aren't listed into the computer - then link it to the appropriate player when it is listed.

Deadlift day fellas. Holla at ya'll later.

Wish I could watch this Baltimore game... but he looks decent thus far. 5 hits, but three of them dingers... coincidently 3ER... so he's making some small mistakes.

74PC through 4 - he'll probably just throw 5 IN... a QS in his first start will at least guaruntee he'll be around next week. Would have liked to see more Ks - I'll be nervous giving him the nod next week.

Haven't had a chance to check him out today, but think of along the lines of Hanson. His line looks solid thusfar.

How about Verlander this year? Guy is a K machine...Someone released him in April and I could have gotten him off of waivers...F*ck me.

I've been hearing comparisons to Lincecum from scouting reports.
