Fantasy Baseball 2009

I feared this....the moment I rejected Konerko for Kemp (I would recieve Konerko) He goes bonkers...

Also have another guy in my league interested in Prado.. may deal him for Pence, Cuddyer, or Ludwick.... My preference is Cuddyer, Pence, then Ludz.

I'd rank Pence ahead of Cuddy. Cuddy has a history of hand problems, mainly his ligaments. His DL trip earlier doesn't bode too well and he is hitting paltry upon his return.

Pence is solid. 20-25 HR guy with the same potential SB WISE, middle of the lineup hitter. Houston has enough hitter to give him 85-95 runs a year.

Only reason I ranked Cuddy higher - is because I already have Lee.

You got the rankings right. With you having Lee I might bump Ludz up if I went with High Risk High Reward. Look at last year and this year...before the injury.

Interesting... Yeah, Lud just seems so damn inconsistent.

I'll take any of them. Prado is just a utility player for me.

ALot of the time this year I have gone the high risk option.

See McCutchen, Adam Lind, Ricky Nolasco.......

.............Dropping Corey Hart, Garrett Atkins, Joba CHamberlain

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Surprise! Dempster heads to DL: Ryan Dempster, a 17-game winner last season for the Cubs, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday due to a broken right toe. Dempster was scratched from his start Tuesday night against the Atlanta Braves and replaced by Carlos Zambrano. The Cubs recalled right-hander Kevin Hart from Triple-A Iowa, one day after he hed been optioned back to the minors. Dempster made the switch back to starter last season after being the Cubs closer for three years. He went 17-6 with a 2.96 ERA in 33 starts and was picked for the All-Star team in 2008.
(Updated 07/07/2009).
Injury Report
Toe - 15-day DL. Out until at least early August
(Updated - 7/7/09)

Yeah dude... I think his season is probably over. Big toes are critical for baseball players. May come back late, but wont be as effective until next year, IMO.

Even still, he shouldn't have been out there. He's owned in like 92% of leagues and I bet that's set to rise after tonight's mashing.

Now, to find someone to replace Dempster...... Now that I've got Konerko and Aramis Ramirez is off the DL, I've got some leverage to try and acquire an arm.

I need to be in your league...

Konerko on the waivers....

What happened to this b*tch?!?!

Ok, this week:

Carpenter - 1 Start
Hanson - 2 Starts
Erv Santana - 2 Starts

Question...

Mitre and Jason Schmidt are both available on waivers with 2 starts... Start over Carpenter?

Also, is it worth benching Uggla this week?

What's good...I just got into town the other day. Outta that hell hole.

I'd problaby ride Mitre over Carp for the sheer fact of the Yankee offense. I'm still not touching Erv.

Erv blew up for me this past week. 8IP only 3H.

Yeah, I'd ride the 2-start guys, always a good rule of thumb. If Carp is starting against a pitcher who's average or worse, he's always a good start.

Good to see you're back PR.

Carp is at Houston vs. Oswalt...

I just fear that Mitre is going to get Tomato canned vs. Baltimore... 3.2 INN 8ER etc...

I feel like the Erv is going to recapture old form.

Uggz would be sat and the lineup retooled for the inclusion of Gordon B... 8 games this week.

Also picked up Garret Jones to sub in for Torii on the DL. Hit two dingers for me last week. Looking to play him this week over Nolan Reimold - who appears to be getting lukewarm again.

Prado is red hot. I'd lean toward him, but also have a look at how many games they each play this week and against who, etc.

I'm saying Prado. Even though he's got less games this week, he hits for a higher average and with more power. Plus he won't be facing the tough DET rotation. Obviously Lincecum and Cain are siiick, but I'd still lean toward Prado.

....although I'm probably biased from watching him go 5-for-19 against the Mets this weekend.

All good points... my only other piece of information is that I would be starting McLouth, Prado, AND Chipper...
