Fantasy Baseball 2009

Kinsler snapped an 0-for-24 slump with a two-run homer in the seventh inning of Monday's loss to the Angels.

Spin: Kinsler's batting average has dropped to .253, nearly 20 points lower than it was just 10 days ago. Still, it doesn't appear that manager Ron Washington wants to give him a day off anytime soon. "It's hard to take Kins out for the teams we've been playing," Washington said. "I mean, how can you tell Kins: 'I'm going to sit you against Anaheim?' or 'I'm going to sit you against Tampa Bay?' I wasn't going to do that. He's got seven days left, and he's going to learn how to grind."
Tue, Jul 7

Nice, maybe he's gonna snap out of it. Brand new week too. Fresh start for my squad.

Romero got the win over the Spankees yesterday too. He's awesome.

Torii Hunter. Who would have thought.

I always draft him (never too early) cuz I like him, think he's a solid dude. I actually was thinking of rolling without him this year, but then I read this article about the crazy diet and workout routine he's been doing to stay on top of his game and figured "eff it...why not" and drafted him again. :07:

:clap2:

I usually try to draft a player or two that I like but it never works out.

What do you think of Hanson and Uggla for Kinsler?

Personally, I don't think that hinges on anything. It's 2B for 2B with a SP thrown in to sweeten the pot. If you can get Kinsler for that, definitely do it. I think he's the 2nd highest scoring batter after Pujols.

EDIT: Prince Fielder and Justin Morneau have jumped ahead of Kinsler, he's 4th now.

Damn...that is unfortunate. Who else ya got?

Carpenter (solid), Dice (ouch), Volq (ouch), Tim Hudson (just snagged, but DL), J Zimm (ehh), Sadowski (picked up today), Hammel (droppable), Erv (wtf), Brox (closer)

I traded away quite a few pitchers over the course of the year to get guys like Hunter and Fielder...

Considering it's a 16 man league, I'd say you're doing OK. Gotta think guys like Volquez, Ervin and Dice will come around sooner or later.

Sometimes when I have a pitcher as sucky as DIce I change pitchers every week or 2 weeks. I look for W and K potential against week opponents because my other pitchers can even my ERA and WHIP.

This is straight head to head points... No ERA or WHIP implications.

So... Innings Pitched, Ks, Wins are +

Walks, Runs, Losses are NEGZZZZ.

I play in both types of leagues currently. Enjoy the head-to-head way more than the roto/category type.

Anyhoo, one way to use MrBigPR's method in your H2H league would be to look at those FA pitchers available and click the "schedule" button to see who has 2 starts this week. If you don't have reliable guys.....if you don't mind dropping/adding a few pitchers each week, that may be a good way to get the most outta your staff.

You guys ever play in an AL or NL only league?

That was pretty fun. 12 teams, so the draft meant everything. Sucks when guys get injured because the FA pool is freakin thin with.

It's laughable the pitchers you end up picking up in the 2nd half of the year.

Yea I've done one of each. I remember getting Tex off the waiver with my 1st priority I saved all first half.

It's awesome because you get any players coming in, but lose all going out :sad2:

You knobs should hop in the Clean Thread for non-fantasy baseball banter.

We're always shooting the sh!t in there. Kind of our little corner where we blow off steam, BS, etc.

Damn, I gotta choose betweek Pablo Sandoval and Chris Ianetta for tonight. Ianetta is playing at home, Sandoval has been hot.

THoughts?

Edit: Ianetta is playing in the thin coors air.

Sorry, guess I'm too late... But I was going to say Sandoval. Giants have been straight unconscious as of late.
