Fantasy Baseball 2009

Is his suspension up? Gonna be rough after his TJ surgery too. Takes some time. I smell a trade

Pretty sure. He's been pitching in AAA.

Picked up Tim Hudson off waivers too... Couple weeks till he returns, but that guy has always had so much damn poise.

I think the Yanks may make a surprise signing or trade. Maybe pick up Freddy Garcia or Pedro.

I've got some roster spots opening up, got Reyes coming back too :hump:

That would be interesting. Pedro I'm not so sure though... I think his arm is gone. 87 to 89 mph fastball is batting practice in the bigzzzz..

There's always Aroldis Chapman... his ass defected the other day.

Bout to go crank out a chest workout. I'll holla.

Mets spoiled (another) stellar effort by Johan, but "I Just Got Back From Red Lobster" (my fantasy team) is still ahead 253-248 with Kinsler and Bartlett yet to go. Looks like I'll be picking up a much-needed W this week.

Gotta build on this...my team has been awful all year.

Who you got on your squad?

Mets are something else man, guess you can't expect much with their AAA team out there. Seems like Johan always gets the short end of the stick.

Won't bore ya with who I drafted, drops/adds, etc, but here's my roster as it stands now:

C AJ Pierzinski
1B Lance Berkman
2B Ian Kinsler
3B Pablo Sandoval
SS Jason Bartlett
OF Bobby Abreu
OF Torii Hunter
OF Matt Kemp
UTIL Russell Braynan
BE Jerry Hairston Jr.
BE Carlos Beltran
DL Aramis Ramirez

SP Johan Santana
SP Tim Wakefield
SP Ervin Santana
SP Rick Porcello
SP Bronson Arroyo
SP Scott Kazmir
SP Jarrod Washburn
SP Edinson Volquez
SP Ryan Dempster
RP Joe Nathan
RP Joakim Soria

My keepers from '08 were Kemp and Soria. I drop/add a couple of the low-end guys per week.

You could try and package a SP or 2 for another closer.

Lineup isn't bad, I've got some free time on my hand recently so I've been streaming pitchers. Beltran's news doesn't sound too good :scared:

Commish jerked with the settings this year, making closers almost insignificant, which is why I only carry 2 of them.

I actually just traded Nate McLouth for Carlos Beltran. I figured "eff it" I'm in last and I need to take a gamble. My buddy offered the trade and I waited till Beltran got his 2nd opinion and then accepted it when it came out that he wouldn't need surgery.

News on Carlos aint too bad, should be back right after the break:

I'm looking to deal McLouth in my league. I got him, but cheap (Happ and Scherzer)...

I also have Volquez and f*ckin Erv Santana... Its been a 13 week ****tease with those bastards.

Word...tell me about it! Between them, Kazmir and then Johan getting ZERO run support ever, it's been one frustration after another for my pitching staff. :damnit:

What do you guys think about Prado over Uggla this week?

Also, was thinking of keeping my starting rotation as is... Carpenter, West (2), and Hanson... Could sub in Jason Hammel (2), Jordan Zimm (2), or Erv. Thoughts?

Carpenter is back, Hanson has the confidence as well as his command and Zimmerman has delivered 5 straight QS while surrounding 2 ER or less while maintaining an 11.66 k/9.

I like it.

As far as the Prado thing goes... I can start Uggs and Prado at the same time... because Fox will get benched since A-Ram is due back Monday.

Now just have to think whether or not it makes sense to bench Uggz in favor of Prado, and slot Beckham in at DH...

F*cking Fantasy.... :damnit:

The only reason you want Uggs is for power; that's the only reason I've ever drafted him. Hitting .220 you either get some doubles, a single and or some HR's. You start Prado for AVG, Runs and everything else is a bonus. Shoulder injuries are tough; follow his rehab assignment to see how his bat is catching up and how the timing is. Could take 2-3 weeks to get back into the full swing of things.

I'd rock with Beckham until he slows down...no signs so far.

Just got offered Bannister and Lowe for McLouth... eh, I don't think so.

He has Vasquez though, and McCutcheon... and Kinsler... hmm..

Bannister=Tomato Can

Javy Vaz has been money this year...Anchoring my pitching staff for the most part. Sorry run support though. Cutch is studly. Kinsler is streaky.

Sabathia. If your league has WHIP. Good ERA in the 3's, low whip, share of K's. Burnett is an accident waiting to happen.

Going in another direction now... Trying to divest some ATL. Have an offer out for Ryan Braun... I'd give up Beckham and McLouth.

Yeah, if you have the option, take Sabathia.

I just dropped Jerry Hairston for Casey Blake and Bronson Arroyo for Scott Feldman.

5-8, out of last place, moving up in the world! :01:

Easy call on Braun.

Edit: Make that 2nd
Nice to see you out of the basement. I just went from 4th to 3rd :D

My offer got rejected with the following:

"HHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

:toofunny: I thought he proposed that for you. You have to remember in fantasy it's about making your team better, not neccesarily having the "best" players. Sometimes we get too greedy. You have to give something to get something

Kinsler, Sandoval and Branyan all went yard tonight, but that's not the best part...

Jarrod F*CKING Washburn threw me a complete game one-hitter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Straight money. When you get a nice contribution from a tomato can like Washburn, you know you're in for a good week.

I like it. Who's covering 3rd on your squad?

Nice timing in dealing A-Ram. Kinda wish he would go back on the DL so Fox can play ball.

i have no idea about anything when it comes to fantasy sports and stuff, but all i know is that the Phillies smashed the Mets BICH!!!
