What are the advantages to running say 10mg nolva every day while on cycle versus just doin 40/40/20/20 for pct? Is it a waste of nolva to run it during cycle? I'm about to start a 10 week test cyp cycle at 400mg a week with 5 weeks of dbol 30mg kickstart.

It's not a waste during cycle if you need it to protect from gyno (will also improve lipids). You can also run an AI during cycle and save the Nolva for PCT.

but remember that estrogen is anabolic as well so running nolva during cycle if you dont need it is going to stiffle some of your gains

Nolva binds to estrogen, doesn't lower it. Take that and chew it.

Truth. Nolva is best when wanting to negate the negative effects of estro without actually lowering it.
