Double Trouble Training Log - CT's prep for twin boys!


Thanks man. It was really all that just a mask though. In a normal world that weekend would have been a really fantastic time and I would have been overly thankful to have it...but I have been facing some personal demons lately that I truly just can't shake. Things WILL get better...I know that for certain...i'm just in a tough spell at the moment.
 
no update today. took the day off completely, ate ice cream, drinking goose. Its been a really tough day.

I will bounce back tomorrow....i'm done with this doing bad nonsense.
 
Things have not been good on this front lately. I am trying not to have these issues...but I cant even help it.

Worst part is I ate for CRAP today, but I bet I was still UNDER on cals.

Although I can't say that I know what you're going through for certain, I've definitely faced some severely bouts of depression in my time. The one thing that always kept me from going over the edge (whatever that may be) was training. Lifting weights has pretty much been my only outlet since I was 16, and I really don't where I would be if I wasn't able to release my stress/negativity/etc out on the weights. During those bouts, diet has really been the least of my concerns, but the problem with that is although eating junk or drinking booze may provide instant gratification, I've always felt regret and remorse afterwards which only contributed to the spiral. Even now, I just had to take a job that I'm none to happy about just so that I could pay the bills so I'm not in the best of moods, but I keep forcing myself to go to the gym because I know that I need the stress relief. Keep your head up and get those workouts in, who knows, maybe the endorphin rush will make things seem clearer or at very least put you in a better mood.

yesterday was a really tough day but I ate clean and I played 2 hours of tennis and it helped.

Day 67

Summary
Well hopefully the computer doesnt decide to shut itself off again so I can actually get a normal update in this time!! Today was a good day "physically". My head still isn't in the right place, but I played 2 hours of tennis and did some yoga and some Rx stuff, and then sat in a hot tub for a bit.

I also ate very well and I have decided that I am going to focus on that "arena" as much as possible. Mainly I only want to eat natural carbs unless on cheat days (ie - fruits, veggies, milk). Im done with bread with most meals and such...its just a waste.

Day 68

Summary
Today was a good KB workout day and a rough day otherwise. I got my "compensation" today, and I spent literally all but $80 on the bills I needed to get paid (as well as the speeding ticket I managed to get the other day) and now thats what I have to work with for the next 2 weeks. With the boys being here at the LATEST 2 weeks from today....that puts me in a big bind.

With that said, I am going to be buying a great deal of cheaper food options for the house so that I can still eat semi healthy for the next few weeks. Eggs, Milk, and chopmeat are definitely on the list....what a mess. I had dinner out today because my buddy offered to take me out to eat because he knew my situation right now is rough. Therefore...my nutrition wasn't 100% on point today.

Also, I tried to perform Turkish getup's with the 24kg kettlebell today and found out that it wasn't happening. NOW...that is a new goal for me :)

I have faith that some how, some way everything will work out for you papa deuce. You just have to keep your head up bud. Things are still rough for me to. Granted...I feel for you in your situation more than my own and by all means I wish you all the best for you, and for your family. If there is one thing that can always help keep you motivated and keep you strong...keep the phrase "through adversity there is redemption" in your mind because I don't think there is anything more true in life.

Summary
I ended up doing a lot of chores today, writing to my little (half)brother who is currently in juvenille detention, hitting some tennis, and shooting some hockey. I went up to my buddies place to do some laundry and figured while I was there, might as well hit. He bought me dinner because i'm a poor looooosaaahhh....and then we shot some hockey.

I want to finally play around with the IndoBoard if I have time, and maybe get some weights in. I have some responsibilities to take care of that might block me up most of the day though...so it might not be happening.

Everyone - no update for today because I really need to get some sleep. I did some KB's and some IndoBoard....thats really all.
 
Do you ever find that yourself or your clients experience any joint pain/ailments while training with KB's? I must admit that I have done a whole lot of training with them, and was just wondering as there sems to be alot of swinging in the presses? I just finished running a couple of my hockey players through a little training session (more introducing them to the exercises than actual training), I was thinking that it might be a good idea for some of the older kids to invest in some KB's as they would be able to do the workouts anywhere.

I hear ya about the whole $$$ situation, these last few months have been nasty, the bills are definitely coming in quicker than the pay cheques. All you can do is keep thinking positively and working your a$$ off in all areas of like. Seeing as I had to take a pay cut in my current position I'm now trying to make a couple extra bucks, through XHTML, training clients again, getting involved in some hockey camps, etc, etc. None of those are paying big bucks right now but the combination of incomes is helping.
 
At least you're finding some stuff to toy around with though...thats a huge deal. I live in a DEAD area so its really hard to drum up anything. I'd be better off moving 45 mins away...but that clearly isn't an option right now.

With the KB's there are a great deal of exercises that I perform with them at the end as stretches and muscle relaxers that keep me injury/soreness free. Its a big deal because when I was competitive in tennis....I needed my shoulder and elbow joints for pretty much every point. I literally spend a good 20-30 mins doing exercises for those muscles after a KB workout.

Also, the "russian" way of KB's isn't always the right way. The way I was taught shows you how to perform the lifts without using your back as a crutch and swinging to high hell, haha. I am going to put some videos on youtube soon...I just haven't found the time.
 
Hey Chuck, I found some rubberized KB's at The Sports Authority the other day... what would be a good weight to start out with for basic exercises ?

I think they only went up to 25 pounds, and it was like $60 for one :jaw:

16kg is good to start (35lbs)...you can get them cheaper online.
 
I found some cheap ones at Target. Who knows I might pick some up for off gym days. Right now this house is so cluttered though that I won't bring anything extra in. I wanted to get some for the shop but we have no air there so its hoootttt. I'm not big on exercising in the heat. :)

Summary
Sorry for the lack of updates to everyone that really reads along with this. I feel like I let people down when I don't get to the updates...but things have not exactly been bright around here lately, so other things have kind of taken precedence over updating. I have been very active, but I haven't exactly taken a large account of my nutrition lately either. Im not eating terribly....but not well. I've had trouble getting decent sleep lately...im having some awful dreams. To fix this, last night I had about 4 grey goose and Sprite zero's and then when I ran out of grey goose, had 3 or so stoli raz with cranberry juice. Yesterday was a very very bad day.....and I am just hoping that things turn upward soon.

Today I hit singles tennis for a while and zoned the entire world out for about 1.5 hours. My hitting partner today said he's never seen anything like I was today. He couldn't get a single point for probably the first 40 minutes we were out there. I covered every piece of court easily and my shots were near flawless. I really wish I could keep my mind that clear at all times. It was like I was thinking....nothing.

I then was on the IndoBoard for a while practicing my balance and working on tricks and such. I did practically a full bodyweight squat session on the board, haha. I will get a video up soon.

Summary
Sorry for the lack of updates to everyone that really reads along with this. I feel like I let people down when I don't get to the updates...but things have not exactly been bright around here lately, so other things have kind of taken precedence over updating. Don't worry about lacking on updates bud. Its no big deal. I always stop in and check in on ya regardless. I am not doing any updates either. I am in essence a ghost right now. However, that has a lot to do with the fact that I am struggling to keep my head above water and I just don't feel like I can contribute as much right now. I am around to help those with questions in regards to AN products and to help out those that want some suggestions or help from me, but beyond that. I am just not ME if you know what I mean?

So in essence...I understand times may be tough, but it is those times when you build your character and redefine yourself as a better person. You learn and grow and come back stronger than the person you were before the tough times. :).

My computer at home died last night which is a little annoying, I'm not so much worried about the computer as that can be replaced, I'm more concerned about all the information, files, etc. that I have on there, if the computer can't be fixed hopefully I can get the them to at least recover the information.

I'll get an update done tonight everyone...sorry for the slacking lately. I also have a vid to post that is RIDICULOUS of me playing with the IndoBoard. I messed up the first move and the second move I KNEW i'd mess up....and then messed it up anyway, haha
