People hate cell phone users in the gym? I got one to top that. Couple years ago, I was on flat bench DB pressing with 80's or 90's, don't remember. Well there was a mom and daughter combo that just yakked the entire time they were there. They would take up space on equipment and talk non-stop, even while doing reps. So I am DB pressing and the daughter comes over and sticks a cell phone in my face, mid set, and says, "do you know my boyfriend Toby?" Turns out I used to work with the guy, but the MIDDLE of a set, not IN-BETWEEN sets, is NOT a good time to ask!
Most people do stupid stuff in the gym. But even if you aren't in great shape, but truly work hard and actually expend some energy, then all the props to you.
2-When the "smoothie bar" sells "healthy smoothies" to the fat people with 40-60 grams of sugar and has like 700 calories. That just seems like a train wreck for an obese person who has to watch total calories consumed. Not necessarily bad for someone that is building or maintaining muscle and understands what they are drinking.
just my 2 cents.
PS. I told my wife no girfriends in the gym when we first started dating. So she decided she was going to lift with me. And for years she does typical bodybuilder style workouts. Benches, deads, squats, what ever. She is one of the few women that actually lift correctly and isn't afraid to be in the weight area with the guys. She definitely works hard which is cool. All her freinds at work ask her how she looks great and what they can do to look the same. They join the gym and she says go lift weights with me, but they think they will end up like Arnold so they don't. And they stay on the cardio equip, they stay fat and out of shape, or they lose weight and get skinny but still soft and squishy looking with no muscle tone.
