13 pro bowlers and no post season, proof yet again that money doesn't buy a winning team. i guess TO should start making golf plans. they are the most overrated bunch of criminals in sports.

They still have the most Superbowl appearances and are tied for the most Superbowl wins. They're just letting the other teams get a chance to catch up.

2010 Superbowl Champs!

Yes you are a fan but realistically they are further from that championship than you might think. Before that can happen, they have to get their organization all on the same page. Jerry Jones is like George Steinbrenner and will do everything in his power to get the best front office and player talent available however, that talent has to work together and that hasn't happened.

I agree. They need to get in sync. They also need to shore up their offensive play calling and execution. However, keep in mind, the Cowboys were decimated by injuries this year.

They lost:
1 pro bowl QB for 3 games
1 starting left guard
1 back up left guard
1 3rd WR/kick returner for the majority of the season
1 4th WR
1 5th WR
1 starting RB was injured toward the end of the season
1 rookie phenom RB/KR
1 pro bowl cb
1 nickel cb
1 pro bowl safety
1 back up safety/special teams ace
1 third string safety
1 pro bowl punter
1 back up middle linebacker/special teams ace

I know every team has their share of injuries, but the Cowboys took quite a few and it didn't help their chemistry. Not to mention they added lots of new talent which also impacts their team chemistry.

This is what I hate most about Cowboys fans: they always have an excuse when they lose. They underachieved the whole year, even when they were healthy.

I'm not saying they didn't underachieve, they did. My point was that there were a lot of injuries. By no means am I justifying a 9-7 finish and not making the playoffs. However, it is ignorant to say that a team's health does not play a major role in their success in the NFL.

I submit for your approval the New England Patriots who lost their league MVP quarterback as well as other key players and still managed to win 11 games. Unfortunetly, that kinda hurts your argument a bit. Now they didn't make the playoffs either but there was no drama and no excuses. Even though I don't like them, I have to give props for that.

NE- 16-0 to 11-5, 5 wins less
DAL-13-3 to 9-7, 4 wins less

You're right tho, Cowboys have issues. They need to learn to STFU and play football. Garrett need to step up to the plate as well. Their players need to learn to never say die.

Also, I'd trade Brad Johnson for Matt Cassel any day....Johnson has got to go.

You got part of my point, the expectations once Brady went down was maybe for a 8 or 9 win season, they exceeded those expectations and In any other year those 11 wins would have definitely got them in.

When Romo went down it seemed like subconsciously the Cowboys gave up. It's a mental toughness issue. Also Romo is young but not invincible, they didn't prepare properly for the possibility of his getting injured and were unable to shift gears when it happened. That being said, with a new stadium on the way, I'm sure Jerry Jones will be moving heaven and earth (and some people)to make next year better.

I don't think it was when Romo went down they quit, I think it was when they realized how washed up Brad Johnson had become. Also, while the offense died when Romo went down, the defense really started to step it up.

That being said, with a new stadium on the way, I'm sure Jerry Jones will be moving heaven and earth (and some people)to make next year better.

I hope they:

- Trade Crayton for whatever they can get for him.
- Draft a safety with loads of potential in the second round.
- Focus on bringing together the offense as a unit and a whole team concept on both sides of the ball.

I would be all for Jones calling Jimmy Johnson and Bill Cowher to feel out their feelings about coaching the team. They could use someone who could instill discipline. Even someone like Mike Singletary could do wonders for the team. That being said, if they couldn't get Johnson or Cowher, I'd stay with Phillips.

the cowboys r the worst franchise in history next to the yankees, and they are very similar in how they do business, as a giants fan all i'm hoping for is the cowboys to trade witten or ware to us for cheddar bob a.k.a plaxico burress

Can you elaborate on this statement? Why are they (and the Yankees) the worst franchises in history?

If Jerry Jones ever made a trade like that, I think every Dallas cowboy fan would hunt him down and impeach his ass somehow.

Riiiiiight. 5 Superbowl wins and 9 appearances and they are the second worst franchise in history? Oh, and the team that's worst than them only has 26 World Series wins?

You are dumb.

As for Ware, the Giants have no combination of players they could trade that would equal a Ware. They could offer, Eli, Jacobs, Tuck, and Umenyori, and the cowboys would say no. Plaxico Burress sucks. The Cowboys wouldn't want him.

Discrace.... they spend way too much money for what they get in return.

I'm not so sure about that, I think they gave Tennessee a 4th round pick for Pacman, and got a 5th round pick back when he got suspended. They paid him close to league minimum and I think the same went for Tank Johnson. As for TO, I think he met the expectations. He wasn't as much of a factor in 2008 as he was in 2007 but that's because teams really started to gameplan and take him out of the game. The 2007 season was the one where the Cowboys really blew a chance b/c that was the best they'd been for a long time, they were easily the best team in the NFC that year.

People keep criticizing the boys for giving up too much for Roy Williams, ect. Well they have 11 picks this year, with like 8 of them in rounds 2-5, where you can make your money. They should have an interesting draft and I hope Jerry wheels and deals away.

They've upgraded at safety, picking up the Jaguars starting SS, not sure of his name. They've given their offense a chance to move the ball around to all their unheralded talent by dumping TO, and they got rid of all the primadonnas on the team. Their talent is amongst top tier in the NFL at nearly every position. I like their shot this year of winning it all this coming year.

They may have had the best talent but, the best team doesn't lose in the first playoff game. As they've found out it takes more than just talent to make a team.

Just b/c they got beat doesn't mean they weren't better. As should be pretty obvious by now the best team doesn't always win the game.

I agree. I think they were much better than the Giants that year.....the Giants were just on fire. They peaked at the right time.

And TO is official no longer a Dallas Cowboy. Thoughts from Boys fans?

I am not a Boys fan but I think they made a huge mistake!!!! They need to get rid of their Infamous then Famous qb thanks to Jessica Simpson...I bet the Bills do better than the Boys this year....Just my opinion...

I don't deny that TO is a great talent, but there is too much other talent on the team to justify keeping TO. For 3 years, the boys had to consistently placate TO with as many touches as TO thought were merited. There is too much offensive explosiveness on the boys to deal with that crap.

1. Jason Witten
2. Roy Williams
3. Miles Austin
4. Marion Barber
5. Felix Jones
6. Tashard Choice
7. Martellus Bennett
8. Patrick Crayton (ugh....I hate Crayton)

Those are all playmakers and TO has been holding them down with his whining. The cowboys offensive production will be up this year. Count on it.

For the Boys I hope so and I do think that maybe their production on offense will be up but they still won't go to the SuperBowl...

The Cowboys need to get Torry Holt ASAP. He's the anti-TO and very productive. I also don't think it's fair to blame everything on TO. It seems to me as if Jerry Jones is using him as the scapegoat when then man that really needed to leave town is Wade Phillips. I'm not too convinced on Tony Romo either, something about him in big games. He'll be the next Danny White unless he performs in the Play-Offs.

The Cowboys are a still a 10-6 team w/out TO but I think they'll miss him unless they pick up Torry Holt.

I don't think Jerry Jones made TO the scapegoat, the media had already branded him that ages ago. I would agree though that TO doesn't deserve the full blame, but then again I wouldnt really blame Wade Phillips or Romo. I would say injuries hurt the Cowboys more than any other aspect. Wade Phillips and Romo are the same people they were when the Cowboys went 13-3. Injuries to the offensive line(Kosier specifically), Felix Jones, Marion Barber, Austin Miles and Sam Hurd, Roy Williams, Terence Newman, etc was the main difference between the seasons IMO at least.

The biggest problem the Cowboys had last year was not being prepared in the event that Romo went down cause when he did it was lights out.

Agreed. I hope the boys go for a more run first approach this year. It would minimize the impact if Romo goes down and take some pressure off him.

Many holes would need to be fixed for this system to be implemented to a point where it could take a team to the super bowl, but intriguing none the less.

the dallas cowboys are not a disgrace Jerry Jones is for bringing all these idiots to this team come on now how long did he think T.O was going to play nice and Adam Jones one of the stupedist pick ups that guy will never change hes a thug

Agreed about JJ not T.O. and agree with you on AJ...These superstars cease to amaze me, they got everything in the world anyone would want or could have and some turn out like idiots, I just don't get it...IF I got payed to play a sport I love I would play it when I was supposed to and be seldom seen or heard of anywhere else...Adam Jones, Plaxico Buress, Ricky Williams, Ron Artest, Dennis Rodman and to many others to mention wtf??? Sorry for ranting...

That team has "TOTALLY" sold out! Jerry Jones is a narcissistic buffoon. It's a shame Witten has to put on that uniform every Sunday. He's the only class left in the entire organization.

The biggest on the field problem was that "cancer" TO.He parted that team like Moses.

Yeah....Ware has no class....are you kidding?

Romo is a class act as well, not to mention Marion Barber, Bradie James and Terance Newman, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I do acknowledge that TO, Pacman, and Crayton are douchebags however.

I think the problem with the Cowboys is that they are the Cowboys, a bunch of flaming pussies.

I'll agree with that, the Cowboy's have some true class acts. I didn't know Crayton was notoriously bad though?

He's always been like TO's sidekick...being loud in the locker room and with the media. Maybe he's not "notoriously bad", but the amount shat talking and arrogance does not equal his level of talent.....not by a long stretch.

I am not a Dallas Cowboy fan by any means. I really hate the Cowboys.

However, I do commend Jerry Jones for actually spending money to put his team at a good chance of winning.
