"After the first round ended, the fighters are getting ready for round two. One inspector noticed a (St. Pierre) cornerman, Phil Nurse, putting Vaseline on George's face, then kind of rubbed him down a bit, which would be okay if he was clean," asserted Keith Kizer.

Such an impropriety immediately raised red flags and put him on full alert, especially with this mega-fight occurring just one week after another wave of doctoring controversy had crashed over the Antonio Margarito vs. Shane Mosely boxing match in California. Margarito was suspended and ordered to attend a hearing due to a foreign substance found in his hand wraps on the night of the fight.

"After round two, I watched him like a hawk," said Kizer. "I've only entered the ring maybe three or four times (in my career) during a fight, but I did this time.

Watching the pay-per-view, Nurse is clearly seen on camera applying Vaseline to the face of St. Pierre following round one. It is difficult to tell the amount of residual Vaseline on his hands, but he does clearly rub St. Pierre's shoulders and then reach around to touch his upper back. The extent to which such actions affected the actual in-ring action are unclear, but what is clear is that such action was a violation Nevada's regulations.

AS you said the NSAC is a goverment entity and my post is what was said by the director of said government Entity.

the commison representative did wipe down the fighter so in their opinon the grease must of been excessive and that is how his corner committed something illegal

Shh, you have exposed the invalidity of GSP's 'gameplan' against BJ Penn: grease your back, and use that grease to destroy him on the feet, totally negate his jab, dominate him in the clinch game, and then take him down and pass guard at will. As you can see, the grease is the key.

I definitely can't argue that GSP won decisively and would mostly likely win, 8 out of 10 times based on both of their conditions during their fight. My issue is if GSP had foreknowledge and intent. Greasing the back & chest probably did not effect any circumstance in this fight, HOWEVER, it does serve as insurance and a confidence of not fearing BJ on the ground. I realize this is a lot of theoretical jargon on the surface, but a fighter can definitely perform better or worse based on his own confidences or lack thereof (GSP/Serra). This is the first I've ever heard of this greasing thing, and if it were an isolated incident, then its a lot more forgivable, but if this is a re-occurring strategy, then something is shady. Even if this greasing strategy did not effect any of GSP's previous fights, if it were used with intent, whether it was a factor or not, it puts a damper in the integrity of the all Canadian hero.

Grease or no grease, I believe GSP would have won that night, and as mentioned, probably 8 out of 10 times if the same two fighters stepped into the ring, it's intent that makes me raise an eyebrow.

I'm not angered or outraged, I've already dealt with the loss. I probably pre-dealt with the loss because I realized today's GSP is light years beyond the GSP that first fought Penn. Personally, I was hoping for a miracle. I was just interested in this wrench and the potential slim shady'ness.

I think also, steroids doesn't seem to bother the MMA crowd or this generation of sports fans in general (clearly I'm generalizing). I think performance enhancing drugs are gaining an assumed integration to most sports these days, with the exception of Chinese table tennis. Also, I can't speak for anyone else, but from my perspective, steroid use is a general "cheat," while the application of vasoline in strategic places takes the appearance of a specific cheat against a specific strategy, and in this case, especially effective against someone who can work off his back with those oddly flexible legs. As an admitted Penn nuthugger (well, maybe not full on, Fedor nuts I hug, maybe just a tight grip on Penn's), I don't think Penn will ever beat GSP UNLESS Penn levels up into a Paladin Final Fantasy II style like GSP did. BJ may have improved, but GSP transformed. Nonetheless, I'm making this face as a result of the Vasoline incident of 2009
