USP Lab tester log

Dig the Bulgarian split-squats. What's your take on these, and how do they feel to you?
Been thinking of incorporating these myself; they feel a tad awkward..

I like them as long as my knee tracking is in place. I make sure to go as deep as possible, nice and slow.
 
Monday January 19, 2008 - Chest, Lats, Delts

I started with incline dumbbell press for the first time in 6 months and it felt good to be back. I used very controlled form and worked up to the 140s which I moved for 5 nice reps. I was extremely happy with that. I then moved on to strict smith upright rows, close grip lat pulldowns (I hate how light these are in my gym), incline hammer press, smith machine military, rack chins, side serratus abs.


Tuesday January 20, 2008 - Arms and Calves

Great calf workout; crappy arm workout. I set a PR on pushdowns and then I think I threw something out of wack in my left forearms as it left like someone punched my brachii with their knuckle. It made it hard to do much after that so I just stayed light on the arms. V-pushdowns, dumbbell skullcrushers, one arm rope pushdowns, preacher machine, concentration curls, seated curls machine, standing plate loaded calves, toe press machine, planks. Arm feels good a day later.


Wednesday January 21, 2008 - Off

I combined my preworkout and night time dose of Powerfull; I took 6 before bed. Holy cow did I sleep well. Usually I wake up 4 times a night to take a leak. Only once last night!

Hear ya about peeing so much at night. You must drink a lot of water too (either that or you're a diabetic!)

Quick question for ya bro: since you gave me the heads up on the ATD.. just found out that there is a small amount in Formadrol. I checked for Formadrol on the ban list, I didn't see it. Can you offer some clarification?
And if it is banned, what would you suggest for a little drying out?
I recently ran DeiselTest Hardcore for 3 weeks, looking for something to follow this up with.. thx.
 
Nice.. haha, I started researching DIM couple weeks back, thought I was a pioneer or something. Come to find out everybody's using it! :lol:

Thursday January 22, 2009 - Back

Today was supposed to be back thickness but I turned it into back width because something didnt feel right in my lower back. I was going for a rep out set with 495 on deads to see how many I could get and my form was just off tonight so I stopped. I felt a slight pain in my lower back so I stopped. It is a little sore now and probably will be for a couple of days. Just going to think positive and lay off lower back loads the next couple of days. I think I could have pulled it for 15+ easy if I didn't stop. We then moved on to cybex row machine, weighted pullups, weighted rack chins, plate loaded row machine (felt weird.....weird machine), high mts row superset rear delt flys. Skipped abs because of my back.
 
Friday January 23, 2009 - Chest/Shoulders/Calves

Back is very achy and sore from yesterday but I through some biofreeze on there and had a great workout (training smart though!). Incline smith press, hammer strength military, flat hammer press, lat raise machine, flat fly machine superset machine military, toe press machine calves, seated calves, stretching. Skipped abs because of the back.


Saturday January 24, 2008 - Cardio

20 min recumbnt bike, 10 min incline treadmill. Spent 3 hours at the local Vitamin Shoppe today handing out USP Labs samples and educating the consumer. We had a very good turnout.
 
Sunday January 25, 2009 - Quads and Hams

Holy pump! Sometimes a little tweak/injury is a good thing because it brings you back down to earth (sometimes we think we are invincible) and it helps you focus more on form. I absolutely crushed legs today and my back felt good already (but not rushing it since it has only been a couple of days and I'm still stiff in the mornings). I started with leg extensions with controlled form (I thought they were going to pop! and the knees felt great), I then did super slow laying leg curls, slow and deep bulgarian split squats (man may glutes are wrecked), ATG close stance hack squat (on the higher rep side), leg press, slow seated curls, v-situps, lots of stretching. All around great workout! I feel growth!


Monday January 26, 2009 - Chest and Back

Another all around great workout with a painfull pump. Incline dumbbells (PR 140sx6 nice and smooth), flat smith press, free motion fly machine, straight bar behind the neck pulldowns (Ronnie style but slow and controlled - I never do these but I have been working a lot on shoulder flexibility and now I can do these and the lats feel a great stretch), wide low hammer row with squeeze superset dumbbell shrugs, free motion lat pulldowns with long hold, ball crunches, stretching! More growth!!!
 
Tuesday January 27, 2009 - Arms and Calves

Solid workout tonight. Seated strict dumbbell curls with back support, preacher machine curls, barbell curls, one arm rope pushdowns, overhead cable extensions (left forearm has been getting really tight on triceps when I go really deep), kneeling rope pushdowns, free motion toe calves, standing calves, standing ab machine, stretching!

Holy sweatfest tonight! I was drenched. Dumbbell military, rear delt fly machine superset dumbbell lat raises, dumbbell shrugs superset rear delt pec deck, smith machine military, barbell shrugs, free motion lat raise superset free motion bent raises (one set), rope abs, stretching!
 
Friday January 30, 2009 - Hams and Calves

Nice solid workout today. Still taking it a little easy on the back but I felt good and had no problem with 405 ATG wide squats so that was a great sign. One leg standing curl, laying leg curl, wide ATG barbell squats, glute ham hypers, inner and outer thigh machine, seated calves, plate loaded angle calves, v-situps, stretching.

Trained at a different gym in Ashburn, VA today. I was very pleased with the workout and my chest felt extremely pump and hard afterwards. Incline barbell press, flat barbell press, super incline hammer press, incline dumbbell flys, v-pushdowns, close grip press, overhead machine, ab machine, stretching.


Sunday February 1, 2009 - Back and Bis

Really high rep/volume workout today...not really by choice but the machines/dumbbells I chose to use didn't hold that much weight. Wide hammer pulldowns, one arm dumbbell rows (3 sets of 20 reps each arm with 150s...the weight felt super light but man I was about to die after this exercise....I couldn't catch my breath the rest of the workout!), strict barbell rows super set barbell shrugs (back felt a little tight/achy on this), close grip lat pulldowns, plate loaded preacher machine, hammer dumbbells with back against wall, high cable curls, behind the back barbell wrist curls, side serratus abs, stretching! Man I was wrecked after that!

That's a nice gym. Luckily they let us in for free. They wouldn't accept our travel pass from Ballston Golds because it was within 50 miles. (We are sponsored by Golds Ballston so we get a membership there, but we don't have the corporate membership where you can go to all of the Golds in the DC area).

Ya its a pretty nice gym i have been lifting there forever it seems..glad you enjoyed it haha

I mean I don't use machines or anything, but when I do lift in a gym I sure don't have to worry about maxing out the equipment!!

Tuesday February 3, 2009 - Quads and Hams

All around great workout! I haven't had ZAP in about 10 days I think and I popped 4 tonight....man I was amped up, knees felt good, and energy was great. Started with 5x5 ATG barbell squats (and squeeked out 7 on the last set for fun). Then moved on to ATG higher rep hack squats (legs already sore at this point), leg press, laying leg curls, leg extensions, straight leg raises, and stretching! Definitely crushed it!
 
Wednesday February 4, 2009 - Chest/Shoulders/Lats

Another great workout. Incline dumbbell press (PR - today was the first time I ever tried the 150s on incline and I got 4 but had a little bump on 2 of them....I was still really happy with these as the first two went up easy and my shoulder/chest was feeling good!), dumbbell upright row, wide grip lat pulldown (stack plus 4x25s for 12), incline hammer press (worked up to 4 plates and a 25 on each side for 5-6), neutral grip cyber military, behind the neck pulldowns with good stretch and squeeze, one set of free motion flys, weighted abs on a ball, and stretching!
 
Thursday February 5, 2009 - Arms and Calves

Crazy arm workout tonight. The pump was intense and my arms felt very dense. Great feeling. Strict preacher ezcurls (spider), hammer curls (worked up to 110s), high preacher curl machine superset rope curls, one arm free motion pushdowns, overhead dumbbell extensions (worked up to 150x20), overhead machine superset v-pushdowns, seated calves, smith machine calves, rope crunches, stretching!

Saturday February 7, 2009 - Back and traps

Felt really solid again tonight. King t-bar row, hammer row machine superset hammer shrugs, trap bar deadlifts (haven't done these in a while and they felt great...worked up to an easy 495x8 with no back pain at all! I think 585 would have felt light if I started with them), hyperextensions superset rear delt dumbbell flys, supported t-bar row, one set of close grip lat pulldowns for a stretch, side serratus abs, stretching.

Decent workout and had an awesom pump in my shoulders. I have been having trouble getting all my food in on the weekends recently because I have been sleeping so much. Time to bump up the macros some as I'm leaning out without even trying. I think my metabolism is up too. Flat barbell press, smith machine military with holds at the bottom, incline leverage press, seated strict lat raises, flat fly machine superset cable front raises, plate loaded standing calves, seated calves with holds, ab machine, stretching.

Awesome Zap filled workout tonight. I continued my progression on 5x5 squats. Tonight I did 415 (last week was 405) for 4 sets of 5 and then banged out 7 on the last set again. We then did laying leg curls, leg press superset hack squats, walking barbell lunges superset leg extensions, inner thigh machine, straight leg raises, and stretching! Holy cr@p that was a good workout. I was spent at the end!

The 150s didnt feel that heavy!), high hammer row, incline smith press with holds at the bottom, barbell row superset barbell shrugs (I was rocked after this), wide free motion pulldowns with long squeeze, flat fly machine, knee-in abs, stretching. Felt tight and dense today.

I am liking product X but only have about 7 days left...I think this is something that would benefit running 8+ weeks because it comes on slow and the cumulative effects are real nice. I am feeling a nice density and pump from it and also have experience an increased sense of well being. I'm looking forward to adding in Prime after next week too.

My legs are smoked from 2 days ago. Another very effective workout today. Had trouble straightening my arms after training bis...great pump! Barbell lose form curls, incline hammer curls, slow cable preacher curls, v-pushdowns, overhead dumbbell extensions, kneeling rope pushdowns superset dumbbell skullcrushers, wrist curls, toe press machine, standing calves, ab machine, stretching! I'm beat up (in a good way)! Ready for a rest day soon!
 
If you find out Sporto, let me know. as my last post wasnt addressed. LOL

Product X at this point will never make it to market but USPlabs reps and athletes will be able to get some.

It cost a lot to make but it is good for strength and stacked with PRIME oooooo nilly!

I should have taken off today...I was beat up from a week of good training and it was a pretty stressful week for me at work. I just didn't have the intensity I usually have. Still got a nice little pump though. Smith military to top of chest, dumbell shrug superset mts military machine, cable row shrug superset lat raise machine, rear delt pec deck with holds, rope abs.

Sunday February 15, 2009 - Hams and Calves

Crushed it today. Romanian deadlifts (was still trying to be careful with these since it was the first time doing these after tweaking my back a little 3 weeks ago. They felt good and I worked up to 455x10), deep one leg bulgarian split squats, seated leg curl, outer thigh machine superset laying leg curl, leg press calves, seated calves, v-situps, stretching.

My sets went like this 50x10, 70x10, 90x10, 110x10, 130x10 (warmups), 150x6! (maybe a little bump on 1), 150x6 (slight bump on 1 or 2) drop to 120x7or8. Incline hammer press, flat barbell press, incline cable flys, rope pushdowns, close grip smith machine, overhead cable extensions, weighted ball crunches, stretching. Glutes are tore up from yesterday.
