BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER: Snag's Recipe for a [NATURAL] Recomp, Competition Style!

Let's take a gander at the Muscle Milk Collegiate nutrition facts:

...all I see is a high calorie, high carb, low protein per serving protein shake

WTF could they test for ??
Ingredients:
INGREDIENTS: EVOPRO(TM) Our Custom Evaluation based protein, peptide, and amino acid matrix, designed to closely reflect the nitrogen components and ratios found in human mother's milk (Micellar Alpha and Beta Casiens and Cassienates, Whey concentrates, rich in Alpha-Lactalbumin, Whey Isolates, Whey Peptides, Purified Bovine Colostrum Extract rich in Secretory IgA and IGF-1, Glutamine Peptides, L-Taurine, Lactofemin). LEANLIPIDES(TM) Lipid complex selected for thermogenic and unique energy properties (Canola Oil, BETAPOL (TM) [Enzyme Engineered Polyunsaturated Long-Chain Vegetable Oils] MCT's, L-Carnitine), Maltodextrin, CYTOVITE I(TM), Vitamin and Mineral premix consisting of (Vitamin A acetate, cholecalciferol, d-alpha-tocopherol acetate, ascorbic acid, folate, thiamine monohydrate, riboflavin, niacinamide, pyrodoxine HCL, cyanocobalamine, biotin, pantothenic acid, di-calcium phosphate, potassium iodide, potassium chloride, ferrous fumerate, magnesium oxide, copper gluconate, and zinc oxide), gum arabic, ENDOCREATINE (TM) our proprietary, patent pending endogenous creatine precursor (Glycocyamine, betaine anhydrous, SAMe [S-Andenosylmethionine]), Natural and Artificial flavors, lecithin, sucralose.

Now as for what they can test for in there, nothing pops out . I just thought the supp label didnt give the whole picture.

Maybe this ?

.. I just googled for the supp label, I guess that wasn't very specific

I would believe that would the ingredient..however, our sanctioning body for 'Higher Education' would have us believe that bovine colostrum - which is simply milk - is a baaaaad thing because CytoSport misadvertises it as 'IgA and IGF-1' promoting..

Colostrum is sold OTC as a health supplement:

Sorry for the 'Now' link, just good info imo..

Fellas, are you ready for this one?? Caffeine is also banned by the NCAA!! ..altho levels have to be abnormally high..but it is still banned.

I just looked thru the list of banned substances by the NCAA..

Some will crack you up for sure..

Zinc raises testosterone and may lower estrogen in healthy males. Oh shit......it's true!!

All you NCAA athletes out there, better watch your use of strychnine, you will be :banned: banned!

:wtf:

Altho, I guess dropping acid is still in vogue in the college years.. but listed under 'stimulants'??
Not what I'd want to do to gear up for an athletic event, haha.

For you baseball fans out there tho, recently deceased former MLB pitcher Doc Ellis said that, when he tossed his no-hitter back in like 1970 or '71, he was tripping on LSD.. hmm..

I just can't picture hammering some weights out while tripping balls.

I thought that strychnine was in rat poison? And that it DID increase heart rate, so much in fact that this is what kills the rats. Not that I used LSD in the 80's.....

Strychnine is rat poison. It's also in acid (the trippin' kind).

Not that I would know either..

I guess it would be classified as a stimulant then.

Wait, I thought you and TG were just talking about "Higher Learning"....

Some FT protocol today.. decided against cardio, hammered some weights instead.. details coming, pic following breakfast (in keeping with the kids' bathroom theme, I'll stay there when I have to snap pics of myself; besides, the wife will get a kick out of the penguin shot, hahaa)..

Day #20 Shoulders/Traps/Triceps/Abs

Behind-neck military press, angled single-arm laterals, front & behind-back shrugs, close-grip bench, DB skullcrushers, reverse-grip tricep pushdowns were the order of the day, followed by abs, then shoveling snow again -- the Snag Storm is leaving remnants of destruction all over the place! :D

Rest periods were majority 75sec thruout, 90sec on the military press and close-grip bench tho; 45sec on abs. Static flexing was done after finishing each bodypart.

Breakfast (postworkout) was a bit different this morning, as I get ready to shift the diet once again starting tomorrow:

Pslin 15min prior
2 pieces Ezekiel cinnamon raisin
1 TBS natty PB
2 TBS sugar-free blueberry jam
1 large grapefruit
1 scoop ON Gold Standard Whey
505cals, 72/34/9

Kind of a refeed for me, before I get to the business of getting my shred on for real..

Still looking full Snag. Do you almost feel guilty when you eat the PB&J on cinn/raisin? Nice re-feed!! Forecast is looking ominous...

I bet they test for the canola oil.

Man.. who needs cardio when there's all this shoveling to do??
Just got back in from the second round today, stuff's falling like crazy here -- feels like I'm in Siberia or something..
Maybe I got a bit carried away with my Storm. :o

That's how I felt over Christmas! 3 successive snow-dumpings in 4 days, and like a good neighbour I did my 2 elderly neigbour's driveways as well, and they are looong lol. Was good cardio though!

Awww, what a guy SteveO! Yeah, I shovel one of my elderly neighbors' drive as well. Not enough ppl look out for the elderly these days, nice to see..

Meal #2 today, backing up that refeed:
1 can tuna
3 egg whites
2 TBS salsa
2 Ezekiel bread (not CR this time)
1.5 cups broccoli
415cals, 38/56/4

Might have another food pic later on; I'll keep you guys in suspense..

Thanks my Irish brother! :D
I had more striations this morning before eating that breakfast, but I do look fuller than when I woke up too - kinda love-hate there y'know.

Damn, lower pec striations coming in and your obliques look more prominent and separated from your abs.

Delts also look more prominent, the anterior and medial heads are showing some nice distinction, and nice tan. I feel like an albino gorilla this time of year.

Snag, not to stroke your ego, because you don't need that and I don't do any kind of stroking on men!! LMAO
But your guns look as good as Lee Priest's , but your chest looks even better!
You know his delts totally overwhelm his pecs.
But you are very balanced. Awesome physique bro!! :head:

Whoaaaa..back the Priest-train up my German Thunderbolt; that's a hella comparison. I'm speechless.
I've always looked up to Lee, and I could only wish my biceps compared to his, but I'll take the balanced compliment anytime! :head:

(Love the varied ethnicity up in heah! :D)

Really guys, I didn't think the pic was all that, but appreciation out to everybody. I'm really, really excited about how I think the next pics will look, I think some changes are getting ready to bloom.

LOL, yeah - kids will be kids. I don't think it's as messy as it looks there really; picking up a lot of glare from the cam flash.
Food pic coming up later on, dedicated to you bro!

Back in from shoveling for the third time.. not a ton of accumulation, maybe 1.5-2", but I want to keep on top of it; there's another cliffer headed our way tomorrow following this one and I won't be able to tend to it - I'll be working my GNC gig. Plus it's drifting a bit.. I don't like a messy driveway. Ahh, I'm digging the extra activity anyway. I think I'm done now tho.. ready to chill.

Once again your pics prove my theory bro....And im feeling small, and flat..Think of a pancake..thats me.

Damn Russian...If you are a pancake, then I feel like Crepe!!

Pic of the legs tonight.. Next round, I'll put upper & lower all in one shot, ahaa. We'll see how everything's fitting together.

Thanks Kyle. And all the support up in here - you guys are pushing me to make it better every time!!

Chef appreciation is cool too Vol!!

Is it time to dry out? Quads showing nice separation. Deffinitely not skimping on the shrimp there Snag.

Yes, it is time to get dry.
Me, skimp on shrimp?? Nooo sir..
I'm only getting 5 meals in today, so the portions are a bit larger. In fact, that was a full 1lb shrimp in that meal!

Wow, just noticed we got a shitload of smilies to play with now..

Is 5 meals okay for me too? Or should I be diligent with 6?

If you're schedule only allows for 5 meals, every 3hrs, then you can roll with that bro, no biggie. On days I run fasted training - as long as I don't wake up at like 4:30am or some stupid time - I don't have time to get all of them in.
So, then you can trim the time between down (every 2.5hrs or so) to get 6 in, or stay every 3hrs and just make larger portions, get 5.
It's all preference man. I just prefer 6 meals, suits me well..

I'm okay with 5, I just want whatever will be optimal for my cut. I've been doing every 2.5 hours for the past week and a half, getting my last (two), all protein meals in at least 2 hrs before bed.

Sounds good. My personal preference is for 3hrs between meals, 6x daily. Sometimes I'll drop down to 2:45 between.
Every 2.5 is good too; the important thing imo is to not go past 3.5 - and never, ever go past 4hrs.
The no eating 2hrs prior to bed is a great guideline as well. If it's all protein tho, you could do 1-1.5 hrs prior to bed and still be okay..
You're doing fine brother, keep rolling with your plan.

I've not been a fan of eating before bed for a while. Especially for people who are trying to stay lean and shoving fat-free cottage cheese down their pipes right before bed... It's not the smartest thing to do. haha. I have been taking EAAs before bed and I think it's doing some good for recovery. No doubt.
