Which brings me to this..

In all my years of training & dieting, I'll tell you what I believe my biggest bodybuilding accomplishment is to date:

Towards the end of 2007, I had some personal strife going on, and fell into some very bad habits. Eating garbage; drinking some alcohol (among other things); I have the tendency to do things all out, and depression/partying/self-destructiveness is no different. My energies can be negative if I'm not running a tight ship, feeling sorry for myself..

Anyway, I had gotten to my worst physical shape of my adult lifetime, by far, in the span of 3 months. It was time to snap out of it. Enter my foray into AP & the whole USP line, what is now known as the all-natural 'Asteroid Stack'..

I went from my worst all-time shape, to what I consider my best overall shape, symmetry/size/muscle fullness-wise, in 10 weeks & 3 days..

THAT IS AMAZING !!!! Invalid Link Removed

Did you do any cardio then or was it just diet&weights ?

Thank you D!! :D

I actually did the most cardio during a prep I had ever done, recommended to me by Joe Franco. In hindsight, I really needed it to accomplish the body changes I did in that short amount of time.

Glad you like the food pic! Hmm, think I'll eat that today.. it looks good! :food:

Just a random entry here, showing what I looked like in 2006 & 2007, leading up to my self-implosion..

I don't have any pics prior to 2004; the computer I had all those pics on burned up, couldn't recover them.

This was during my 4-yr. keto run..
As you can see, I got away from working my legs hard, as I was more involved in other sports activities during this time.

One of my favorite pics during my contest prep last year, when I was trying to beef up the wheels. Legs have always been a tough bodypart for me to develop, and quite honestly have always been my least favorite to work, until that prep. I busted my gut trying to get these guys caught up..

You are saying you are not a SuperHuman Snag?
Invalid Link Removed I'm much relieved :)

That was one of the most remarkable transformations that I have seen occur within only 10 weeks and 3 days!! Now I feel so undisciplined and flat-out lazy. I've got to dig deep and start getting truly serious about this business this year!!
Thanks for the inspiration big man!! :head:

My "transformation" pales sadly in comparison. But here it is just to sober me up to reality.
Yes.....I've got a long way to go baby!! LOL

Hahahaa, you are too kind, and always a positive force D. Thanx for bringing your encouragment to this arena! :box:

Make no mistake, I worked very, very, hard during that prep to accomplish the things I did. Maybe I've got decent genetics, and some things might come easier than it does for others, but make no bones about it - that prep was a combination of anal dieting (I think I even overdieted at times), awesome products, a good gameplan, muscle memory.. but most importanly, my drive, determination, and focus was non-parallelled. That's the driving force for anybody imo, despite what genetic cards we're dealt. You truly have to step outside yourself and be a machine, intense, focused.. picture it, & you WILL achieve it!

My large & insanely strong brother - you have come a long way, and continue to chip away at the imperfections. It is a journey, a marathon -- not a sprint! You WILL get to where you want to be!!

Keep your eye focused on the prize my man.. in the meantime, I'm gonna go get some squats in, and try to work with 1/2 the weights you play with! Your crazy strength is my inspiration today! :jaw:

Well snag, i was a huge fan before, now i feel a very small one, but in even more awe, You have shown remarkable discipline, and enthusiasm to your training, and how you have grown as an athlete in every aspect again is a credit too you.

Tg your transformation is pretty amazing too, keep it up buddy, cant wait to see you after your recomp.

Russian - I am not versed in Bromocriptine, others in this thread (Mullet?) may be able to offer more feedback than I, but yes, I have heard of its use in combating prolactin successfully, good results in the anecdotal feedback I've heard. I did not know the extensiveness of the compound tho, wow..

Thanks i wont bug you with anymore questions....for now:duel:

Happy New Year Snagency!

My name is Sneeky Jones (Sneeky), and I am a noob here. I have read every word of this thread. You have helped me in so many ways..... i'll just use the "kiss" method and say THANKS!!!

I don't post much (hense my 1st post, lol) due to my schedule and mainly my lack of scientfic knowledge and dieting. However, I am no stranger to lifting weights :thumbsup:

We are around the same size, so I hope you don't mind if I hang around (research u past logs and such) to learn as much as I can from u.
After 15 years of lifting (6 year lay-off), I am embarressed to say that I need to learn how to eat "right"... getting older; uh wiser now, and the "no diet" thing is getting old.

I sincerely hope it was ok to introduce myself here in u thread. And again, thank you so much for this info here. I read every word trying to focus on learning how to properly feed my size frame (wrote all recipes and suppl. logs down)!
I will use this as a beginning basis for my personal plan.

Please keep this going, I will be around. Im too shy too post alot, but please kno, I wont miss a thing!

Peace,
Sneeky J

Tornado Snag Is Picking Up Cyclonic Force!!!

Day #10 (overall)

Training: Legs (same format as day #2)

Comparison..

Last week:
Barbell Squats:
135x20
185x15
225xmax reps (15-30) {16}
255xmax reps (10-25) {11}
225xmax reps (15-25) {13}

Today:
Barbell Squats:
135x20
185x15
225xmax reps (15-30) {18}
255xmax reps (10-25) {12}
225xmax reps (15-25) {15}

Really pleased with the session today, endurance continues to improve. Hammies were still sore from my last leg session but loosened up well, and I cruised thru the leg curls strong. Most importantly -- knee issues were non-existent today! The SuperCissus has once again done its' job.

I was tickled with the last set of squats (grinded right thru that sh!t), getting my reps up to the minimum level in the rep range. The pump was just stupid, but I recovered well enough to handle the lunges better than last time around. Again, everything is feeling strong..

And to reiterate: all parameters (other than increased reps) were kept identical to last time - same rest periods, same weights.

One thing that does change today is macros. Bumping cals/carbs for the day (as I do periodically, usually planning these to coincide with leg training), planning on 3200 cals/450g carbs. So breakfast/post workout meal today was a bit different:

Breakfast: 610 cals, 85/50/8 C/P/F split
Post w/o: 630 cals, 105/30/10

Both meals fronted with Pslin.

I'm feeling rather large right now.. :D

And rather spent.

No worries bro, please do.. but if I don't know about something, I'm not gonna speak on it!

But if you don't bring things up, then how can I learn? :blink:

Do you time your rests with a stopwatch or anything? My brother just bought this thing called a GymBoss (Invalid Link Removed), and I think I may pick one up for my HIIT sessions.

Awesome Sneeky! You snuck right on in here eh? :run:

:welcome: Glad to have ya! Don't be shy.. feel free to speak. Ask questions..

And your avi looks pretty good man, looks like you know a thing or two.. glad you're enjoying The Storm!

Nah, I'm not that sophisticated.. I got a wall clock in my garage with a nice second sweep, I just pace around till it's time to roll again!

That's what I've been doing too, but this thing looks sweet. Only $20, and instead of just running a timer, you can set it for intervals which would be awesome for HIIT or if you lifted on countdown.

I'm going to use your log to channel my newfound rage into thr gym. My ex just informed me yesterday after 3 years that he wants to take me to court for custody of my 3 kids. **Here is the best part, he only wants them because he wants his child support reduced. So this is supposed to happen in Feb, right in middle of my prep.

I'm going to have to find a way to pay lawyers and buy food. I'm like you, it will be hard not to fall into a pit of worry and feeling sorry for myself. And to battle the constant fear of losing the kids.

However I'm going to use your positive energy to try and keep it together and build a body I'm proud of..rather than sit down and give up.

Im sorry to hear this christine, i hope you can work things out and at the same time carry on working towards your goals, we will all try and support you.
Never give up, stay as determined and as focused as you are now, and in the future you can look back and see how much each experience has molded and shaped you to become a better person.

Thank you my Russian brogan!

I explain why fasted training is an effective approach in regard to muscle fiber type activation in that thread! May be some good information in there!

I am sorry to hear of this as well.. I have 2 kids too, and my wife & I went thru issues back in the day; I can empathize with your situation. Fortunately, we grew stronger because of this. Doesn't always work out that way..

If you can use this thread as a launch pad for your own success, then I am well honored. Keep the mind strong, focused. Easier said than done, I know -- but, just read the quote in my sig line.. that's what it's truly all about!

Meal #3 this day:

1 can albacore tuna w/ smidgen of salsa
2 cups broccoli
2 egg whites
1/2 cup brown rice hot cereal

500 cals, 72/44/4 C/P/F

My carb source this meal was Bob's Red Mill Creamy Rice Hot Cereal, made from brown rice. 300 cals, 64g carbs. Little bit of cinnamon thrown in for flav. Tasty.

So, counting cals/carbs from the Anabolic Switch serving & the Plasmavol, I'm roughly at 2k cals (1990) for the day, macros 318/128/22. Ah, I enjoy this anality.. fun stuff. Three more meals left today to consume the balance of planned intake.
Thought about splitting everything over 7 meals today, but I'm going to bed early tonight and didn't want to think that hard to rearrange everything, haha.. I will end up today with splits of 450/250/45 C/P/F to account for my 3200 cals. Basically I'll have a shake with oats next, sirloin/salad/sweet potato after that, and a lower carb/higher protein shake last. Then it's back to 2750 cals tomorrow..

EDIT: ooooops.. that'll teach me to multi-task. don't know how I got sidetracked & listed wrong macros for that meal.. apologies to anyone who caught that blip. correct #'s listed..

Down to science Snag! Obvious why the results come:box:

I'm sorry to hear this as well, Christine. I'm sure the last thing on your mind right now is your training, but I'm sure you'll be able to balance everything out well. You seem like a very able-woman, and this is when it comes in handy. You and your family will be in my prayers.

I'm assuming you brought up paying lawyers because it is draining financially? At least you'll be dieting down!...There is no better reason to cut than cost-reduction. :lol:

Have you ever had that Puffed Brown Rice cereal, Snag? Or maybe that's what that stuff is...Anyways, it's pretty good stuff and real cheap.

Tooooo sugary!

I do buy their Pizzas once in a while, though. :D

You think so? Obviously everybody is different, but I eat 1-2 cups daily with no ill aesthetic effects. This being said, the sugar in Kashi is not glucose-fructose or synthetics, but natural sources.

No, never tried that.

This stuff I'm talking about is a finely ground mix, you cook it in boiling water for about 8 minutes..

Check out some of their products..

No, if it is pure sugar cane [unrefined] which, assuming Kashi is being honest, it should be, it will be sucrose. They most likely use it as an alternative to refined sugar.

Is that the same as "Sugar In The Raw?" I didn't think it really made a difference. Well, I guess I learned something today.

Have you guys ever read the Insulin Index? There are so many factors other than Insulin in terms of why a product is good for you, but: Brown Rice actually has a higher Insulin Index than Brown Rice!

Ohh, okay! I've bought that brand's Scottish Steel Cut Oatmeal before. I've never seen the cereal you're talking about, though. Looks good.

Maybe, I am not really familiar with that product [I think they have it in little packets at restaurants?]. As I said, sugar is ultimately sugar but, if you must eat it, I would far, far, far and away choose an unrefined source. Given Kashi uses most often unrefined sources, I would assume their sugar cane juice is as such. Sugar cane juice is what they ultimately refine the **** out of to make table sugar.

Maybe this is me justifying my Kashi addiction, though! Haha.
