Animal Pak Review

My first reaction upon opening the can: HOLY SHIIIT! Not only did the size of some of the pills remind me of something horses consume, but also how many there were. At first, it did seem like quite a task to down all of these pills first thing in the morning, which is usually when a multivitamin is taken. I have tried taking the whole small handful and swallowing them all at once. I gagged and choked, lol. That obviously didn't work out for me. I also tried breaking the pills in half and consuming them in halves. That cuts down the size of the pills, but creates more pieces to consume. I even tried crushing the whole package of vitamins and mixing the powder in with a protein shake. Baaad idea. It seems rather simple and convenient, but I'm a person who enjoys drinking his protein shake. I like to savor the flavor. All I tasted was liver. There were also many small fragments of the pills still left over and caked up at the bottom of the blender. This was months ago. Needless to say, I've manned up. I consume the whole package and pound down some water. I've tried several different mulvitamins, such as GNC's Mega Men's Sport and One-A-Day Men's, and those don't even compare to Animal Pak. There's just something about the array of vitamins and mineras in the Pak. I've never felt so energized and healthy on any other multivitamin. The Pak will definitely remain a staple for me so long as I'm hitting the gym. Once you get past the fact that this really is a pack of pills, you'll begin to enjoy the many benefits of the Pak.

the Pak is doing me good too! My first tub but it wont be my last. :)

There's just something about the OTC multivitamins. It seems as if they'll cover one basis, but then not another. I feel my best while taking Animal Pak. I've gotten past choking the pills down, but it's well worth it. I'm ordering another can soon.

Thanks for the review MHG. Honestly, Animal Pak ain't for everyone. It was never intended to be... First, ya gotta get past all the pills. But like you said, once you do, you'll see the difference.

the pills aint sh1t, thats one reason im loving animal Pak! :head: pillpoppin maniac!.......makes me feel medicated for my mental sicknesses.....haha

Solid review and one I can compare with. Did many of the same things bro while I learned too. Turns out that breaking or crushing the pills in the Pak compromises it's time release function. The size, shape, thickness and coating thickness and hardness all work together to control when the nutrients are released into your system.

Since then I too have learned to just man up and swallow my pack whole. Heck I even throw in a few extra Uni-Liver tabs with it now and they go along for the ride as well.

As you said, I definitely feel better when I'm using the Pak also. In more ways than one. There is no substitute. Glad to see others getting the same results.

Funny!

I think it is funny how you know your body has absorbed and digested the pills/minerals/vitamins is when you use the facilities to drain yourself of bodily fluids and it look like Lemon Gatorade an hour or two after taking The Pak!

I won't lie I always check and make sure so I know my body is properly absorbing and taking everything in!

It seems like Animal Paks are really hard for your body to digest. Put a whole pack in some warm water and vinegar and most did not break down by the next day.

Good thing my stomach isn't a glass of warm water and vinegar or I'd be f*cked...

Peace, G

You do realize that it is designed that way right? I was assuming this was a joke? Read the label if not my man. It explains why. You discovered the time release science behind the product! LOL!

Why do ALL of the pills need to be time released? I could understand that concept for some it's components but not all. Time releasing vitamins and minerals are good for maximum absorbtion but for a whole day these pills did not break down! I tested two other vitamins and they broke down within 30 minutes leading me to believe my body can utilize them more. A pill can only stay in your body for so long before it gets $hitted out. I used to use animal paks all the time but I suspected my body wasn't able to break them all down. I understand this is an Animal sub forum and I don't expect any contradictory statements from you guys and nor am i try to pi$$ in your pool, but I am just curious to find out why it takes so long for these to break down. I frequent on another forum and i came to find I am not the only one who feels this way suprisingly. If it is time release then why do the directions say take 1 pak 30 minutes prior to training or something like that?

The more sustained any nutrient flow can be the more ideal it is. This is the simple priciple behind a bodybuilder/healthy persons diet.

Most of the time users are just taking Pak with a meal, typically early in the day (i.e. Breakfast). I don't see too many taking it 30 min pre workout as typically you are taking something else pre workout.

Pak does have some components that may enhance an "anabolic" type environment which would benefit you pre workout but I have found it to work best for me during breakfast post workout.

It is time released to help support and sustain minerals/vitamins/nutrients to your system throughout the day. This is why it is typically recommended to take the Pak early during the day.

No man it's all good. And perfectly legit questions. There is never a problem with asking questions. That is what we are here on the board for!

The reasoning is simply really. Prior to workout your body has absorbed (and is still absorbing) the nutrients you need right away. It's not 30 minutes though unless you have some old label??? The directions say to take is 30 minutes after the last meal you consume before your workout. This could be any length of time before your workout depending on you. Others in the Pak release slower to trickle feed your body throughout the day. It doesn't really matter when you take it. Morning is best for most but I tend to follow the recommendation on the label.

Stomach acid does wonders on the tablets and they worked hard to make them the way they are for that reason. The experiment you performed doesn't really replicate the human digestive system at all and isn't going to give you any insight into how your body absorbs the Pak.

I hope that made sense?

I sometimes split mine up take half before gym other half after for some reason im thinking it will absorb better this way instead of dumping them all in at once. I love the product!

Gentlemen i am wondering can it be detrimental to over do vitamins and minerals? Can a person have a buildup in the kidneys or tax the system by getting too much? Im asking cause its my understanding that you "pass" what you dont need/use.

Also the new look and style of Universal is 100% better. The old torrent, intra aid and shock bottles looked a little dated. It wouldnt have stopped me from running that stack had nutraplanet not been out when i placed an order a few days ago but a vast improvement nonetheless.

Does Universal have any specific canadian dealers?

i loves the pak when i took it. I really did feel the difference in my day as a whole. I just cant afford it any more being a college student. I cut it close enough with all the food. lol

No worries man. You get what you need or you pass it. It's not going to hurt you unless you were doing something stupid like taking an entire can of Animal pak every day or so.

No Canadians dealers that I know of? Sorry bro.

It is definitely tough doing most of anything in college when it comes to food, supplements and so forth. I used to stock up when I got back refunds from school loans (ok I still do :o )

Hmm I read all of your posts and I'm still a little confused...
Its for 21 days each pack right.. how many pills are in each pack?

Is it dangerous at all??

You take a Pak a day. 11 pills in each Pak completely cover you for any nutritional gaps in your diet so long as you are eating right. The Paks come in can sizes of 15ct 44ct and for a limited time you can get 88ct.

It's more than just a multi but it is best described as a multi made for the serious athlete.

You know, I can't think of one single supplement that has been around as long as the Animal Pak. I remember these back as far as the early 80's. Back when people use to choke down hand fulls of dessicated liver pills. My wife even remembers taking Animal Paks when she was competing in Argentina in the mid to late 80's. Great to see a product with such staying power.

I take my Animal Paks in the afternoon only on workout days. (workout in the evenings) Makes me feel aswesome and energized the rest of the day. Also adds a certain kick to workouts. I've tried other popular multis, but I just didn't get what I got with the Pak. Solid Product indeed.

Thanks for the feedback D!
