Quest for Success vol#2 - Pumpin to the Ahhhnold

I'd really like to get into some traditional bowhunting. I've always used a compound bow, and I love it, but I'd like to take a few old-school hunting trips. Like a traditional elk hunt with a longbow. Wheew! That would be hard.

I've shot a few deer with a rifle, and the feeling of accomplishment just isn't there like it is with bowhunting.

Do you guys turkey hunt at all? That's a great time, too. I enjoy all the moving around you get to do. It's not nearly as inactive as deer hunting.

Id like to go turkey hunting more often. I have before but there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything.
 
Props on hunting like a man. I find it very unimpressive to hunt with pistols, riffles, etc.

A bow needs some level of expertice and cunning.

12/8/08 - Day 64

Overview :Today was basically a huge rest day. I didn't realize that I was going to have sore tri's and chest today when i woke up...but I did :). I don't mind being sore at all, but I wanted to take today and rest up a bit. Tomorrow I will hit them weights good ;). I was thinking of doing some legs with some KB swings as my cardio session. I dig it! I also want to get my haircut in the morning and i'm thinking why not ride my bike over there?!

Spent most of my day searching for new vehicles with 3 rows of seating. oy. what a day.

^^^I am in the playoffs in my fantasy league and this man may be the only reason I win. Starting tonight I was down 2 points and he has DeAngelo Williams and I have Steve Smith. Right now at this second I am winning by 9 points.



*** just a quick note :
I have definitely felt different since starting my "off" month of Cre-02. I haven't had as much strength with my lifts, my endurance is also slightly down (even though cordygen helps here), and I don't feel as good. Cre-02 is really an amazing supplement for me. I still have a long way until I start running it again...but I am definitely looking forward to it's return!

How long were you running Cre02 and what were your reasons for getting off?
I ran it for 3 months and now i'm taking 1 month off. I cycle just about all supplements I use that are not complete necessity supps (multi, fishies, protein, etc.) so that I don't become too used to them and have them start to lose any of the effect that they were having.
 
12/9/08 - Day 65

Overview :This is going to be fast because I am very tired and have to be up at 5am to start working morning shifts for the next 5 weeks. Today was good. Had a fast workout and then went to the bank and spoke about getting a loan to get a home. I think we'll be alright. They are going to call either tomorrow or Thursday to let us know if we were approved.

Since I didn't have as much time as I would have liked, I did back/bi's so I didn't waste a leg day rushing.

Less than a week still. It actually wasn't in my originals, but I made a post about a week back explaining all the changes for this month since I cycled off Cre-02 for a month.
 
I'm not going to make a full update...but I wanted to inform everyone of my intense mistake today. I was in a rush to get to work because I started the AM shift today so I forgot to pack any food. At work I can only eat once because of some ridiculous system they have and then i'm forced into fending for myself. Needless to say, when I got out of work I was starving....and I overate DRAMATICALLY, and ate ALL the wrong things. My numbers today are the worst i'll be posting since I began this log. Not even have my cheat days been this bad.

Calories - 2,385
Fat - 122.3g - 1,100cals - 43 %
Carbohydrate 215.2g - 854cals - 34 %

I am 110% letdown with today...and I would have made myself go through a training session if I was not completely exhausted from barely sleeping. I am going to get to bed early tonight so I can go in tomorrow more awake, with MY OWN food, and with a fresh start.

12/11/08 - Day 67

Overview :Today felt good. I actually got some sleep so that was nice, and i'm working normal people hours which is very different, but great at the same time. Right now things are going well :). I ate much more clean today even though it still wasn't 100%. I am fine tuning myself back into training mode now that i'm getting a little more comfortable with my shift and the excitement of my birthday is over. It's tough battling against wanting to eat everything that a pregnant woman is eating, haha, but i'm making it through.

Added some standardized green tea extract to my intake today...and my new fish oils finally came so I took them for the first time. So far no fishy burps...and since they are from Norway, I don't have to worry about heavy metals from the fish.

Ohhhhhhh...I almost forgot! I got pre-approved for a loan from a local bank to buy a house! They didn't give me a lot to work with...barely six figures...but it's something to get us into our first home as a family at least!

Thursday - Work!:

My first bottle of NoXidant is complete so I am starting my backup bottle. I am out of Growth Factor and XF ICE. I am not getting more Growth Factor, and I may get another ICE or I may try out the bc/eaa from LG sciences. Basically depends on which I can get cheaper. I am broke as a joke.

Okay, I lied. Did 2 things and my wrist started hurting.

Today when I was breaking down a pallet of salt that is used to soften the water for our machines (about 50lbs bags or so), I did something awkward when lifting one of them with my left wrist. I just did 50 mountain climbers and it felt funny, but I went on to KB snatch and as soon as I went to my left arm, my first snatch went very poorly and yeah...ouch.

I am just going to rest up tonight and try again tomorrow. If I can stay awake long enough, I will post a real update for today.
 
12/13/08 - Day 69

Overview :I actually felt awake today! Work was a little hectic because I had 2 callouts and a No Call/No Show...but we made it happen anyway. Then my relief came an hour late which aggrivated me to no end. I had plans to meet up with my mother and was an hour late. I hate being late! Guess I better get used to it now with twins on the way :lol:

Did a KB workout that felt good. I just did it now though...so my energy and strength weren't exactly where I wanted them to be....but a workout is better than no workout right? That's what I figured at least. My wrist felt alright so that was the important thing. I don't need any lame little injuries right now. I am trying to work out a schedule with my girlfriend so that I can workout right after work and then go to her place. I don't think she'd mind really...I just worry sometimes (especially now with the babies) that she'll think I feel that my fitness is more important to me than her. That's simply not true.

I can't get over how low your fiber intake is man. I'd freak out and 'back up' if my fiber was that low. That skirt steak looks great man, PM me a slice?

haha i'm 110% regular thanks to some Gut Health and Active Enzymes.

If I could PM a slice, I totally would. It was cooked a little well for my liking...but still tasty.

I totally agree. I like to waver somewhere between rare and medium rare. I love it! Definitely a red meat guy.

one of my ex'es used to order her steaks "blue". bleh. working in restaurants (or used to), i finally convinced my friend with empirical evidence as to never order well done steaks ever again. med-rare is definitely the best :)

Oh I don't know about blue, haha. Unless thats some serious Kobe Beef right off the boat from Japan and it's sashimi style, haha.

i check in periodically :) . blue steaks is where i draw the line. the rules of blue is - the outside has to be charred, the inside has to have hit room temperature, but not above 80 degrees. YUCK!!!

I have been in F+B for over 7 years and was a Sous Chef for 2 of them...trust me, I know Blue..lol. A lot of people around here call it either "black and blue" or "Pittsburgh".

lol... you say that until you see my diet. 7.5-8k calories and i'm gaining just under 2 pounds per month.
 
That's 100% true. It's a part of the game we play. I make less sacrifices than most....which is probably why my progress is not as fast as some. I fully believe that you have to be happy with everything you do :)
 
Just a thought Chuck, I see you mentioned worryig that se might find your fitness more important than her. If she truly is the right one for you then she will want you healthy. Those 45 min will eventually be something you guys can share after the babies are born. She will probably wantto train with you to drop baby weight.

My ex husband was jealous of my gym time and I eventually left him over it. Now there were many other big factors but that was the last straw. Being in great she soyou can enjoy and set a good example for the kids is important.

No update yesterday...the macros would have been too hard to calculate.

I was doing GREAT all day long until about 6pm or so when my girlfriends mother broke out all the cookies they have started making for the holiday season :(

Starting tomorrow I will be posting my weight once a week *tuesdays I think* as a kick in my ass. Not like the scale means much to me...but maybe the thought of it being posted each week will push me harder.

I am consistantly gaining weight...but it looks as though i'm leaner. I don't think it's possible.
 
Are you sure its not muscle you are gaining? Hang in there. I'm waiting until after Christmas and then hitting my diet.Its still 8 weeks out and it will mean more cardio. but better to enjoy a little and relax for the holiday than allow it to stress you.

This summer I was at 212lbs roughly. Right now I am about 223lbs. That's a lot of muscle, haha. Maybe...but I doubt it.

You're right about not wanting to be stressed at the holidays...but at the same time...I have a great deal more to lose than you, haha.
