<<ToaD>>

Hope things are going well for you Jordan!

They're not...

I've been training injured

I'm burnt out from my job

I have a fiancé who continuously stresses over a wedding

Most of my savings are gone, just in time for tha holidays.

I continue to diet because food is expensive.

My injuries won't heal without food.

This makes me cranky for work.

Work stresses my relationship with Kim.

I'm finding tha thought of a holiday season depressing.

...shall I continue? :D

LOL Yeah you can continue!

Injured huh, what happened?
When were you getting married, March? Hopefully that will ease up soon.

I feel for you on the finances, thats where I'm at with Christmas for 3 kids :(

Can you look for a new job? Or are you like me and just tough it out.

Hope things get better for you! Hang in the Jordan!

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Jordan,

You have my voice mail. I'm off from work the next 4 days but will likely be doing more of the same this week as last. Use my cell number so that you can reach me directly.

Don't make me call you a second time...:run:

Thank you Brian.

I've been telling myself to take things one day at a time. Your post only confirms my belief in keeping good faith.

I did catch your message yesterday knowing you were at work. I plan to call after I get off today around 3pm EST.

I'm pretty sure it's "golfer's elbow", mainly overuse and/or a forearm imbalance on my left side. I think it may have started by going a little too heavy on Military. Tha combination of low calories, repetitive movements, and little rest have kept things inflamed. With this one specifically, I tend to think it's genetic in origin as my father complains of this often as well having to cut out preacher curl and some tricep motions for lengths at a time. If you've noticed within my workouts, I've done tha same. I've also have taken extra days off as well. Considering I only have one isolated bicep exercise and two for triceps... it really sucks right now just about every way you look at it.

Wedding day is Sept. 12, 2009

I'm always open to new job opportunities when they present themselves, but I think you hit the nail on tha head with your comment. I've never been a quitter, and I think that poses my biggest challenge overall.

My birthday is Sept 12 ;)

I get comfortable in a job and never want to find a new one, even if I hate it. I never have liked change. But these days I look at it as quitting on myself if I'm miserable. But I also have 3 kids to consider anytime I make a big move.

Hope your arm gets better, my knee is a mess so I know what you are going through.

Have a good, safe Thanksgiving J !

Thank You... I did have a good one and was very blessed. I'm not sure if you caught my post in tha "Prayer Request Thread" but I'm On-Call yet again this week and was concerned that family time might have been cut short. To my surprise, not a single call that day and very few calls since. :)

I'm glad there were no calls, it sounds like you needed a break. And family time is great! I got to go play with my 5 month old nephew. Babies are so much fun! You will have to bring yours to the Arnold for me to snuggle when you have one. I'm putting in a request for you to have one thats under 3 months in March...lol!!!!

Hi Jordan!

Oh Hai! :trout:

I've been told that wrist curls would help to alleviate and rehab my golfer's elbow as it's mostly caused by weakened forearm muscles. I believe this to be a correct assessment. However, unfortunately I do not have tha motor control required to actively perform this type of exercise. So in it's place I've been working to find a replacement.

First was to purchase a Harbinger Hand Gripper. Well, that didn't work. Tha problem with this is that I can't get my fingers around it wide enough to get a good handle on even attempting to close... Tha best analogy I can use to describe what I'm dealing with here is to imagine your fingers bound together by rubberbands and then trying to open them up as far as they'll go, only in my case, there are no rubberbands and you constantly have that unwanted tension. It sort of makes for an interesting workout dynamic as up until recently my left hand grip (Now it makes a lot more sense why it's a forearm issue) is much like Loctite unless I'm majorly CNS fatigued. Also due to this 'problem', my left hand needs to be molded to bars / handles similar to wrist straps prior to performing most lift... So anyhow, Step 1 had not worked as planned.

Step 2 - Tha Isometric Steering Wheel Squeeze. Yeah, this one came to me while out on a consumer appointment. I drive with only my right hand, but have found therapeutic value in holding on to tha wheel with my left and stretching my wrist from time to time. I noticed that depending on my placement I'd get a slight burning sensation deep in my forearm near my elbow (origin of pain). So about a week and a half ago I started doing 5 sets of these squeezes EOD... first for 5 secs, then 2 for 10 secs, then 2 for 15. Much to my amazement, I've actually started to feel some relief and see some improvement. Needless to say, I'm hoping it only continues to get better as time goes on... stay tuned.

I'll be updating this journal through the end of December, but at this point I'm not 100% sure if I'll continue logging into tha new year.

Recently I've been finding less and less time to dedicate efforts to reprinting something I already do by hand. Lack of subscriber participation / feedback has also played a small part in this decision as well.

Recently I've been finding less and less time to dedicate efforts to reprinting something I already do by hand.
I used to do mine on a white board in the garage and then transcribe it onto a piece of paper and then data input it into a spread sheet (for my permanent records)...and then log it here. :think:

Lack of subscriber participation / feedback has also played a small part in this decision as well.
Jordan, speaking for myself, if I want to socialize with you i will pick up the phone, e-mail or PM you. I personally appreciate that there is little participation from the peanut gallery.

I myself do not enjoy logging much. However I do enjoy reading about your training. However I do understand as well.

Likewise, and not specifically directed at you.

I have assumed there is a learning curve with understanding my own methodology. Not to put you on tha spot, but anyone can ask questions. I have no problems providing answers. Due to this journal's time consuming nature, it would actually be nice to see some interest. Q&A's lend to additional motivation in blogging.

I won't speak for Christine, but I will for myself - you are a nuts and bolts, facts and data kind of logger - much like myself. Some people, many people, can't see the substance passed the data.

I look at the data, which is where the substance is, and observe and commend, comment and or inquire when I desire.

Jordan, you and I (or we) are a different breed of journal keepers. We came up much differently than the community which we keep company with here.

Don't conform, don't change.

If you started to journal like every other journal I see here then I would unsubscribe to this thread - that would leave me with no subscribed journal threads.

Cheer up!

Here's one for you - my daughter's boyfriend called me Christmas Eve to ask my permission to propose to my daughter.

I gave him my permission. She accepted.

EDIT: One more thing I forgot to mention - your journal. It's a journal, not a supplement review log, sponsored supplement log, ""X,Y,Z" Stack to the Max Insanity Log", or any other fleeting substance review or endorsement.

It's a long standing training journal that has endured trials and tribulations and lacks empty fan fare and glitter. It perseveres!

I am in here as a friend and for support. Training for any long amount of time can get tiring. Sometimes its that edge that helps push you on when maybe you don't feel like going that day.

I get very little questions in my log. However for me it is about logging my progress and as I welcome questions it is all pretty straight forward training.

lol... It was great talking to you Brian.

I kind of feel bad that most tha conversation was muscle talk and not so much about family and life in general. There never seems to be enough time to really hit all points of interest.

I do need your mailing address though. Kim actually recieved our 'Save the Dates' yesterday and this morning I had a huge note on my dresser that I need addresses ASAP as "THIS IS IMPORTANT!" ;)
